OK I have tried A LOT of different pants for outdoor climbing... these are hands down my# 1 favorites for warm weather. They are VERY stretchy and somehow quite durable- no tears and minimal piling after TONS of abrasive granite, limestone and tuff over the last year, and I 'm back ordering in another color. Fabric is a little thin, but that's great for the warm, humid south. Biggest perk is that they work great on an active, but curvy figure. I love it! I am really specific about sun shirts because I live and work on boats and wear a sun shirt most days. Full disclosure: I have tried the Crater Lake and Sunshadow before this and really did not like them. The Crater Lake is 1) kind of soft and does n't breath as well as this one and 2) had sloppy sewing so the sleeve hem unravelled after a couple months of wear. Currently using these on the AT. They are lightweight, dry fast, sit comfortably under my hip belt, and have a nice stretch. The cinch at the bottom is nice for hiking them up during hot days. My only complaints are the pockets could be a little bigger/deeper, and there should be more colors. I am 5' 4 '', 150#, and have square hips and a flatter butt, usually wear between a size 6 and 8 in pants. Size small fits perfectly in these.

These pants are awesome. I ordered a large and then a medium because the sizing does seem to run on the larger side. I was comfortable in both, but ultimately decided to keep the medium. I usually am a size 10, athletic build, and I am 5'10. There was just too much extra fabric in the front and hip region in the large. Very light weight but perfect for the in between weather. Comfortable in 50 deg with a t shirt underneath and 35 with a few layers underneath. So far I have been in 4 rains, being stuck outside for 15 to 20 minutes each time. Kept me dry.

I am OBSESSED with this jacket. If you ’ re looking for something with all the gadgets and gizmos( drawstrings, extra pockets and zippers, etc) this ain ’ t it. This is a lightweight jacket and those extras have been foregone for the sake of weight savings. However if you ’ re looking for an ultralight jacket for hiking and backpacking?? Look no further. I ’ ve worn this in< 20 degree weather with just a wind jacket over it, I ’ ve worn it in 40 degree weather with just an Echo hoodie underneath, I have always been the perfect temperature. If you need ventilation after a climb, I just unzip on top and I ’ m good to go. Additionally, the fabric makes it easy for my pack to slide on and off which is a nice bonus. It has held up very well and I ’ m continually impressed by it! As far as I ’ m concerned this is a 10/10 for backpackers.
