I have had this for almost two years now and have used it heavily in that time, but it still looks brand new and does not have any signs of wear. It is extremely durable. It is breathable and comfortable and a very flattering fit. I am 172cm and 54kg and ordered a size small which fits perfectly.
5
Claire
Well made lightweight jacket. I appreciate the zippered pockets, slight tailoring, and breathability. Good quality. I have two of these for a couple years and they hold up wear. Comfy to wear for a walk or running errands. I 'm 5' 7 '', 125 lbs, curvy/pear shaped. I got the medium and it fits well, could probably go for a small if I wanted it more fitted or the arms a bit shorter.
5
FjällFox
I have this jacket in multiple colours because of how versatile and great it is. It is very lightweight and does n't feel like anything when it's on but provides a surprising amount of warmth on chilly days. It's nice enough to put over a dress and wear to grab lunch or do some shopping, but it also holds its own on day treks in the forests.

whyseajay
Finally, a light jacket that has it all — proportions( athletic shoulders> waist and hips), warmth, breathability, and ease of movement. I can layer it easily or just wear on top of a base layer without compromising movement. I am thinking of getting this in more colors now!

These instantly became my favorite pants/shorts. They are super lightweight and breathable. The kind of garment I am so comfortable in that I forget I ’ m wearing it. I appreciate how adjustable they are. The belt system, ankle cinches, and zip off make for an excellent fitting and highly versatile garment. I have a small waist, wide hips, and thick thighs and it is so hard to find pants that fit. So grateful for these.

[ Packing for travel, you want a jacket that can handle the cold, wind, and rain yet still fit in your travel bag using minimal space. Marmot solved all that with this jacket. I love my jacket! With both inside& outside pockets and even a hood that actually rides well on your head, everyone should take a look at this jacket before spending your money.

[ It ’s unnoticeable weight makes it a perfect item to leave in my bag when I commute to work for surprise showers and and a great to keep in a bag for hikes just in case The durability isn ’ t compromised either. [[ Employee of marmot] Bought this jacket for a summer trip full of hiking and urban exploring across Norway. This jacket held up and kept me dry through everything that we encountered-- misty, windy, foggy, rainy-- and it fit great layered over a fleece on the colder days. When the pace picked up or we were going uphill, the pit- zips were great additions to help keep me comfortable and prevent overheating. It also packs down super small so it was easy to bring along on every excursion in a daypack just in case it started to rain.

These are as good a 3L rain pant as you can find anywhere
5
Livetohike
I 've had several pairs of rain pants from other manufacturers over the years and these are the best so far. They do n't restrict my leg movements, do n't leak, and are easy to get on and off. The rise is high, so you have good overlap with your top and the waist drawstring seems sturdy enough, although I pair them with suspenders also. Rain and wet brush are expected if you are outside much of the year here in the PNW, so you need some good rain pants.
5
Lewis B
I recently purchased the Foray 3L pants, and I could n't be more pleased with their performance. The standout feature for me has to be the full- length leg zippers, which make them incredibly easy to put on and take off, even over bulky footwear. This feature also provides excellent ventilation when needed. The material is top- notch, identical to the jacket, which I also own and love. It ’s exceptionally effective at repelling water, making it perfect for handling the sudden, intense downpours common in Florida. Despite its waterproof capabilities, the fabric feels comfortable and breathable, ensuring I stay dry without overheating. Overall, the Foray 3L pants are a fantastic investment for anyone who needs reliable, high- quality rain protection. Highly recommended for tackling unpredictable weather with ease!

Colby J
Really nice rain pants. Pack down fairly small with a carabiner clip to hold ‘ em on your bag. Honestly I didn ’ t notice much of a difference between their weight and my previous REI pants weight. They do seem to be a little bit larger than the size that is advertised. I ’ ve seen other peoples reviews and they mention the same thing, so though you may be fine with your normal size, I would try a size down. Overall, it ’s a great quality product that should keep you dry from rain.

