I go on birdwatching trips, and on a bird- watching Safari, we were advised to be sure the hat we wore would n't obstruct the view of others in the vehicle, so I chose this hat. It was perfect for the trip, and it turned out to provide outstanding protection from the sun in general. As a bonus, it was a bug deterrent! I 've worn the hat so often that it is starting to wear out, so I 've just ordered another one.

I have three of these hats. I keep one in the car and one in my backpack so I always have it on hand. I am a redhead and these do the best job of protecting my neck, scalp, and face of any hat I have owned. I also love the folding brim so it can go in a pocket. It stays on well in windy conditions if you snap it under your chin. I wish it came in more colors. Fun ones. I would love orange or teal or fuchsia.

This hat is very comfortable and offers excellent sun protection. It is a smaller hat as in the headpiece is not deep like a trucker hat. I got a medium and it fits perfectly. Having a less deep headpiece makes it possible to wear sunglasses or over the ear earphones comfortably. The sun cape is attachable by to buttons. The adjustable chin strap allows you to keep sun protection even in windy conditions.

This hat is cool because it has a brim for sun protection but it's not huge and floppy. Size up for a bit more brim, or down for a more compact brim.
