One of the best mountaineering pants you can get- durable, breathable, and yet still warm at any altitude. These are my go- to pants for many PNW mountain treks( Mt Adams, Middle Sister, Mt. Hood, etc). The fit is fairly true- to- size, but I would have expected a bit more stretch in the waist. I 'm usually a 32 in most clothing, and M's feel a bit tight. There's plenty of stretch in the legs which makes for easily climbing, but the waist can definitely be a bit annoying. It's not enough to take away from how great these are, but something to consider if you 're on the border of sizes.

[ I came across this jacket when searching for a synthetic alternative to my down jacket for backpacking. And while it's maybe just a little too heavy and bulky for my ultralight goals, I bought it because I liked it so much in general( tried in on in a store, bought it on Mossejaw). And now I wear it anytime the weather's a little chilly. It's warm, a great fit-- not too tight, not too baggy-- and the material just feels great. I 've also had it out in light rain for half an hour or so, and nothing soaked in. So it really is at least a little water repellent. Only con is, I do n't like the double, left- handed zipper, but I 'll get used to it. And who knows, maybe I 'll end up bringing it on a backpacking trip, since I like it so much. Glad I bought it during the big sale!

This is a good one which goes to mid thigh on me( 5' 2 '') with the rounded swoop in the back that looks a bit stylish. The hood is adjustable so it stays put and the collar gives lots of coverage as do the longer sleeves which can cover my hands or adjust with velcro at the wrist and the zippers are waterproof. I like the cut of OR jackets. I am 6 ’ 1 ” 235. The Helium Down does not disappoint regarding warmth. It has that soft down feeling with added structural integrity where one might carry a pack. The gusseting in the arm allow for a full range of motion without much rise. I have long arms and can still draw out without the jacket tightening too much in the back. If for some reason I found myself in dire need of more warmth I could wear it underneath a jacket or shell because it could compress enough to almost be a base layer and not sacrifice its loft. At which point I am certain to roast.

This jacket served me well for 10 years of steady use every winter/fall and I finally replaced it. The quality is superb, the new Pertex Shield on the shoulders/arms gives it a much more durable feel. It has a premium feel in the hand and is a nice blend of weight/durability. Fits great with layers underneath, but also works well as a mid- layer under a shell. I 'm a fan of the new color options too. In summary, this is a durable, lightweight, packable and versatile jacket that does its job in the back- country but transitions seamlessly to the front- country. Highly recommended.

I have a number of OR gear/jackets/fleece. For reference I 'm 5'10 '' and weigh 215 average build so I typically wear an XL in OR and L in some other brands depending on fit. This jacket is very well made and everything fits to be expected except at the waist. It's very small compared to my other OR jackets which surprises me. It is warm but the Storm color is n't accurately represented in the pictures. It's a much lighter grey color in person.

Impressive 3- 1 after wearing out my North Face 3- 1 system I have wore for years. Bought this to replace it and I am happy with what my research settled upon. Love the zip out silk liner as a stand alone lite duty jacket, a nd the shell works excellent as a rain cover. This is a great system for a beginner or an expert in the field or out on the town. Size runs true and is a little longer than expected but I did not mind the extra length to cover my hind end.

Very light weight. Packing compressed it a lot and it took a couple days for it to expand out. My first time wearing it was in 30 degrees and it kept me very warm. I am 5' 6 '' and a large was a good fit for me, especially for arm length. I am a little concerned about longevity because of how light weight it is, but time will tell on that. Material and stitching are top notch and the jacket is very comfortable to wear. I HATE the feeling of gortex and this has more of silky feel inside and out, which is perfect. For a general use winter jacket this is perfect.

These pants are awesome. Great baggier fit for people with larger muscular legs. I ’ m 6 ’ 2 or 188cm and I got a L regular. Slightly long but nothing a belt can ’ t help. I took them on a mountaineering adventure snowshoeing through knee to waist deep snow without getting even a drop wet. Incredible breathability, stretch, and comfort. I love the color too! One of the best mountaineering pants you can get- durable, breathable, and yet still warm at any altitude. These are my go- to pants for many PNW mountain treks( Mt Adams, Middle Sister, Mt. Hood, etc). The fit is fairly true- to- size, but I would have expected a bit more stretch in the waist. I 'm usually a 32 in most clothing, and M's feel a bit tight. There's plenty of stretch in the legs which makes for easily climbing, but the waist can definitely be a bit annoying. It's not enough to take away from how great these are, but something to consider if you 're on the border of sizes.

used this at work during- 30°f temps with layers and kept me plenty warm. the thicker material on the shoulders protected the jacked from a heavy weighted survey vest and the jacket has held up very well for extended periods outside in the woods, may be a bit warm for vigorous activity but perfect for normal use in cold temps.

I hear a lot of reviews saying they are roomy in the butt and thighs… a dream for big butted adventurers like me! I typically struggle with adventure gear only working for athletic builds, but these fit great! I have a big waist to hip difference and there is a cinch to help keep the waist tight. The rise is great, goes up to my belly button. I got a size large so they wouldn ’ t be tight in the butt or thighs and they drape beautifully, with plenty of room for base layers. If you ’ re a curvy gal these are for you!

