I was concerned I would have sore feet, blisters, or rubbing from the boots during the long trek, but these socks, without a doubt, helped prevent that. I had some lingering sores from a pair of hiking sandals that I had been testing, and these socks were thick enough, soft enough, and moisture wicking to alleviate any discomfort. It's warm and comfy. Soft fleece, lots of zippers and pockets. Got the gray, the fleece is different from my other Denali's. The fleece is maybe softer than the usual Denali fleece. The fleece does shed, which I guess happens with the softer fleece. It is way more cropped than the older Denali as well. The name should say `` Cropped ''. I 'm considering sizing up to see if it will make any difference, but that means the sleeves will be much wider. I 'm not sure why the under arms are soooo huge maybe to decrease sweating hence the zippers under the arms. They should have two options for the Denali, one with a regular length and one cropped for women. This one is functional, but will rise up. I buy a new Denali every few years, this one is very different. The prices keep going up and the jackets and sweaters keep getting shorter.

I thought my Vidda Pro's were the best trousers I had... until I picked up a pair of Keb Agile's in the sale. Hands( or legs) down the best trekking and general wear trousers I have ever bought in 35 plus years of trekking and hiking around the globe. Their first proper test was a hike and snowmobile up Langjokull glacier in Iceland and they performed brilliantly. The position of the thigh pockets is genius, and gives you easy access to items when sitting. The reinforced areas are perfect, especially the inner calf areas. [ There is a little cushion in these socks that makes them extra comfy. I wear a 12- 12. 5 in most shoe brands and bought these socks in size XL. The fit is great overall, maybe a tiny bit large but nothing to complain about as the XL is intended to cover a range of foot sizes. For comparison I wear an XL in Darn Tough as well and they fit fine if maybe a touch small. I would definitely buy smartwool socks again in the future. They seem like they are holding up nicely.
