What these are good for is cool weather and general use. The gloves fit my hands well and do n't have the odd long finger length that I get with most other gloves. These are great for protecting and keeping my hands warm and look good. I use them for quick dog walks and sitting at Fall and Winter soccer games watching my kid. What they 're not good for is winter weather. Here in NC we 've been getting some pretty cold temps of late and my finger tips will start getting cold and these are not water proof. I lift weights a few days a week. Wearing gloves to protect the ligaments is a good idea. After some time without using gloves I will feel some pain in the fingers. I normally use gloves with the half finger which works great. I bought these full finger gloves to see how I liked them. After a few workouts they fit well and I think they prevent any damage to the ligaments. These are good gloves but I still prefer the half finger gloves because I still have more feeling and control of the fingers.
