[ I read a lot of reviews and chose my sizing very carefully and am so pleased with the product. For reference, I ’ m 5 ’ 2 130ish lbs and usually go for a small for fitted, medium for a little room. I knew i wanted this as a shell for layering, so I gambled and got a large. I ’ m so happy with the fit for a petite person! It ’s pretty boxy as expected, but due to the cropped nature of the jacket, it fits as a regular length jacket should fit me( but without being too long like they usually are) arms on the large fit properly( almost too short even), so I definitely understand the recurring complaint about the sleeve length being short. Can ’ t attest to the rainproof aspect yet, but judging by other reviews, I ’ m confident it will work.

I normally get a size M for comfort and I like baggier fits. I am 5'5 '' and usually a 28 '' waist. I think the M fits well around the waist but the location of the pockets feels a bit low for me. This rain trench is pretty great. There do n't seem to be a lot of rain coats that are thigh length, so I love this about it. I was also looking for a 2- way zipper and a waist cinch when I was shopping for a rain jacket, so check and check! I 've had my RG foray for a little over 3 years and it's been pretty good to me. I 've mostly worn the puffer by itself in cool weather. There's little wind resistance to it, so be warned. Otherwise it's a good standalone layer on even the coldest days for short exposure times. I 've had to wear the jacket on several rainy days, and the full system during an Easter trip to the UK in' 23. Scotland, Wales, and northern England are n't known for great weather in March and this trip was no exception. We endured near constant wind and periodic rain& sleet. When we went to London it rained for several hours one day and we were in it at its hardest. The fabric shed water well without getting soaked, as I 'd expect from OR. All in all, it's a good buy.

After getting through a NYC December/January where conditions ranged from 40F with heavy rain to nearly 10F with strong wind and snow, I can officially say I love this jacket. It ’s very stylish and the warm adjustable hood is a highlight. I prefer the flexibility of having a versatile “ lighter ” jacket that can get through three seasons but this jacket isn ’ t super light. When it got down into the 20s, I just layered with a light insulated vest and the jacket remained effective. I don ’ t understand some of the complaints in other reviews… two- way zippers are always a little more difficult to zip up but with the longer length of the jacket, it ’s well worth it. And no, my arms didn ’ t get cold in the jacket either.

This jacket is super high quality and is warm, waterproof and windproof. I ’ m 5 ’ 11 ”, 190lbs, athletic build. The Men ’s size medium fits perfect, with room for layers without being too small or too big. It is long below the waist so there is a double zipper to allow you to manuever into your car or a chair without pulling the jacket up to your waist. I removed the faux fur from my hood, it comes off easily with buttons. The fur just wasn ’ t my style. A few people complained about the double zipper, which is plastic( not metal), and is a YKK branded zipper. I ’ ve had no issues with the double zipper. Someone complained about the arm length. There are velcro cuffs so you can control how low you want the cuffs to go. No issues for me there. Bonus: there are two zippered hidden pockets, one on the inside of the main vertical zipper and one on the outside of the zipper. This outside pocket allows you to access items without unzipping the coat. Another bonus: there are two large pockets on the inside of the coat large enough to store ski googles. I happily store my winter scarf in there for when the temperature drops down and the wind picks up. Chest- level hand warmer pockets are comfortable and fantastic for walking or standing in the cold. I wore this coat for a trip in Seattle during the cold and rainy October season and it kept the wind and rain at bay, no wind or water got through. I ’ ve wearing this coat here in Orlando, FL for the cold winter months and have stayed quite warm and cozy! Keep in mind, this is the “ Nuuk Lite Insulated ” version so it ’s perfect for Seattle or Orlando. Fjallraven makes a warmer version called “ Nuuk Insulated ” which is probably more suited to arctic places like snowy parts of Canada or New England. I highly recommend!

