It was plenty warm enough for cool evenings and at high elevations. But the best feature of this jacket is the hood. The hood fits so well around your face and neck. I got this for an upcoming trip to Ireland. I am 5' 1 '' and a size 25 waist but I got a size S so I can still wear sweaters underneath. It's so cute and exactly what I was looking for! So far I 've worn it during heavy rain while walking my dog and I stayed completely dry. I like the little flap on the hood so rain does n't get in your face as easily. I like the adjustable waist and hood. I would 've preferred buttons or some other way to secure the front flap as opposed to the velcro but it is n't that big of a deal to me. It feels well made and is warm without making me hot. It does look like a heavier coat because of the insolation but it's pretty light.

After getting through a NYC December/January where conditions ranged from 40F with heavy rain to nearly 10F with strong wind and snow, I can officially say I love this jacket. It ’s very stylish and the warm adjustable hood is a highlight. I prefer the flexibility of having a versatile “ lighter ” jacket that can get through three seasons but this jacket isn ’ t super light. When it got down into the 20s, I just layered with a light insulated vest and the jacket remained effective. I don ’ t understand some of the complaints in other reviews… two- way zippers are always a little more difficult to zip up but with the longer length of the jacket, it ’s well worth it. And no, my arms didn ’ t get cold in the jacket either.

This jacket is super high quality and is warm, waterproof and windproof. I ’ m 5 ’ 11 ”, 190lbs, athletic build. The Men ’s size medium fits perfect, with room for layers without being too small or too big. It is long below the waist so there is a double zipper to allow you to manuever into your car or a chair without pulling the jacket up to your waist. I removed the faux fur from my hood, it comes off easily with buttons. The fur just wasn ’ t my style. A few people complained about the double zipper, which is plastic( not metal), and is a YKK branded zipper. I ’ ve had no issues with the double zipper. Someone complained about the arm length. There are velcro cuffs so you can control how low you want the cuffs to go. No issues for me there. Bonus: there are two zippered hidden pockets, one on the inside of the main vertical zipper and one on the outside of the zipper. This outside pocket allows you to access items without unzipping the coat. Another bonus: there are two large pockets on the inside of the coat large enough to store ski googles. I happily store my winter scarf in there for when the temperature drops down and the wind picks up. Chest- level hand warmer pockets are comfortable and fantastic for walking or standing in the cold. I wore this coat for a trip in Seattle during the cold and rainy October season and it kept the wind and rain at bay, no wind or water got through. I ’ ve wearing this coat here in Orlando, FL for the cold winter months and have stayed quite warm and cozy! Keep in mind, this is the “ Nuuk Lite Insulated ” version so it ’s perfect for Seattle or Orlando. Fjallraven makes a warmer version called “ Nuuk Insulated ” which is probably more suited to arctic places like snowy parts of Canada or New England. I highly recommend!

[ I bought this in Nov 2020 because I was looking for a lightweight winter jacket that I can wear as my primary jacket. I was worried it would n't be warm enough because it's not down but I can say that for non- active use, you could probably be comfortable in it down to 32 F or so. If you 're outdoors for extended periods of time( e. g. Standing outside for the bus/train, long walks), you might want something a little warmer. But for typical Philly/NYC winters, I think this is great. I also have a Fjallraven parka for when it's colder. If you 're being somewhat active, you could wear this comfortably in even colder temps. It does a good job of insulating the heat you generate from biking, jogging, brisk walking, etc. The fit is perfect for me! I have a long torso for someone my height( 5' 8 '') but it's nice and long, so I 'd guess that if you 're tall and skinny, this jacket would be great. For short torso people, it might feel long. The jacket looks great and feels like a great quality product. I hope to wear it for many years!

LOVE this jacket! I 'm 6' 2 and bought XL for extra movement and layering when snowboarding. Pros: The synthetic fill is the best I 've ever felt, I honestly thought it was down fill. I love that it stays warm and holds its lofty puffiness when in wet snow conditions. My other Sitka down jacket loses its loft quickly in the arms and back when I start perspiring from a morning of hiking or snowboarding. But's it's so soft a cozy. I often just wear a t- shirt or thin base layer under it if I 'm just staring around a camp fire. It's very warm and the hand and chin backings are super soft. Cons: My only complaint is that it does n't have a well placed hood draw string for windy conditions. The single draw string on the hood is more a retention string for side to side movement of your head. And the outer fabric is very delicate, I know its gon na snag and tear on a tree branch one of these days.... I personally wish it was a little bit thicker like on my wife's Expedition down jacket.

I am 5 ’ 11 ”, 180 lbs with long arms and an athletic build, and Mountain Hardware is one of the only brands with sleeves that are long enough for me to wear a medium. This jacket is a little tight in the chest, but should be fine with the stretchy material. It is warm and seemingly well made. I like the slim fit because it ’s not bulky and doesn ’ t get caught up and snagged on branches etc. the way baggy jackets can and I can wear it underneath a shell.

I really like this jacket. I had read some views and will comment first on some of the things others did not like- giving my perspective. Then will add some things I myself found I like. This jacket is fitted, especially around the chest. I got a medium and I am 5' 7 '' 160lbs, waist is 32. I actually like this because when I wear it under a shell it is not bulky. The waist is also fitted. I would say you need a trim body type for this work well, or you have to be willing to go a larger size than usual. The hood does not have a way to adjust opening while wearing this jacket alone- other than the quick let's get some cover for some rain or wind. But, under a shell is great. The shape makes it stays in place, and the if the shell is adjustable then you are set. I would not suggest wearing this only for a downpour- must use a shell, but it does take on some moisture without a problem. In terns of temperature my experience is that without activity( e. g. standing outside) this can take the 30s well( unless is very very windy). With some activity it will keep you warm enough in the 20s. The zippers work well and find myself using the top pocket to keep my phone handy and dry. I find myself wearing this very often and is `` dressy '' enough to wear casually around town.

