This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. There is nothing about this jacket that I do n't like. Bravo Carhartt!

If you ’ re an outdoor enthusiast where you ’ ll be out for an extended time in- 0 temps, I ’ d look for a different jacket. This one is stylish and plenty warm for short times out in mild winter weather. I normally wear a large in clothing but typically size up in coats so I bought an XL. This is one of the more convenient running items I have ever purchased and I love it. I also like the fit, as it sits right on the waist area. I usually prefer for these to go slightly below the waist, but this one is nice as is. If you are running and get too warm the ability to change it to a vest is so convenient. It's in my backpack for every hike, and my carryon whenever I travel.
