I do n't know what dark wizard lord Cotopaxi made a deal with to find this space material, but it is the softest thing I 've ever had on my body, and I 've had literal baby faces on my body before. It's so comfortable I want to wear it even when it's crazy hot outside, and unsurprisingly it's cool and cozy even then. I bought one in all three colors available and no I 'm not embarrassed about that in the least.

This jacket is great, it reminds me of the older version of this called the Paray but this one is a little more stretchy, the sleeves were a little baggy and longer than normal so I went down to a medium. The snap button is awesome for arm mobility for tennis and venting.

Bought the seed color in Medium. Runs true to size. Photo green was a bit darker than the actual one. Would be good to see more colors as options. Fits well and i have been using it this spring for some of the local hikes in the bay area. So far so good. Will have to see how it holds up for the road ahead.

One of the best parts of this jacket is how well it holds up in gusty conditions. Even without layering heavily, I could feel noticeably less wind- chill than with my old softshell. Very happy with that. The hand pockets are secure, the sleeve pocket is handy for small stuff, and mesh pocket bags help with breathability. The drawcord hem and elastic cuffs let me tighten things up nicely when wind picks up.

Also, I kind of wanted a hooded jacket for fall, but it is warmer than it seems like it would be. It looks great& I like the light blue color. I had been monitoring North Face jacket prices at Dick's( had gift cards), and so I bought this one for the price savings offer.

I love my Cielo rain Jacket. I 'm from Malaysia, and we have crazy monsoon rain here. After the 2nd day I received the jacket, I was headed out to my first Salsa class, and it was pouring. I needed to make it there in time as it was a 40 min drive from home, but with rain and traffic, I had to use the motorbike. I thought to myself, now this would be a Super Test for the jacket. In the pouring rain, the jacket kept me warm, and rain did not enter through my cuffs which i really appreciate. Because my older jacket, wind would often ride up my sleeves. I was also grateful that my salsa shirt( not! it was more of an outdoorsie one) was dry. This would mean water did not leak through the zippers, even with wind and splashes from other vehicles. My only concern was the front pocket where i kept my phone at my chest, was very damp. Something for me to prepare next time would be a little zip lock bag to ensure important things in the pocket stay dry. On arrival, my new Salsa friends was impressed i got through the storm, and had a dry shirt on! But they laughed at my soaking wet jeans.

I am absolutely in LOVE with the color and warmth of this jacket! Just finished a Utah 10K wearing it, the weather started at 35 degrees with partial Sun and wind, and ended at 41 degrees. I wore this jacket with just a t shirt underneath, and stayed at the perfect temp the entire run!!! Omg I need more of these babies! I loved that I could fold up the hood, and all of the pockets. My last favorite detail is the hidden red buttons, as they are so cute and such a small but fun pop of color that can be hidden:)

The fit is amazing! I had to exchange the size and it was worth the wait. Living in Washington state the weather is starting to look amazing. The jacket is very light weight and layering is not a problem. This jacket will be used for both my races coming up Beat the Bridge and Rocking Roll half marathon!

I REALLY like this jacket. The material is so light for a rain jacket/wind breaker. I wouldn ’ t recommend it in heavy rain, but lighter rain yes. But it packs down so small it ’s easy to stick in your vest or just wear with the backpack straps on it so it ’s there if any wind or storms pop up.

My daughter and I both used this jacket in a 50 mile race in Montana. Thunder storms in the morning, rain and hail in the afternoon. Not waterproof but kept you warm enough in bad conditions. Especially like the backpack feature! Well designed, lightweight and even has snaps to keep jacket from flapping when unzipped

Super light and packable. It kept me nice and dry when needed. I found it runs small if you intend to put it over layers, recommend size up over a puffer like nano puff.

