This shirt is so comfortable, lightweight, and looks great. I 'm 6'0 190lbs and bought a medium, and it's not tight, not too baggy. I can move easily and wear it comfortably in summer here on the Colorado Plateau without worrying about sunburn on my arms, and it breathes wonderfully. I 'm about to buy this shirt in the other colors because not only can I wear it on trails but it also looks nice in town and at dinners.

5 Japes
It good, buy it. Kind of sweat more than usual in it, but it dries quick and doesn ’ t feel too hot. Best in breeze.

5 OR Employee Sam - Customer Service
I 've been using this for a couple months now and really like it! I 've found it cuts ~75- 80% of felt wind and even as a softshell shrugs occasional rain pretty well. Mine wet out after about 25 minutes in light/medium rain and when soaked was n't transferring much water to my baselayer. Perfect when you really should 've brought a Helium Rain but you did n't. While not quite breathable enough for me when running unless its real cold( I 'm a warm person) it's great for everything less aerobic than that for me. The cuffs are elastic on the inside of your wrist which works well with a watch. The single hood cinch works well to keep your hood on while minimizing adjustments. Pocket linings double as vents, are big enough for a smartphone or light gloves, and are not sewn down at the top allowing you to stash your map or mail in a pinch. The Hood stow works well when you plan to use it, but I did find myself just tucking the hood inside if I was in a rush and could n't be bothered to roll it up. The hem cinch is located on the right side and is easy to adjust one handed and has low profile hardware which is fine under a backpack belt. I 'm 5'11/ 210#/ 43 '' chest and wear a Men's Large size tshirt and find the size large fits me perfectly with a trim fit. Key for me with fit is that in my other OR jackets like the Foray and Superstrand I 've needed to size up to XL to have the hem fit over my butt. Not so with the Ferrosi- the stretchiness of the fabric and cut works perfectly for me. I normally wear an echo or vigor top underneath mine and layer any insulation over. If I wanted to put insulation under the Ferrosi I would need to size up once. The jacket is lighter, and more flattering than my other windshell from another company. Combined with the comfiness of the stretch I 've found myself grabbing it when just going out running errands and it's almost always at the top of my pack heading out into the woods now.

5 Jose
Jacket is light weight and durable looks great……..

5 Cheese sandwich
It fits nicely, is sleek and comfortable. I can move around easily, and as an outer layer it offers exactly what I need.

5 Alexandre P
Perfect softshell! I have been using it for daily commute, rock climbing and everything in between. It breaths nicely and cuts the wind just enough to protect you from the element. The fabric is nice and stretchy. With a base layer or insulated jacket under it, it is really versatile. Everybody can benefit from that product. Jacket is true to size

5 Arion H
I really enjoy this material and the stretch it gives. Tons of uses: gym, walkabout town, Florida in November, shell over down, New Mexico summer nights or August winds, and early morning range days. I appreciate the extra attention to detail in the areas where someone would have a lot of contact or friction like carrying a pack.

bomb proof on a storm day but also vents well for backcountry. Versatile and very easy to move in.

5 Brett H
I really like this jacket as it is lightweight and performs well for backcountry skiing. It does have a little bit of a tight fit around the mid- section, which does n't bother me as a rather slim person, but I could see it being tough for bigger folks. It definitely works well with a backpack, which I 'm assuming is why it is tighter in the mid- section.

I bought these as a gift for my partner. He wanted a pant that he could wear to work and on the trail. These were the perfect pant for him. The light weight technical fabric is cool and comfortable. Meanwhile the silhouette has sleek lines so he can get away with wearing them to work. Highly recommend!

5 K W.
What I love about the Coraje Tech Pant is how they do n't look like `` hiking gear '' but perform like it. The material is surprisingly lightweight yet feels incredibly durable. I appreciate Cotopaxi ’s commitment to ethical manufacturing, which makes me feel even better about the purchase. They ’ ve become my go- to for travel because they ’ re breathable and resist wrinkles. A perfect blend of style and substance.

