I 've owned many pairs of the original Stretch Zion shorts and now have moved to the new version. The new Stretch Zion II is has a few changes, but in my opinion, they are still a great pair of shorts. The minor changes like the plastic button and the new fabric still work fine and did n't bother me. Going to the plastic button from the metal one only took a few times of wearing them to get easier to button. The new fabric is still super soft and comfortable but has a sort of shine to it when the light hits them just right. Not a big deal for me. The things that make these my favorite shorts are the comfortable fabric, the adjustable waist band, the color options, and the different pockets. They are also very versatile, I can wear them for activities like hiking and also to a nice restaurant. I own multiple pairs because I wear them all summer.

I travel quit a bit and wanted a pair of shorts that I could work out in, trail run, swim in, etc. Also wanted something that would dry quickly. These are great for that. I generally wear a shorter inseam specifically or trail running, but this inseam was a more modest and `` everyday comfortable '' approach. Got the shorts with the AirShell Hoody and together they 're a great combo. Would recommend as a all purpose trail short.

Ablsolutly love the AP pants so decided to try out these shorts. I now have 5 of them and use them as work shorts/ everyday shorts. Quality is outstanding. Back pockets have zippers which is awesome. Side pocket has velcro which so far has not worn out but I have only had them for a couple months. The side pocket is small just enough for an iPhone se. anyway.... mountain hardware please do not stop making these shorts.

[ As soon as I took these shorts out of the package, I could tell they are made with excellent material. Personally, I prefer the tighter fit in the thigh over something baggier. Good articulation for hiking, biking, and climbing. Velcro phone pocket is a huge plus, too.
