Fit a few days worth of clothes, and all of my fly gear on a recent weekend trip to Aruba. 9 wt 4 piece tube fit well in the bag. When my flight was delayed, I had to hop in a cab from the airport to the marina, and out to the flats. The Panga kept everything dry, including my iPad and electronics. The 75 fit in the overhead no problem on an AA Airbus 319. It ’s currently packed for NYC and a weekend with the wife for previews of Escape to Margaritaville. I already own and love an Away carry- on suitcase; it is my go- to bag for weekend trips. But for longer stays, I tend to prefer a soft- sided suitcase so I can have the option to pack a bit more and expand the suitcase. So, I was thrilled to see this new design from Away and even more thrilled to receive one as a sample. I used it on a recent trip and it is really the best of all worlds; the durability and stability of a hard- shell case with the flexibility to pack lightly and keep the duffel in its slim profile OR truly expand it and max it out( it can fit a lot, much more than I 'd need for a weeklong stay). Plus, tons of convenient outer pockets which I love for last- minute items, gifts, or things I 'd like to keep close at hand. I love that it has a hard shell on the backside of the bag so it can be laid down to pack easily. It also has fold out metal legs on the inside that help to support the bottom of the duffle bag so it will stand up on its own when it is packed. A secure garment strap on the inside will help keep those dress pants from being too wrinkled and multiple pockets for all the other items you need to bring with you. It even has expansion straps to help secure and support the bag. The handle glides smoothly up and down and the wheels are nice and heavy duty to withstand whatever obstacles you have to pass. This bag is perfect for casual trips like camping or vacation trips, and it can even be used for long business trips. The bag is very sleek and classy looking. I got this bag so I could just take one checked bag for my family ’s gear when we go on ski trips. I love the fact that it has wheels because, even though I love to look tough carrying 30 bags hanging off my neck and shoulders I ’ m just getting too old for that. The bag has a ton of space, in fact it is enough space to fit my whole families ski clothes plus our winter boots, freeing up space in our personal bags for our daily use items. No worries with setting on the ground when picking it up dirt, etc stays on the underside. Love having access through the top. Also great having a duffel for kick around use. Just pull the cubes out.

This was my main bag for the trip and it worked out great. I was able to use this for in and out of motels along the way. I was somewhat careful with how to treat this bag, but realistically, I tossed it in the back of the truck several times, and even with the every day abuse of traveling this way, the bag held up wonderfully and looks brand new. As with all of the design products, this is another outstanding bag.

[ I brought the Thule Chasm along for a cross- country road trip( Denver- Maryland- up to New York) and then used it as a carry- on for a flight to the Dominican Republic — and it fit everything I needed, keeping it dry and contained. I also really like the calming color( easy to spot) and the handle design, which makes it comfortable to pull through airports or grab quickly out of a trunk. It ’s compact enough to fit in an overhead bin but still has plenty of space for both wedding attire and beach attire for a full week. One thing to note: it only has wheels on one side. While that means fewer things that can break, it makes adding luggage on top a little harder to navigate. The main zipper is durable and I like that its tucked under a flap, keeping everything weather resistant- especially nice when traveling in the tropics with frequent passing rain. Amazing bag! So much space and is mostly water proof. I love the extra pocket in the inside and the pocket of the outside. The extra handles and backpack straps are super nice to have. The zippers are a little clunky and stick sometimes. Overall an amazing purchase.