Light, breathable, stretchy, and minimalist. Great shell for hiking, running, skiing, or just walking around town. The' cenote' blue is just right.

5 Jeff
Love this piece so far. I 'm 6'4 '', 250lbs and the XL fits me great. I typically need to order XLT shirts but this is sized well for me. Sleeves are good length but would n't have minded another inch. Thumb holes would have been nice. I have to maneuver a little to get it over my chest( 46 inch) but it's not a problem, just noticeable. The material has a nice stretch to it. Might have a shirt on underneath or nothing under depending on temperature and wind. Love the hood fit with or without a hat. Zipped up the hood stays on well. Zippers work well. I 've washed it several times now and the material and color still look new. Washing on delicate and hang dry. I like it so much I might get another.

5 D S
Absolutely love this shirt. It ’s made of magic. Awesome for summer around water. Dries very quickly. Can wear swimming instead of sunblock. Keeps the sun off you and keeps you cool as it breathes well. Also keeps you warm as the sun goes down. I have a bunch of these. I wear them all the time! Great for most outdoor activities.

5 z4a
Great improvements from last year. I liked the trail sender shorts from last year and these improve on the previous version in several ways. First, the best thing about the previous version is the ultra lightweight ripstop fabric and how well it performs in hot weather- the only comparable pants I ’ ve found in weight are the Patagonia Terrebonne joggers, and these are somehow feel even cooler in hot( 90+ F) humid weather. The new 2024 version feels like it has the same fit, but improves on some annoyances from last year: 1. The waistband is slightly elastic, which is more comfortable from previous near 0 stretch 2. The pockets are deeper and the zip pocket has been moved from the front thigh to the side hip. This is a big improvement where your phone no longer barely fits in the pocket or runs up against your hipbone when sitting 3. The construction feels higher quality and more premium. Too early to tell on how durability will compare but definitely feels like it ’ ll perform better Very happy with all the changes made!

[ Employee of mountainhardwear] I 'm a big fan of the Ghost Whisperer, and I have been wearing them pretty much every day, in the winter, for the last 8 years. The new UL takes it to the next level. It's lighter but warmer, which is crazy! This is for sure one of MHW's unique and milestone garments, and a must have for anyone who likes being warm. There's definitely no excuse for not carrying it with you, it's tiny.

5
[ Employee of mountainhardwear] light, compact, warm I wear it or have it in my backpack every day

5 Garrett Madison
This jacket is a great improvement upon the previous Ghost Whisperer jacket in that it's lighter and warmer. I ca n't think of a better jacket to keep warm while minimizing weight in the mountains. I also end up wearing it in town as it's very comfortable. I think this is the only 1000 down fill power jacket available on the market today.

5 Karl
Super light and super warm! Only comments for 2. 0 would be a double- sided zipper on the pocket so you can stuff the jacket in it, and a drawstring on the hood.

5 Nobelnd

4 Patrick M
Definitely a jacket for specific shoulder season weather: colder, semi- dry days. It's a warm jacket that sadly does n't have pit zips to let heat out when the hiking/climbing gets going. I had to fully unzip the front and leave it open. Would n't use it as a rain jacket. Could be used as a light snow jacket. I 've been using it as a springtime( and fall) belay jacket and it works great. If you get caught in a drizzle the repellancy works shedding water and wind. Love the soft, stretch fabric that does n't restrict moment and allows me to wear just a t- shirt underneath if need be. Big pockets all with good zippers and it packs into its own pocket. The hand cuffs are interesting and remind me of cycling jackets that are longer on top to keep water off the back your hands. It has stretch band cuff on the underside along wrist. So far i have n't had issue with them, but i worry the elastic will one day no longer be tight and the cuff could be baggy and useless. Maybe they should have stuck with classic Velcro straps to adjust cuff tightness-- only time will tell. Overall i like the jacket as my backup for when i do n't expect bad weather but need something just in case. A great jacket for walking around town too.