I purchased this jacket a few weeks ago and brought it with me last week on a 3 day fly fishing trip in western NC. The temperatures at first light on the water were in the mid 30's and this jacket kept my core warm and cozy! I 'm 5 '' 10 160 pounds and the medium was a perfect fit. Plenty of room under the arms and chest area for layering, easily adjustable hood, and plenty of room in the front pockets and the interior pocket too. You also have a adjustable cord around the waist, though I did not need to adjust the fit. The fleece padding found on the interior near your neck, chin and mouth is brilliant! This soft material is fantastic when you need to zip the jacket completely up. This jacket is ethically sourced from 100% recycled polyamide and packs into its pocket or a small back. I 'm very happy with this purchase, well done FjallRaven!

This is by far the warmest and most comfortable puffy I ’ ve owned. Compared to other brands, this jacket has a higher collar and slightly longer sleeves and back which really seems to help hold the heat. It feels like great quality for a packable puffy. I ’ m not sure why anyone gets cold in this jacket. I use this as my outer layer when I ski. All I need underneath is a tshirt and and an old sweatshirt and I ’ m perfect in 0°- 30°F weather. The temperature in Colorado has been hovering around 0°F the last few days, so on short excursions around, I stay plenty warm. Walking around campus this jacket is light and super comfortable. It allows me to not have to layer up much as it takes on the cold itself. It ’s also very durable for a down jacket, I ’ ve clipped trees and crashed hard when skiing, had dogs jump on me, cats claw me, and no damage so far.

This is my favorite everyday light jacket for so many different reasons. First I love how light and effective it is as just a little something to keep the chill away. Secondly it dries so fast it blows my mind, no complaints from me on how quick it dried up when doing some sprinkler repair. It is very comfortable and has a very nice appealing look to it when worn. A cool feature on the women's version that my wife pointed out is the hole in the hood for a ponytail when running. Will definitely be buying another if this one ever wears out.

Peter C.
The quintessential shirt for hot, exposed hikes in the Grand Canyon! Kept me quite cool in 106 degree heat with it ’s excellent ventilation and windsock like quality vectoring any light breeze around my face, head, neck and upper back. So well made!
5
Jack R.
This is my favourite Base layer hoodie for day to day and backpacking. There is a nice wide brim on it to shade your face. The fit is relaxed so it never feels uncomfortable. The sleeves are long enough to cover your hands to keep them shaded. The fabric is crazy breathable and dries super fast. The hoody is a bit heavy at 170grams but not having to use a stupid ball cap on my head more than makes up for that.
5
Henri d.
I ’ ve used this shirt for countless fishing trips and about 2, 800 miles of backpacking. The fit is non- constricting and the material is super breathable. I really like the size of the hood and the fact that it covers your neck. If you wear it with a brimmed hat the hood protects your peripheral from sun as well. After thru hiking the Continental Divide Trail wearing this as my everyday shirt with a backpack on it showed very little wear. Great shirt!
5
Timothy M.
I live in the high desert where the sun can really fry you if you are exposed or if you 're too covered up. I love this shirt because it's lightest thing I 've ever worn, so soft, plus the mesh breathes like a charm. I like walking around with the hood up more than wearing a hat, I still get the same protection. I got the darker Navy color and have no problem, does n't feel like it's getting too warm from the sun's rays. Another perk are the thumb holes on the long sleeves, making sure that even my hands are covered! It fits big, I 'm usually a XXL but wear the XL without any issue.

Bought every color because of the comfort. Loved the paramount pants but these pants take the wheel. They have that light tactical feel. Perfect for a hike, light or durable work attire, comfortable under waders, great for layering. They cut wind a little better than the paramount pants too.

These pants are the best! I own every color now. Love the gusseted crotch. Pants are tough enough to cut firewood in, clean up nice enough to go to church in. Love' em. I 've evangelized these pants to others and they share the same sentiment.

[ Absolutely amazing pair of pants. They breath well, are comfortable, and are flexible enough to support a full range of movement. They are as formal as a pair of good looking jeans, but are just as comfortable as a pair of sweatpants. Perfect for the trail, work, or a meet up with friends. My only complaint is that `` short '' was not short enough and I had to go get them hemmed( a common problem for a short guy like myself).