I just got this jacket, but by first impressions of use... WOW! This thing is exactly what I wanted. I have a shell for warmer days but had to bundle too many layers to stay warm on those cold days. I run very hot while skiing, I get to the bottom and need to strip or open all my layers to not overheat. This jacket gives you breathability while carrying the insulation that keeps you warm on the chair up. Literally the only thing that could be improved is the size of the armpit ventilation. Like I mentioned above I run hot so I would have enjoyed more airflow when I open the vents. But that tiny detail is the only thing I can find at fault and it's more of a personal preference. This shell has proven a perfect addition to time in the elements where protection is critical and weight is a factor. I have used this on a several volcano ski missions this past summer and spring. It packs light and provides the summit protection needed when wind is ripping and body temps are dropping. Marmot allotted a good amount of pockets without going overboard and the pit zips provide ventilation that allows you to tune your protection on the move without having to stop to layer up or down. When it comes to rain protection, it's hard to beat Gore. It also vents well for active pursuits.

The softshell material on these trousers is indeed thicker than the standard Keb Agile, and thicker still than standard Kebs. The brushed interior is softer than both Keb variants as well. Additionally, the softshell material runs the entire length of the trousers, and the G- 1000 panels are sewn over top of it; no more chilly knees! The boot hook is back, thankfully. I did have to go one size up from my usual, `` non- improved fit '' size of Keb Agiles. These really hit that sweet spot for winter activities, stoked to put them to the test in the mountains of New Hampshire this winter.

I have been wearing this in the Bay Area in the 40s. Great jacket. Breaths well. Very light. Wind resistant, does fine in drizzle. No experience in really cold or real rain. There are no clinch cords at the bottom, though, and so I need a light vest to fill out the jacket. As for really cold, I was able to put a another layer of ghost whisperer under and, I assume, I am good to go for really cold, too. [ I really enjoyed the stretch- fit feature, I could actually be active and use my arms without the jacket riding up. Then matte- like finish is fantastic and a lot more subtle than the Ghost Whisperer finish, with a soft yet durable feel. Plenty of pockets for everything you 'd need to stash away and the chest pocket fits a rather large cellphone, I use the Galaxy S8+ with an OtterBox case so this should fit pretty much any phone on the market. I have yet to be in freezing temps but at low 40s with wind the StretchDown jacket kept me very arm, the seam welded baffles do their job. I would absolutely recommend this jacket after reviewing the Ghost Whisperer as well as options from Patagonia and Arc'teryx I decided to buy the Mountain Hardwear StretchDown Jacket and I do not regret my decision.

[ This is my favorite jacket. I probably wear it more often than I should, to be entirely honest. It's just so darn versatile, though, that I find myself grabbing this jacket in nearly any situation. The fit is perfect and the angled baffles look great on anyone. The baffles themselves are much more firm than most puffy jackets, which just feels fantastic every time you throw it on. The material is durable, and the range of motion is completely non- restricting. Interestingly, I was especially impressed by the way this jacket feels when moving between being outside/inside. I 've ridden my bicycle outside and felt toasty warm while wearing this well below 30 degrees+ windchill, but then when I go inside at 70 degrees it still feels comfortable enough that I do n't need to take it off. I think everyone should have a Stretchdown. Mine has completely changed the way I think about down jackets.

Keeps me warm in the 30s easily with just a normal shirt and a sweater. With real layers I have been able to walk approx 30 minutes round trip in the low 20s and strong winds. It ’s very warm and also gives you that psychological warmth boost of a fat, cozy puffer. The length is just right if you need a big outermost layer but don ’ t want a full parka length. I am normally between S and M for most things and a S easily fits me even with a chunky sweater. The two internal mesh pockets are clutch.

I bought these pants on a whim and have gotten a ton of use out of them during this chilly Utah winter. I work in sports and often have to look semiprofessional standing on the sidelines in the cold, used them walking the dog, Nordic skiing, and around town! The length is great at 5 10 I ordered the long. The stretch out a little bit after a day of wear but the waist is high enough that have not had any slipping. Highly recommended, I love these pants!!

I am so excited to have found these pants, they 're absolutely perfect for winter trekking and hikes. They are very comfortable and allow for a lot of movement while being durable enough to withstand scapes and such through small brush and rocks and branches. They look well tailored and sleek, and are definitely nice enough to stop somewhere and have a nice lunch in them without looking out of place. The brushed interior is warm on its own, and I have also worn them over the Bergtagen Thinwool Long Johns in- 15 with heavy wind gusts without feeling cold. I 'm 172cm and 52kg and ordered a size 36( EU) with long inseam and they are a fantastic fit.

Picked it up in store and haven ’ t stopped loving this thing since walking out of the store. When I initially got it I thought it was going to be way too thin but I was pleasantly surprised. The inner shell works amazing and it cuffs off your hands, pretty cool, def keeps warmth in. I ’ m not a hood guy but it has a great hood in case of rain. The coat is lightweight including the shell so it ’s not for standing still in a blizzard, but ideal for** city** commuting and longer walks. The whole collar and hood are so squishy and cozy, but slippery so they don ’ t make your hair wild and electrified. Great for an active person who doesn ’ t have the luxury of a preheated car to commute in the winter!!