4 Mathias
Really nice soft shell, super stretchy, the hood is particularly well designed. My main critiques are its fit is a little on the tight and smaller side compared to what i 'm used to from MH, and i wish it had a chest zipper, as I find that quite useful in jackets.

Was looking for some lounging shorts- and these are near perfect. I have not been able to find that mesh pocket on the center back... nor did my pair have the Nut logo on the right rear thigh. These are n't deal breakers to me, but descriptive accuracy is lacking.

5 m_bur
I travel quit a bit and wanted a pair of shorts that I could work out in, trail run, swim in, etc. Also wanted something that would dry quickly. These are great for that. I generally wear a shorter inseam specifically or trail running, but this inseam was a more modest and `` everyday comfortable '' approach. Got the shorts with the AirShell Hoody and together they 're a great combo. Would recommend as a all purpose trail short.

5 HikeMarker
[ Employee of mountainhardwear] I 've been wearing for a few weeks. These are turning into my workout shorts. Have done done a few base training runs and they 're comfortable and feel great. I 'm not sure I would wear them on a really long run but did 90min run in them and they were great. Will use them for camping/ hiking/ swim combo this summer for sure. I 'm a 33 '' waste and the L fits great.

5 Harry
You can never have too many midlayers! This statement is always true, and that is one of the many reasons the Keele Grid hoody is something you should get. I 'm 5'9 '' 165lbs. and the medium fits comfortably. It does n't have a really technical fit like an r1; it's a more relaxed fit. This jacket is the r1 that you can wear everyday, but with pockets and way more wind resistance. I 've been grabbing this every morning when I leave the house on all these cool Spring mornings. The hood is really comfortable, and I 've always been a half- zip kind of guy, but I 'm loving the full- zip jacket feel.

5 Daniel C
I am a search and rescue volunteer and climbing wall instructor who spends my time in Arizona and Washington state. Working in a wide range of environmental conditions requires that my gear does the same. I ordered the Keele grid hoody as large, my usual size, and I found it fit true to size. The Keele hoody has performed exceptionally while climbing, traveling, and hiking. The recycled polyester double weave fabric is my favorite feature of the Keele. Its brushed back grid interior is soft and wicks moisture well while the DWR coating on the exterior provides durability and water resistance. Even when soaked through, the Keele kept me warm climbing in less- than- ideal conditions. The three- piece hood functions incredibly well and I found it fit over or under a climbing helmet. I have thoroughly enjoyed using the Keele and recommend it as a base or mid layer for nearly any outdoor endeavor.

5 pbetts
I am a rock climbing guide who guides across Colorado and Utah and its important for me to have gear that works well, is durable and looks professional. I was excited for this hoody to arrive as it checked a lot of those boxes for me. The large fits ideally for me at 6'2 '', 215lbs and long arms. I have a bit of an issue in the past with MHW sizing as it seemed I was right in between a L and XL but this jacket fits wonderfully. The waterproofing is functional if you are stuck in some light rain, as the water will bead right off. The brushed grid interior gives the hoody that cozy feel which means you 'll never want to take it off. It is a lot denser of a hoody than I was expecting but that's a positive in my books. I really think this hoody is for anyone who wants a full zip mid layer jacket but it will find itself at home the most in the backpacks of you Spring rock climbers!

5 PO
I work as a climbing guide in Colorado, so my work takes me to a variety of locations and climates. My initial guess as to what the Keele would be like was similar to other grid fleeces: lightweight and flexible. The latter is more true than the former. This layer was surprisingly heavy- and I think that's fantastic. It presents a different layering option than other mid- layers that tend to strive to be light. The inner fabric is extremely soft, so it feels great next to skin. I was caught in a mild drizzle and the outer fabric did a great job beading water and not letting me get soaked. I 'm 5'10 '' 165 and it felt just a hair big on me. If it was colder( ice climbing or mountaineering) I would appreciate the room to layer. As the only mid- layer I was wearing it was just a slight bit big, but I did n't find that problematic at all.