Had to purchase a long sleeve shirt while cycling through Austria when temperatures dropped from the high 80s to the low 40s in 24 hours. Turns out this shirt is the most comfortable shirts I have ever had. While it is comfortable I. Warmer weather I found this shirt to be warm and cozy when when worn underneath a light jacket.

[ Love this shirt- material and fit. While I normally wear an XL for Fjallraven( 43 Chest), a L fits me for this one. I am a trail builder and find this shirt too warm above 75 degrees with routine exertion. Cost is high for me, but I think it will serve me well.

[ The material of this shirt is great, soft and breathable. It is very comfortable for hike during summer. Sufficient pockets provided. The downside of this shirt is that the use of material for the button made it heavier compare to Abisko Hike LS Shirt but still light weight enough.

[ This shirt is amazing... snap buttons, comfortable material, comfortable fit, ample storage, can be worn casually or to the office. Despite ordering a darker color, this thing does a great job keeping the heat off you. I would order a whole closet of these if they were n't so painful on my wallet!

I adore this shirt. Standing in film sets for 12+ hours in the baking sun, this short absolutely changes my day for the better. The ONLY criticism I have are the snaps. They unsnap perhaps a tad too easy. Let ’s just say my Co workers get some serious chest views from time to time.

After wearing these shorts for a short period of time, they quickly became my husbands number 1 pair of shorts. When asked what he likes most about them he pointed out that they are incredibly stretchy and flexible but have a nice sturdy feel to them. He prefers a trimmer fit to his shorts with longer inseams and these were perfect! They also have cargo short style storage while still looking much cleaner and sleeker. He does wish there was a second pocket on the rear.
5
Eric H.
Wear these shorts all summer long and never be disappointed. Stretch material is so comfortable you barely notice these are even on. I roll these up and bring them in pack every trip, they 're great for when I get to camp and start to chill, they work as swim shorts and dry quick, they work if it's really a hot day and the trail is n't too rugged. Only thing is the pockets can be uncomfortable if they 're loaded up too much. I rarely use them.

I have these shorts and my swimsuit, and that is it. Pretty straight- forward shorts that look great and feel great!

I bought these shorts in a larger size but exchanged them for a smaller size-- that was the best thing I 've done! They fit great and I I love the material-- very durable and comfortable.

This is my second pair of these shorts because they have become my favorite hiking shorts. They fit snugly in the waist, but loose in the seat and legs. The pockets are the right number and in the right places. They do n't show wear at all.

Great improvements from last year. I liked the trail sender shorts from last year and these improve on the previous version in several ways. First, the best thing about the previous version is the ultra lightweight ripstop fabric and how well it performs in hot weather- the only comparable pants I ’ ve found in weight are the Patagonia Terrebonne joggers, and these are somehow feel even cooler in hot( 90+ F) humid weather. The new 2024 version feels like it has the same fit, but improves on some annoyances from last year: 1. The waistband is slightly elastic, which is more comfortable from previous near 0 stretch 2. The pockets are deeper and the zip pocket has been moved from the front thigh to the side hip. This is a big improvement where your phone no longer barely fits in the pocket or runs up against your hipbone when sitting 3. The construction feels higher quality and more premium. Too early to tell on how durability will compare but definitely feels like it ’ ll perform better Very happy with all the changes made!

I 've had this jacket for a few weeks now, and I 'm pleased with the performance. It's light and compact enough for my needs, and the stretch makes it comfortable to wear even with a pack over it, and when I 'm moving fast. I have the Black version and will use it for hiking in the Pacific Northwest, but also as an emergency shell while travelling for business.

[ Employee of mountainhardwear] Rain jackets are simple things. We expect them to be lightweight, packable, breathable and to not fail. But, when you add simple but effective features like stretch fabric and pit zips? Now you 've got my business. The Stretch Ozonic fits well leaving a little room for layering underneath. Some rain jackets are like saunas for me, so when I start to steam I love having pit zips to regulate my personal humidity. This does it for me.

