This flannel is wonderful! The highest level gets hot very quick. It gets very cold where I live and this helps tremendously. I can wear a shirt under this and even a jacket over it and stay perfectly warm and toasty. The battery does n't get in the way or hold a lot of weight. I have 2- I black that I 've put through the dryer, the other I 've hung dry. The one going through the dryer has got the pills( like others have mentioned). For me, they 've been indestructible. Expensive but the cost/benefit has been worth it. I 'm surprised that others have worn theirs thin- I use mine in the bush constantly and have been anything but gentle on them.
