When shopping for a kayak I was looking for one for both recreational paddling as well as for fishing. I was also looking for one that would be easy for me to load by myself onto the top of my car. After about 8 months of use I have to say I have been very pleased with my purchase so far. The kayak weighs just over 50 pounds. This kayak can be unloaded and loaded on the top of the car fairly easy once you figure out the right approach. I found that this kayak has many of the features that I saw on some of the more expensive kayaks I was looking at. The seat is amazing. It's very comfortable and can be adjusted several ways to fit your comfort. You can easily stay on the water for several hours with this seat. Much better than some of the seats on other kayaks. The kayak has been tracking well for me and is very easy to maneuver around even when fishing. The stability is good but would not recommend trying to stand on it. I 've been very happy with all the accessories. The rod holders have worked out for me so far. Easy to place and remove rods while in the seat. I really like where the waterproof hatch is located for easy access. I have n't had any issues with water getting into the compartment like others have mentioned, but I do still put my valuables in a small waterproof bag which fits perfectly into the hatch. The front rails could be positioned a little better but have n't had an issue with adjusting my gear on it. Plenty of space in the back well to add a crate or carry a cooler. As a whole I would recommend this for those looking for a budget kayak with still be being able to get a lot of the features you will see on more expensive models.

This is an absolutely excellent kayak for beginners and seasoned kayakers alike. The width of the Passage offers exceptional stability, while its shorter length makes it easy to maneuver through both large and small bodies of water. The seat is surprisingly comfortable even when sitting for 3+ hours. Although this is not classed as an angler kayak, the built- in paddle keeper makes it easy to bring a rod and reel along if desired. The back scupper holes also fit my poles perfectly, so they may as well be flush mounted rod holders! My only qualm with this yak is the lack of storage/a dry well- if it had that, it would be the perfect yak. This has been a great purchase, and I love that it fits both myself( 5' 1 '') and my 30lb pup. It's also fairly light and not as much of a pain to lug around as I expected, which is a big bonus!

The kayak felt incredibly stable, even sitting on top, and paddling was smooth and easy. The departure was seamless, and the back support was very comfortable throughout my time on the water. There ’s plenty of legroom, which is a big plus, and the cup holder and fishing pole spots are well- placed and convenient. The straps on the back hold our life vests nicely. The reclining seatbacks are nice as well, except one of straps sometimes breaks free if you lean back to hard. Might have to fix that one. My husband and I purchased this after experiencing a tandem kayak for the first time while on a cruise. At first I thought it would be difficult to paddle as a team but it was the most fun we 've had in awhile! The Perception Rambler has a bit of weight to it but between the two of us we can easily carry it to the water. The weight also lends itself to stability both getting into the kayak as well as during turbulence on the water. Overall construction and performance aside, it's beautiful! I bought the Pelican Classic 120 a month ago. I have been out in it several times and will agree with other reviews that say it is comfortable, quite stable and needs tracking help in any wind. I ended up building a skeg for it rather than order options found on line. The skeg improved tracking in wind greatly. Paddling is fine but it is not a fast kayak by any means. Mostly due to the hull design. It does have a good load capacity which came in handy paddling in bundles of firewood to a remote campsite in VT. I have no regrets with the purchase and will recommend to those wanting a decent fishing kayak.

I was so pleased with my 2021 Sportsman Topwater PDL 106 that I purchased a 2022 Sportman PDL 106 so I could take a friend and/or family member out fishing with me. It's stable enough that I can stand up to work the flats of South Texas and light enough to load/unload onto a truckbed or trailer with relative ease. Navigates creeks, rivers, bays and open water well. Very minimal amount of maintenance required to keep the PDLs running smoothly, even with running mostly exclusively in brackish and/or saltwater. Everyone who loves kayak fishing should have an Old Town!

I spent about a year and a half living in a downtown apartment with a parking garage. I got into a PDL 106 because I could store it hanging out the back of my truck bed and still park in the garage. This kayak has all the stability and most of the space compared to a Bigwater PDL but even more maneuverability. It is a little bit slower than other PDL models but I have no problem maintaining 3mph, even into the wind. I used this kayak as my main tournament rig for two seasons, a handful of B. O. S. events and many local Oklahoma events. This kayak is the perfect compact tournament platform for those that do n't want to trailer a huge kayak. Its very easy to get on to a kayak cart and move around. The PDL drive is amazing and of course has now been proven to be the most reliable pedal drive on the market. I ca n't think of a better pedal fishing kayak that anyone can easily throw in the back of a pickup.

My Bay St started leaking, which is also what spurred the new purchase. I paddled much more than my husband, so the Coast is in pretty good shape— but I noticed a little compromise on one of the folding corners! I might need to repair it before it leaks. I coupled with a MinnKota 45 lb. thrust trolling motor and it moves me around well. I ’ m 5 ’ 10 ” and weigh 200. I carry a 10 lb anchor which I store under the battery cover to distribute the weight. The 360 swivel works well for me. I am 70 and do not stand up while fishing but I know much younger people could. I ’ ve landed several 5 lb. bass on an ultralight rod in it.

This isnt an inexpensive kayak but you get more than what you pay for in a stabile one person fishing craft that is packed with good features. Are the flaws? Sure there are some things they might want to consider such as the raised track handles put quit a bit on leverage on the hull but having those tracks there opens up all kinds of possibilities. This was my first yak and I ca n't imagine I could have bought any better this boat is as much fun as it is functional. One suggestion for future models is a sucken battery well to lower the center of gravity a bit and to help keep the battery in place.

Reviewing this from the POV of an end user& tech fabric geek. Love the materials of the MH AirMesh. Already have the hoody; just bought the crew. Agree w/ those who say it's very warm when at standstill or w/ a wind layer over top, yet while moving or with wind and no wind layer it's like being naked. To me that says the fabric is functioning precisely how a base layer shoulder. Only con is hypothetical: delicate fabric. I 've had no issues with snags, pilling, abrasion, etc. But I would n't be surprised were I to, given the softness of the fibers and the openness of the fabric they 're arranged into. Cut/fit are unremarkable w/ exception of the somewhat high neck hole and the different accent fabric used there. Packs tiny, resilient fibers bounce back into shape immediately. Most comparable to the Patagonia Cap Air wool base layer, minus the itchiness/roughness and the ultra premium price point. Also, like Polartec Power Stretch pro, but much lighter and more airy fabric, fwiw.

In the first image, it is very light and breathable, but the fibers inside seem to be easily lost, and there are some fibers in the hand after a little scratch. I am 167cm tall and my bust is 98cm, so I wear a size M which is very comfortable. I bought 2 at the same time, for me it should be good for sweating a lot without losing warmth. I tried wearing it the other way around and it was a different feeling, like a normal sweatshirt. A very special piece of clothing, worth trying. It's a great base layer and good for cool/cold weather chillin'. Be aware that there is zero wind blocking- it's a mesh fabric- you must have a shell if you 're hiking/skiing/walking to mailbox. That said- I 've hiked in 15- 20F with wind and just this base and a heavy shell no problem. Note: It's very `` roomy ''.