Light and very packable. Medium fit well for 5'10 ''', 165 lbs. Loose enough for an extra layer underneath.

[ Received a pair of Marmot Women ’s Arch Rock Convertible pants from Influenster and tried them on right when they arrived. They are a little bit snug but still on a weight loss journey. Looking to do a lot of hiking this spring and these pants will be very helpful. I love the option to make them tight at the ankle or to remove them at the knee to turn them into shorts. They are very comfortable and made of excellent quality material. I do love that they have sun protection as well.

[ These pants are great and versatile, the fabric is lightweight but durable and feels extremely high quality. I ’ m 5 ’ 10 ” and the inseam is perfect as it hits the top of my hiking boots, not to mention the drawstring at the ankle makes it versatile when I ’ m wearing thicker wool socks.

[ I received the Marmot Arch Rock Convertible UPF 50 Pants for free in exchange for an honest review, and I couldn ’ t be happier with them! When I got them, I immediately thought they ’ d be perfect for my mother- in- law, who loves hiking and travels to all sorts of unique destinations. After trying them on, she said they were incredibly comfortable and lightweight. She wore them on a hike, and afterwards, she mentioned that they were some of the most comfortable pants she ’s ever worn. The convertible design is a great feature, especially for fluctuating weather during hikes. The UPF 50 rating is a bonus, offering solid sun protection while still being breathable. Overall, we definitely recommend these pants to anyone who enjoys outdoor activities. They ’ re functional, comfortable, and perfect for any adventure!

Even though it says the fix is trim fitting, I 've found it plenty roomy. The inside feels great, i like the large hand pockets and the chest pocket. Hood is a good fit, and most important of all- it's kept me dry during a few short downpours and a moderate rain during a 4 hour hike. This is going to be my new favorite shell.

If you can only afford one rain shell, this is it! Lightweight, breathable, comfortable, AND waterproof! I wore this during the steady deluge of a Pineapple Express rain event for over an hour and remained dry and comfortable. All of the zippers( main, armpit, pocket) have been trouble- free. Keep in mind this jacket lacks a two- way zipper and an internal pocket, but despite these shortcomings I find it to be an excellent value!

I travel quit a bit and wanted a pair of shorts that I could work out in, trail run, swim in, etc. Also wanted something that would dry quickly. These are great for that. I generally wear a shorter inseam specifically or trail running, but this inseam was a more modest and `` everyday comfortable '' approach. Got the shorts with the AirShell Hoody and together they 're a great combo. Would recommend as a all purpose trail short.

I absolutely love my new jacket! Just to be cleared... I loved the previous Mt Hardwear jacket I had, but the zipper broke& your co. stood behind their product& gave me a very generous credit, when they could n't fix the original zipper. THIS is why I shop with Mt Hardwear!... Excellent quality& standing behind your product( when it failed after 12 years of HEAVY use).

I just got this jacket, but by first impressions of use... WOW! This thing is exactly what I wanted. I have a shell for warmer days but had to bundle too many layers to stay warm on those cold days. I run very hot while skiing, I get to the bottom and need to strip or open all my layers to not overheat. This jacket gives you breathability while carrying the insulation that keeps you warm on the chair up. Literally the only thing that could be improved is the size of the armpit ventilation. Like I mentioned above I run hot so I would have enjoyed more airflow when I open the vents. But that tiny detail is the only thing I can find at fault and it's more of a personal preference. Bravo Mountain Hardwear!

[ Employee of mountainhardwear] I have been using multiple Kor products for a while and added this one to my closet recently. It has many uses but what I use it for is early morning hikes and rides. There's a reason you see so many really favorable reviews of this jacket. It checks all the boxes. Packable, super light, blocks the wind, repels mist or light rain and looks great. Pull it out of your kit at a windy summit or the top of a pitch. If you are slim and athletic, it fits true to your usual size. I have a paunchy `` dad bod '', so I had to go up one size for midriff room. You wo n't have to, though. I also have the lined hoody version of this garment, and like it equally for belaying or just spectating at the base of the crag.

