This is the perfect jacket for any type of cold weather! I live in a mild winter climate but tend to visit places where it gets a little chilly and wanted a jacket that would work for all the things. I sized up to make sure I have extra room for layering. On its own, it is perfectly lightweight and but still keeps me warm. On colder days, I am able to layer a sweatshirt underneath and stay cozy. For reference, I am 5' 7 '' and typically wear a size Large; purchased an XL and it hits right below my bottom.

My first in dark olive is about 5 years old stood up well through outdoors work and chores got a bit bobbled but I gave it a shave not long ago and it looks as good as new. [ Excuse my bluntness, but you may need to bury me in this jacket because I 'm never taking it off. It's beautiful and cozy, I 'm obsessed. I got the chalk ivory with camel brown- gorgeous. The dual fabric is a great touch, plus I did n't realize the inside is lined with excellent fleece and great stitching. This thing is perfect inside and out. The hood does n't have drawstrings but is small enough and zips up high enough that feels like it would stay up nicely in wind. Zipper feels a touch flimsy starting at the bottom. Pockets could use zippers, although without this does feel like it can pass for an indoor hoodie and not just a jacket, and the lined pocket flaps are cool. The brown windbreaker material at the sleeve cuffs might be nice because I worry the sherpa will get trashed quickly, but oh well. LOVE LOVE LOVE! I got a medium and it is plenty roomy( not too much) since my other medium product felt too small. Whoever complained about taking this in the rain... shame on you, this jacket does n't deserve that!

I got this anorak as a present last year and I love it. You may hear or read comments from different people saying that it does n't work as a raincoat and they are absolutely right, but neither does a dress shoe work as a running shoe. The G- 1000 fabric works perfectly under heavy duty conditions, you wont need to repair this coat anytime soon and when the first hole appears you 'll be counting the years you 've had it with both hands. Apply Greenland wax( properly) if you want some resistance to light rain and windy days but do n't expect it to perform as a rubber raincoat because it's not made out of rubber nor is it a raincoat. Absolutely recommend this product.

It's basically perfect. I can see why people unfamiliar with Fjallraven g- 1000 and their philosophy around waxing might be upset that it's not giving them Gore- Tex performance, but that's exactly why I like it. I have all kinds of membranes for situations where I 'm trapped in downpours, but the thing I love about this anorak is that it's breathable and durable, and if I so please, I can add wax( which ins't what I want-- this is an urban jacket for me). All the details are spot on; I like the firm grip of the snap that allows you to use the size zipper to dump heat rapidly. There's no silver bullet all- situations jacket out there, so it's not the fault of this product that people have specific qualities it never attempts to pitch. I love mine, and no, will not be using it as a rain jacket.

[ Purchased this jacket for my son for a trip to Zion this January. I was looking for a down jacket that could pack down without a hood( hoods just create more bulk to try and pack down). He has n't used the jacket yet but it fits him pretty well( Large) with room to add a sweater underneath.

[ I bought this for my Dad for Christmas and he really likes it! It ’s his first down coat and he couldn ’ t believe how much warmer he was out in the cold. The black isn ’ t too shiny and the length is perfect. The fit is a bit slimmer near the hips( he ’s about 5 ’ 9 ” and 150lbs), so a tad more shape would be good. Other than that, I ’ m very happy with the purchase!