This rain jacket is super impressive. When it comes to traveling, camping, hiking, or even exploring new cities, countries, etc. You ca n't beat the portability of this jacket. It is super thin and light making it easy to roll up and store into any type of bag weather it's a backpack, purse, or even large fanny pack. Even for being so light and thin, it easily stops water from getting through. I 've had zero issues with any type of moisture getting inside either due to prolonged periods of water exposure or leaks through any seals and stitching. I will say, because it's so thin, in colder weather, you would need a warmer layer underneath to act as insulation. That being said, you might need to get one size up than normal so it can fit over any layers you need. Also, if you are traveling through any thick brush or scraping up against rocks, you need to be careful about scraping or snagging any sharp/rough surfaces too hard to prevent any micro/macro tears in the material. Being so thin, it's not super durable, but it's not very easily torn either. Overall fantastic product and highly recommend

This is a super light, rain shedding jacket. Is it 100% water proof? No, but no rain jacket is. It ’s breathable, and with proper mid layer moister management, you can hike all day in the rain and be as dry as you would be in any other rain jacket. Pairs great with alpha direct layer underneath.

Bought this for cycling in the light rain. Nice fit and weight. I 'm 6' 3 '' and 200 lbs. and a large is a nice slim fit. Packs down small and is easy to stow. Not 100% waterproof, but kept me mostly dry on a 3 hour downpour bike ride. If you 're on the husky side, you might size up to an XL.

OR Employee John - Customer Service Team
I was impressed with this jacket from the moment I received it. Even before wearing it, I could see that the attention to detail and quality is top- notch. The stitching, the inside seams, and the quality of materials all look and feel great right off the bat. I was not disappointed when I took this on my first rainy hike. Water beaded up nicely on the outside of the shell and the pit zips came in very handy as I started heating up. I really like that the material has a somewhat soft feel to it- its not slick like other rain jackets I 've worn in the past. The material is much quieter when moving as well. I also got several complements on the jacket from some fellow hikers( I have the Cenote version- I love the color combo!) My one wish is that that the hood brim had a little more heft to it. A slightly stiffer brim would be nice during heavy rain or windy conditions. Overall I highly recommend this jacket. Its lightweight, waterproof, and a great value given the outstanding quality and overall performance.

Trailblazer
As an avid runner and cyclist, I 've put this jacket through the wringer, and I 'm thrilled to report that it truly lives up to its promise. Let me break down why this jacket is an absolute game- changer: Versatility: This jacket adapts seamlessly to any activity. Whether I 'm sprinting on the trails or cruising on my bike, it stretches with me, allowing unrestricted movement. No more feeling constricted during intense workouts! Weather Warrior: Rain? No problem. The waterproof feature keeps me bone- dry, even during heavy downpours. But here's the magic: it's also breathable! Say goodbye to that clammy feeling- I stay comfortable and fresh throughout my activities. Perfect Fit: As a taller guy( 6' 3 ''), finding a jacket that fits well can be a challenge. But the size Large is spot- on. It hugs my frame without being too tight, and the length is just right. Effectively eliminating awkward adjustments mid- run! This jacket is my new go- to for all weather conditions. It's like having a trusty sidekick that never lets you down. If you 're serious about performance, this is the jacket for you!

I 'm a big jacket person, I have one for just about every weather situation and this is my go to in the spring and summer. It's really effective at blocking wind while I 'm biking, I 'll layer a fleece if it's chilly. During the summer it's the perfect weight for cool nights and keeping bugs off of you without overheating, it has light water resistance so this is definitely not a `` rain jacket '' but it does dry super fast if it gets wet. It packs down very small and also the perfect travel companion.
5
Dean S.
Material is flexible and light, breathes and cuts the wind. I 'm 6- foot- 2 and 160 pounds, and glad I got the XL size, even though the sizer suggested L.

Oregon C
I purchased one of these in Copenhagen 4 years ago, and have worn it on the beach in Oregon at least 500 times. There are no signs of fraying, material is still strong, zippers work great. If it rains, or excess wind demands it, the hood fits well and tightens with clever elastic locking adjusters. The length is just right for me, not too long like some. Chest pocket is perfect for keeping my wallet/ID. I have collected rocks over the years and just put them in the side pocket, and they are still strong. Light weight but excellent in windy conditions. I do n't need to replace it but after 4 years it's looking a bit faded so I ordered another one in a different color and it's on the way. Expect the new one is the same great jacket. Thank you Fjall Raven. In my entire life I do n't think I 've worn a single jacket so much, and I 've never taken the time to go online and praise a piece of clothing but this deserves that.
5
This jacket is very comfortable and has enough room to add layers and still allow mobility. It stays in my go to day pack full time. Went to New Zraland with me for more than 3 weeks!