5 Skyler
Bought this for a recent Rainier climb. Excellent layering piece to pair with my Ghost Whisperer. Good wind protection bit still breathes well during high exertion. I am 6' tall and 195 lbs. The Large fits perfectly. Would definitely buy again.

One of the best down jackets ever. Super lightweight, warm, and packable. One of the most useful things in my pack.

5 Dave29
I 've only had this jacket for about a month. I 'm 6'2 '' /175, wiry and can leap tall buildings in a single bound. Right. Anyway, I usually wear the jacket to walk the dog at 5: 30 am and it's been upper 30's. The jacket is super light and blocks the wind very well as long as you cinch around the bottom. I like it to fit a little roomy, but I could easily fit into a medium, which is unusual for me. I 'm typically a large. I have n't seen the jacket perform in the rain or snow yet, but have no doubt it will do extremely well. I used the hood once on a windy night and it kept my neck and head very warm. I 've also worn the jacket over just a t- shirt when it was about 40 and it kept me warm. Everyone has their own cold tolerances, but I enjoy being warm and usually need a good jacket to achieve that. The only semi- negative with this jacket is the zipper, which seems a little fragile. It gets hung up at the bottom and does n't release until you pull with the other hand. That said, it's working fine. There are plenty of other jackets that are probably as warm and pretty light for less money. I splurged on this and enjoy the light weight. Get the jacket if you wan na treat yourself.

5 kyild
Best jacket I ever owned. It is compact light and warm, I take it with me to every hike or ski trip. It is awesome to wear it daily as well.

5 Drewsufer
This Jacket is ballz- mazing, fits great, and keeps me warm a sheeet. Plus I have fallen off a longboard on to asphalt at a decent speed and it help up for the most part. The only part that rip was my sleeve on impact then slid on my back, no rips there. So ya pretty tuff for being so thin.

Frequently Asked Questions For Men's Climbing Clothes

When selecting men's climbing clothes, consider features that enhance mobility and comfort. Look for lightweight, breathable materials that wick moisture away from the skin, as well as stretchable fabrics that allow for a full range of motion. Additionally, consider clothing with reinforced seams and durable construction to withstand the rigors of climbing. Features like sun protection and quick-drying capabilities can also be beneficial for outdoor adventures.

To choose the right size for men's climbing apparel, start by measuring your chest, waist, and inseam to find your corresponding size on the brand's sizing chart. Consider the fit you prefer; some climbers opt for a more fitted style for better movement, while others may prefer a looser fit for comfort. Additionally, pay attention to the material and stretch of the fabric, as this can affect how the clothing fits during climbing activities. Trying on different styles and sizes can also help you determine the best fit for your needs.

When selecting materials for men's climbing clothes, look for fabrics that offer durability, breathability, and moisture-wicking properties. Synthetic materials like polyester and nylon are commonly used for their lightweight and quick-drying characteristics, while blends that include spandex can provide added stretch for better mobility. Additionally, some climbing apparel may feature water-resistant or insulated materials to enhance performance in varying weather conditions. Choosing the right combination of these materials can help ensure comfort and functionality during climbs.

Yes, there are specific styles of climbing clothes designed for various types of climbing activities. For instance, lightweight and breathable fabrics are often preferred for sport climbing and bouldering, as they allow for greater mobility and comfort. In contrast, more durable and weather-resistant materials are typically used for trad climbing and alpine climbing, where protection from the elements is essential. Additionally, features like stretch, moisture-wicking properties, and reinforced areas can enhance performance and comfort across different climbing environments.

Men's climbing clothes for warm weather are typically made from lightweight, breathable materials that wick moisture away from the skin, helping to keep climbers cool and comfortable. These garments often feature short sleeves or tank tops and may include ventilation options to enhance airflow. In contrast, cold weather climbing clothes are designed to provide insulation and protection from the elements, often incorporating thicker fabrics, layering systems, and features like hoods and cuffs to retain warmth.