When selecting clothing for backpacking, consider features that enhance comfort and functionality. Look for moisture-wicking materials that help keep you dry, as well as breathable fabrics that allow for ventilation during physical activity. Additionally, clothing with quick-drying properties is beneficial for unpredictable weather conditions. Features like adjustable waistbands, multiple pockets, and lightweight designs can also improve convenience and ease of movement on the trail.
To choose the right size for backpacking clothing, start by taking accurate measurements of your body, including your waist, hips, and inseam. Consult the sizing charts provided by the manufacturer, as sizes can vary between brands. Consider the fit you prefer; some may opt for a looser fit for layering, while others may prefer a more fitted style for mobility. Additionally, think about the type of activities you will be doing, as this can influence your size choice for comfort and functionality.
When selecting clothing for backpacking, look for materials that offer durability, moisture-wicking properties, and breathability. Synthetic fabrics like polyester and nylon are popular choices due to their lightweight nature and quick-drying capabilities. Additionally, natural fibers such as merino wool can provide comfort and temperature regulation. It's also beneficial to consider clothing with water-resistant or waterproof features for added protection against the elements.
Yes, certain styles of clothing are particularly suitable for backpacking due to their functionality and comfort. Look for lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics that provide breathability and quick-drying properties. Convertible pants and shorts offer versatility for changing weather conditions, while durable outer layers can protect against wind and rain. Additionally, clothing with ample pockets can enhance convenience by allowing easy access to essentials while on the trail.
The fit of backpacking clothing plays a crucial role in comfort during long hikes. Properly fitting garments allow for a full range of motion, which is essential for activities like climbing or navigating uneven terrain. Additionally, clothing that fits well can help reduce chafing and irritation, making it easier to focus on the hike rather than discomfort. Many backpacking clothing options are designed with features that enhance breathability and moisture-wicking, further contributing to overall comfort on the trail.
Convertible pants offer versatility for backpacking by allowing you to easily switch between pants and shorts, adapting to changing weather conditions and activity levels. They are typically made from lightweight, quick-drying materials that enhance comfort during long hikes. Additionally, many convertible options feature pockets for convenient storage of essentials, making them practical for outdoor adventures. This adaptability helps you pack lighter by reducing the number of clothing items needed for your trip.
Weather conditions play a crucial role in selecting clothing for backpacking, as they can affect comfort and performance during outdoor activities. In warmer climates, lightweight, breathable fabrics that wick moisture are ideal to keep you cool and dry. Conversely, in cooler or wet conditions, layering with insulated and waterproof materials can help retain body heat and protect against the elements. Additionally, choosing clothing with features like ventilation and quick-drying capabilities can enhance your experience in varying weather conditions.
When layering clothing for backpacking trips, consider the weather conditions and temperature fluctuations you may encounter. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer to keep sweat away from your skin, followed by an insulating layer for warmth, and finish with a waterproof or windproof outer layer to protect against the elements. It's also important to choose lightweight and packable materials that allow for easy movement and can be adjusted as needed throughout your hike. Lastly, ensure that your layers are breathable to help regulate your body temperature during physical activity.
Moisture-wicking fabric is essential in backpacking clothing as it helps to manage sweat and keep you dry during physical activities. This type of fabric pulls moisture away from the skin, allowing it to evaporate quickly, which can enhance comfort and regulate body temperature. Staying dry is important for maintaining energy levels and preventing discomfort during long hikes. Additionally, moisture-wicking materials can help reduce the risk of chafing, making them a practical choice for extended outdoor adventures.
Lightweight backpacking clothing is designed for breathability and ease of movement, making it ideal for warm weather and fast-paced activities. These garments often use thin, moisture-wicking materials that dry quickly and pack down small, allowing for easy transport. In contrast, heavy-duty backpacking clothing is typically made from more robust materials that offer increased durability and protection against harsh weather conditions. This type of clothing is better suited for colder climates or rugged terrains, providing additional insulation and resistance to wear and tear.