I purchased these for a trip to Finland next January. I love the fit and feel of these pants, They are lightweight and stretchy, which will allow for ease of movement. Also, for traveling, they fit into a small packing cube. I think they will be excellent as a midlayer in Finland's winter temperatures. I was worried about which size to order, but I chose wisely with a Regular Large- I am 5' 2 '' 160 lbs- they fit perfect.

Excellent addition to my daily use and outdoor recreation clothing gear. The jacket packs down quickly to about the size of a 500 mL water bottle. The Ghost Whisper UL has become a key piece of layering gear for mountaineering, hikes, and just around town. Super light, comfortable, warm, and stylish. Checks all the boxes. If MH makes a non- hooded version of the 1000 fill, I would absolutely buy that as well.

Awesome piece of gear. It ’s lighter than a mouse fart, but warm as a Marshall pufffy combined. This jacket was purchased with climbing Kilimanjaro in mind and will be bringing it with in January. The only other puffy that compares is the whisperer/2 which trades a little down loft for a slightly tougher shell fabric.

This is my dream super light down jacket and I wear it more than any other during the colder months. I thought the Ghost Whisperer was good until I got one of these and now I only wear the UL. It's so light it almost feels like you 're not wearing anything, and at the same time its seems much warmer than similar jackets that are heavier. It's almost like an illusion because when you put it on you warm up quickly yet you do n't feel like you 're wearing a jacket! I received this jacket in black for Christmas as a gift. It is super warm and windproof with cozy lined pockets and I like the chest pocket for my phone. The fit is comfy, not bulky, and it does not ride up on my long torso, making it a superb layer under waders. It is extremely light and compressible in its own pocket. This thing will keep you nice and toasty on blustery days, without the extra fluff.

I have only had this coat for a few weeks but I have used it in sub zero temperatures, snow and rain. It kept me warm and dry. This jacket is much roomier than your typical hoody jacket from other brands. I can easily wear sweatshirts and other layers underneath if needed. I work as a climbing guide in Colorado, so my work takes me to a variety of locations and climates. My initial guess as to what the Keele would be like was similar to other grid fleeces: lightweight and flexible. The latter is more true than the former. This layer was surprisingly heavy- and I think that's fantastic. It presents a different layering option than other mid- layers that tend to strive to be light. The inner fabric is extremely soft, so it feels great next to skin. I was caught in a mild drizzle and the outer fabric did a great job beading water and not letting me get soaked. I 'm 5'10 '' 165 and it felt just a hair big on me. If it was colder( ice climbing or mountaineering) I would appreciate the room to layer. As the only mid- layer I was wearing it was just a slight bit big, but I did n't find that problematic at all.

I am a rock climbing guide who guides across Colorado and Utah and its important for me to have gear that works well, is durable and looks professional. I was excited for this hoody to arrive as it checked a lot of those boxes for me. The large fits ideally for me at 6' 2 '', 215lbs and long arms. I have a bit of an issue in the past with MHW sizing as it seemed I was right in between a L and XL but this jacket fits wonderfully. The waterproofing is functional if you are stuck in some light rain, as the water will bead right off. The brushed grid interior gives the hoody that cozy feel which means you 'll never want to take it off. It is a lot denser of a hoody than I was expecting but that's a positive in my books. I really think this hoody is for anyone who wants a full zip mid layer jacket but it will find itself at home the most in the backpacks of you Spring rock climbers!

I am a search and rescue volunteer and climbing wall instructor who spends my time in Arizona and Washington state. Working in a wide range of environmental conditions requires that my gear does the same. I ordered the Keele grid hoody as large, my usual size, and I found it fit true to size. The Keele hoody has performed exceptionally while climbing, traveling, and hiking. The recycled polyester double weave fabric is my favorite feature of the Keele. Its brushed back grid interior is soft and wicks moisture well while the DWR coating on the exterior provides durability and water resistance. Even when soaked through, the Keele kept me warm climbing in less- than- ideal conditions. The three- piece hood functions incredibly well and I found it fit over or under a climbing helmet. I have thoroughly enjoyed using the Keele and recommend it as a base or mid layer for nearly any outdoor endeavor.

You can never have too many midlayers! This statement is always true, and that is one of the many reasons the Keele Grid hoody is something you should get. I 'm 5' 9 '' 165lbs. and the medium fits comfortably. It does n't have a really technical fit like an r1; it's a more relaxed fit. This jacket is the r1 that you can wear everyday, but with pockets and way more wind resistance. I 've been grabbing this every morning when I leave the house on all these cool Spring mornings. The hood is really comfortable, and I 've always been a half- zip kind of guy, but I 'm loving the full- zip jacket feel.

[ I bought this jacket with the upcoming Winter in mind replacing my previous ten years ’ old puffer. I can tell it ’s going to be warm enough for the E coast winter but what really blows my mi d is just how light it is. Whereas I ’ ve always had jackets that encumbered my movements and I ’ d simply got used to that fact, this jacket feels so incredibly light and form fitting that it ’s going to be a new experience for my winters. I love the fact it feels like a light jacket instead of a ‘ winter coat ’ and can ’ t wait to be wearing it daily very soon.
