They come in sizes not often available in the US, have room in the hips to move around in, and have extremely durable but stretchy fabric; particularly in the middle so movement is never limited. This is my favourite Base layer hoodie for day to day and backpacking. There is a nice wide brim on it to shade your face. The fit is relaxed so it never feels uncomfortable. The sleeves are long enough to cover your hands to keep them shaded. The fabric is crazy breathable and dries super fast. I got these pants in the spring for field work( I work in environment). I ended up wearing them all summer and was impressed how well they handled bushwacking in thick forest and shrubs without getting shredded. The big pockets are very useful to keep your things within reach at all time. In the fall I went for a 5- day backpacking trip and I was absolutely impressed by their versatility. We had some hot days, and the vents allowed me to stay comfortable. We had a night of pouring rain and the next day everybody got their pants soaked by the wet vegetation. The G- 1000 fabric was just water repellant enough to keep me dry. Finally we went over a snowy mountain pass, and the hooks allowed me to tie the pants to my laces and keep the snow from getting into my boots. Overall the only thing these pants could n't handle was the darn chipmunk that chewed a hole through the pocket one night to get at the couple peanuts that were left in there!

The Keb trouser is my favorite Fjallraven pant. I sometimes call it a technical sweat pant. It is THAT comfortable. These are my go- to pants for colder mountain biking temperatures and spring skiing. The botton system at the ankle makes for a good jogger style fit. Or you can loosen it up to fit over a bigger boot. Despite the two zipper vents I find that these trousers start to feel a bit too toasty for temps 65 degrees farenheit and warmer. Check out the abisko lite trekking trouser for a comparable style made with a lighter weight fabric.

The side zips are great for venting the legs on sunny days on the glacier. [ On a whim, I picked up a Canyon SS prior to hiking into Havasu Falls on the Havasupai reservation. We hiked into the falls in early July, with daily average temperatures in the low triple digits. I found this shirt to be extremely comfortable, fast- drying, and quick to vent off excess heat. With a large pack on my back for the 12- mile hike, even with the Arizona sun bearing down on us, I never felt uncomfortably warm or overly soaked in sweat. The shirt managed to wick away and evaporate off the moisture at a steady, appreciated rate. Upon reaching the falls, I gave the shirt a quick rinse off in the creek and after half an hour of hang drying, the shirt was ready to be put through its paces once more. Seriously, as far as the intended function of this shirt is concerned, it performed beautifully. Plus, I find both the fit and appearance of the shirt to be really nice. I 've since placed an order for additional shirts. I really dig 'em. For the reviewer who found the shirt to hang onto odors, I did n't have that issue at all, and I used just the one Canyon shirt for the three days we spent at Havasu. And, I was with people who would have quickly pointed out that I stank. No problems with odor control.

After wearing these shorts for a short period of time, they quickly became my husbands number 1 pair of shorts. When asked what he likes most about them he pointed out that they are incredibly stretchy and flexible but have a nice sturdy feel to them. He prefers a trimmer fit to his shorts with longer inseams and these were perfect! They also have cargo short style storage while still looking much cleaner and sleeker. Wear these shorts all summer long and never be disappointed. Stretch material is so comfortable you barely notice these are even on. I roll these up and bring them in pack every trip, they 're great for when I get to camp and start to chill, they work as swim shorts and dry quick, they work if it's really a hot day and the trail is n't too rugged. I took this shirt with me for walking the Camino in the early fall( ~35C on the coast with no shade). I 'm very sensitive to heat( due to both MS and some of my medication), but after soaking this shirt in water, the combination of the quick evaporation and the UV protection was enough to keep me comfortable even at noon. It was great to be able to skip out on sunblock and still not end the day looking like a tomato. Like other reviewers said, it's a little rougher that ideal, but I do have to say, it held up to backpack friction much better than the Abisko wool shirt I took on the same trip and I did* not* get any irritation despite walking all day with a 10- 20kg bag for the first time. Dries very very quickly, which is great when conditions are damp.

