I 've been trying to use hats that were too small for far too long. They always gave me a headache. I finally did some research and ran across Sunday Afternoons which has some nice brimmed XL hats and I got this one. The fit is perfect and always felt secure even upwind. I bought this hat for a recent trip to Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands. It exceeded my expectations; it was simply outstanding. It is lightweight, breathable and provides significant coverage from the sun. Obviously, the equatorial sun can be brutal but this hat kept my face, neck and ears covered from the rays. I got this hat because the brim is slightly smaller than my full on sun hat, so it ’s not as awkward to wear in the car or indoors, but still provides a good amount of sun protection. I got the goldenrod color, and it ’s a little darker in person, but still a cool color. It does seem to run a little small compared to my other hats of the same size, so if you ’ re in between sizes, probably best to size up. Oh, and the sunglasses holder is awesome! After having them in a couple of sun hats, I would never want to buy one without.

This hat is great for very sunny conditions here in the south. I it not heavy or bulky like some wide brim hats. Cleans well and very easy after use. Wear them all the time when out in the sun for extended periods.

The hat is a solid hat from Outdoor Research. It reminds me of one of my favorite hats from 4- 5 years ago from OR. The hat is a mid crowd hat compared to other older models breathable trucker hats. The material breaths well and the adjustment system is simple and easy to adjust on windy days. You can throw it in your bag in the morning and wear for happy hour beers after a ride.
