[ These are n't boots that you can take out of the box and go for a backpacking hike, they will need broke in first. I took these on my rafting trip down the GRAND CANYON. I brought them for the side hikes from the river. Which are usually washes with some water crossings. These shoes did so well! They have incredible traction for climbing over big rocks in dry washes, or on slick ledges. The traction is incredible! They were comfortable right off the go and my custom orthotics fit in then since they have a removable foot bed. I loved these boots on the trip! Completely waterproof over the foot but if water gets up to the mid part where the laces are water does come in. I am going to look for a goretex hiking gater for that.

I work in a warehouse and walk 10- 12 miles a day, 260 days a year. I have worn the Eagle Trail boots by Georgia Boot this past year. They have been amazing. Only now are the insides starting to fail at the heels. The outsole has worn evenly and still has lots of life left. The leather has resisted being run over by pallet jacks, the toes have saved my toes numerous times. I bought them at the outlet store in Nelsonville and love them so much I will order them again full price. My feet do n't sweat, stink or get blisters. I sized them in W to allow exptra room in the toe box and will likely go up a half size this time. They fit true to size and look very good after a touchup with Helix Foot and Boot care. My paycheck depends on my feet being healthy. My feet depend on my Georgia Boots. Yes, I would say they are the best boot I have ever worn for work.

Put them on and immediately can hike in them with NO breaking in ever! Great waterproofing for a year or so; do seem to come apart at the seams though after about 2 years so I replace since I love these boots! New ones though seem tougher. Please do not ever get rid of the Targhee boots!

This is my 3rd pair of Viscous. I personally like the 4. 5. The boot fits true to size. Plenty of room in the toe box. They last me a year and half to two years. I 'm an aircraft mechanic so not a ton of walking but on my feet for 12 hours and lots of flexibility needed. My favorite part is how light they are. The speed lace hooks are durable except the small plastic in the middle for looks can pop off.

Have been wearing Targhee xx's for quite a few years. Obviously, they have worked great for me, and now my wife has a pair. I wear them year- around, on snow, ice, wet leaves, steep hillsides.... They are functionally waterproof- I wear low- profile `` walking shoes ''- not for serious stream crossing, but fine for tall wet crass ''. Only problem has been delamination and eventually leaking. Will see how the model for IV performs- just bought 3 pairs.