Great improvements from last year. I liked the trail sender shorts from last year and these improve on the previous version in several ways. First, the best thing about the previous version is the ultra lightweight ripstop fabric and how well it performs in hot weather- the only comparable pants I ’ ve found in weight are the Patagonia Terrebonne joggers, and these are somehow feel even cooler in hot( 90+ F) humid weather. The new 2024 version feels like it has the same fit, but improves on some annoyances from last year: 1. The waistband is slightly elastic, which is more comfortable from previous near 0 stretch 2. The pockets are deeper and the zip pocket has been moved from the front thigh to the side hip. This is a big improvement where your phone no longer barely fits in the pocket or runs up against your hipbone when sitting 3. The construction feels higher quality and more premium. Too early to tell on how durability will compare but definitely feels like it ’ ll perform better Very happy with all the changes made!

I bought a couple of these for running and hiking in the humid SE summer. They have performed perfectly for that purpose and are great when paired with the super comfy Astro Shorts. I also wear a couple of Patagonia Capilene Lightweight short sleeve shirts, and I would put the Echo up against the Capilene; they are very similar in terms of fit, performance and weight. The Echo comes just a tad further below my waist line than the Capilene. Fit is great. I am 5'10 '' 165 and the medium is perfect.

I wear these multiple times a week and have multiple pairs now. they can totally fit in with a collared shirt and are acceptable in most work environments. They don ’ t look like technical hiking pants with an elastic waistband unless you really pay attention. I also wore them for multiple elk hunts this fall and they served me very well. Still look brand new and my hunting partners Sitka pants look like the loop side of Velcro from the same brambles and granite rocks we walked through. You don ’ t have to wear gaiters in most swampy or wet areas because of the drawstring at the cuff. Belt loops are big enough for a thick tactical belt and have additional loops for a carabiner or hand warmer pouch. They are very water resistant, don ’ t gain much weight when soaked through, and dry very quickly. They pack down to almost nothing and pockets serve as very effective vents — direct airflow to the gentleman parts. Perfect pants for hunting, backpacking, climbing. If you pair with a base layer they are perfectly fine for the winter, down to 0F at least. My only criticism is that they are not good around campfires or sparks. You will get a pinhole if a tiny ember lands on them. Buy the full g1000 pants if you are gon na be around a campfire or work environment with sparks.

Wearing these pants now. Very comfortable. Minimal stretch. Great fit and look for trail to city. Sizes slightly small so if you ’ re between sizes pick the larger size. Fabric is such that animal hair doesn ’ t get buried in the fabric. Nice water repellency for walking in the rain with dog. Final verdict is these pants are understated but technical enough for wear and tear. Get yourself a pair.

I have two pairs of these and have put them through the ringer. I love the stretch material and rugged reinforced areas. The pockets are strategically placed and my thin wallet fits nicely in the front pocket as i also wear these as everyday shorts. Very breathable and dry very fast. The guys and girls from Fjallraven know what their doing. You definitely get what you pay for. Thumbs up on the best shorts i 've ever owned.

I love my Abisko shorts! They have great set of pockets, feature G- 1000 which is super durable and water resistant and have some excellent stretch panels. These shorts are comfortable and very durable.

I have purchased four pairs over as many years, one was nearly identical called Abisko Lite Trekking Shorts but I see no difference, the current `` Lite '' model does look different. Anyhow these are simply great from nearly every perspective. Light, but reinforced where you 'd want them to be. Stretchy and slim, not baggy and sloppy and yet you never feel constrained by them especially if you have big thighs. I 'm very glad there's no back pockets but instead a reinforced seat, my area if NE has much sharp granite you end up sitting on these do well. There's two well thought out low- profile cargo pockets that look sharp and are actually useful. Glad there's a mesh pouch for a phone in one. And low profile zippers for the properly deep hand pockets to keep items from falling out. What would I add? two small plastic snaps on the bottom cuffs so you could roll them up once and get a little more above the knee thigh cooling. I 've noticed I do this when I am really working and even without any kind of snap the stretchy material generally keeps the `` cuff '' and lets me have a shorter short. Also side vent zips please!. Then these would be absolutely perfect. Anyhow, pair five is being picked up soon.