This rain jacket is super impressive. When it comes to traveling, camping, hiking, or even exploring new cities, countries, etc. You ca n't beat the portability of this jacket. It is super thin and light making it easy to roll up and store into any type of bag weather it's a backpack, purse, or even large fanny pack. Even for being so light and thin, it easily stops water from getting through. I 've had zero issues with any type of moisture getting inside either due to prolonged periods of water exposure or leaks through any seals and stitching. I will say, because it's so thin, in colder weather, you would need a warmer layer underneath to act as insulation. That being said, you might need to get one size up than normal so it can fit over any layers you need. Also, if you are traveling through any thick brush or scraping up against rocks, you need to be careful about scraping or snagging any sharp/rough surfaces too hard to prevent any micro/macro tears in the material. Being so thin, it's not super durable, but it's not very easily torn either. Overall fantastic product and highly recommend

This shell has proven a perfect addition to time in the elements where protection is critical and weight is a factor. I have used this on a several volcano ski missions this past summer and spring. It packs light and provides the summit protection needed when wind is ripping and body temps are dropping. Marmot allotted a good amount of pockets without going overboard and the pit zips provide ventilation that allows you to tune your protection on the move without having to stop to layer up or down. When it comes to rain protection, it's hard to beat Gore. It also vents well for active pursuits.

I needed a jacket that would perform in a variety of extreme environments when going inside was not an option. This jacket filled this role perfectly and has kept me dry while exploring the north Maine Woods more recently while hiking through the cloud rain forest in Costa Rica. On a cool rainy day, you can keep warm with all the vents closed and a puffy underneath. While in warmer humid weather, just open the massive vents on the sides and keep dry while still being able to `` breath '' and stop sweat from soaking you from the inside out. It is very weight efficient, easily packed, and well cut for the active user. The chest pocket is also a favorite feature of mine to safely store a cell phone while on the move yet keeping it easily accessible.

I was somewhat hesitant as they moved away from Gore but seeing it in person I am 100 percent a fan and it's better in every way. [ Very happy with this coat. It breathes very well so you do n't feel like a wet sock during a humid/raining day. The color looks great and it does take a little bit get used to the zipper being opposite than normal.

I live in New England, and I 'm traveling to `` old '' England later this year. Between our record rainfall back home and variable conditions across the pond, I needed a good raincoat. Cue* hours* of research, which landed me here. So far I 've worn this coat out in several storms for 10- 20min at a time( walking the dog) and after a quick shake off in the mudroom, it's completely dry. And so am I! Plus it's quiet, blocks wind, and the material has a nice matte finish. The colors are lovely, classy green shades that go with everything. Got a medium and there's room to layer a fairly bulky coat or sweatshirt underneath but it's not huge if I 'm just in a t- shirt. I 'm 5'6 '', athletic 150lbs, 37- 27- 38. I 'm literally excited to camp and hike in the rain this summer now that I 'll have this coat to protect me. Now I just want OR to make a matching one for the dog.

I love the 3 in 1 concept. This is a very warm jacket and can be written in multiple ways. Sometimes I wear just the shell or just the liner. I wish I knew what other liners would zip into the shell just for variety.

[ I bought this as a gift for my husband for an upcoming trip. He is 6' and around 190 lbs, and I got him the XL. The sleeves are a bit long but they do have velcro to adjust and tighten them around the wrist. It's roomy but great for layering, though I think if he were ever to pull out the inner layer of the thin down shell, the outer jacket would be huge on him. The length is great for his longer torso, it covers his butt well. He had requested no hood and this one is detachable( not easy to find a decent ski jacket without a hood!) so another win!

You CAN layer in other rain coats but when you just want a quick trip to take the dogs out in the rain in the cold weather nothing beats a warm rain coat when you don ’ t need a heavy winter coat. I ’ m 5'7 '' and 175 lbs, and the large fits me perfectly with plenty of room to layer underneath. The material feels well- made and durable. I also appreciate how it builds on design elements from their other jackets that I liked, such as the cinched waist. I returned it at the store and after trying them on I got a Large in Stone. It is still comfortable with a sweatshirt underneath and the slightly fitted look creates a better silhouette. The stone is really pretty and a nice departure from typical black. It kept me warm in 37 degree weather yesterday. I spilled salsa on it and it came right off without staining since it is rain- proof material — hoping that will keep the stone color clean.