Pete
[ Wore this on a cruise to Ireland& Scotland. It repelled wind& light rain and I found myself reaching for this jacket often. The fit is nice, I 'm 6' 4 and the XL is nearly perfect. The sleeves are little long( my size is 36/37 so this is probably 37/38) but I 'm ok with it. The front/back length is passing for my height but if the back was longer( like they do with some jackets) it would be even better. If you 're 6' 2 to 6' 3 I think the length would be perfect on both sides. The body is roomy but not baggy, and fortunately not slim fit like some. It's not the best in the cold and the material has a cool feel against the skin, so I wore this with a L/S wool baselayer. Mountain grey is a killer color, my favorite from this brand thus far. I really like they style and I got several compliments.

I live in New England, and I 'm traveling to `` old '' England later this year. Between our record rainfall back home and variable conditions across the pond, I needed a good raincoat. Cue* hours* of research, which landed me here. So far I 've worn this coat out in several storms for 10- 20min at a time( walking the dog) and after a quick shake off in the mudroom, it's completely dry. And so am I! Plus it's quiet, blocks wind, and the material has a nice matte finish. The colors are lovely, classy green shades that go with everything. Got a medium and there's room to layer a fairly bulky coat or sweatshirt underneath but it's not huge if I 'm just in a t- shirt. I 'm 5' 6 '', athletic 150lbs, 37- 27- 38. I 'm literally excited to camp and hike in the rain this summer now that I 'll have this coat to protect me. Now I just want OR to make a matching one for the dog.

Definitely a jacket for specific shoulder season weather: colder, semi- dry days. It's a warm jacket that sadly does n't have pit zips to let heat out when the hiking/climbing gets going. I had to fully unzip the front and leave it open. Would n't use it as a rain jacket. Could be used as a light snow jacket. I 've been using it as a springtime( and fall) belay jacket and it works great. If you get caught in a drizzle the repellancy works shedding water and wind. Love the soft, stretch fabric that does n't restrict moment and allows me to wear just a t- shirt underneath if need be. Big pockets all with good zippers and it packs into its own pocket. The hand cuffs are interesting and remind me of cycling jackets that are longer on top to keep water off the back your hands. It has stretch band cuff on the underside along wrist. So far i have n't had issue with them, but i worry the elastic will one day no longer be tight and the cuff could be baggy and useless. Maybe they should have stuck with classic Velcro straps to adjust cuff tightness-- only time will tell. Overall i like the jacket as my backup for when i do n't expect bad weather but need something just in case. A great jacket for walking around town too.

Really nice soft shell, super stretchy, the hood is particularly well designed. My main critiques are its fit is a little on the tight and smaller side compared to what i 'm used to from MH, and i wish it had a chest zipper, as I find that quite useful in jackets.

[ Great color- Nori- and fit. The drawstring at the bottom and velcro sleeves are priceless. Hood is big enough for helmet or winter cap. Has kept me very dry.

[ Got this jacket for a mid April snowboarding trip and was perfect. Couldn ’ t feel the wind at all and was warm with layers underneath. Great to hike in as well!

[ This jacket is of excellent quality. If you want to keep water out and are going to be in cooler temps I highly recommend it. I am using year- round for cost saving with layers or not. If I had the means I would use this only for colder temperatures which I think is what it was designed for.

Love this jacket, incredibly light and packable, breathes great, but still provides some nice light protection against wind or a light drizzle.

OR Employee (Charlie, Product Team)
I am an OR employee and have used prototype versions of this jacket over the past couple years. The fabric works very well at giving both wind and light weather protection AND breathability and stretch. For running, mountain biking and as an `` up- hill jacket '' for backcountry ski touring it is amazing because it adds warmth in cool and cold temps, but breathes enough to prevent overheating so much better than traditional windshells. And it is ultralight and highly packable. Best of all worlds.( It does not replace a rain jacket though. It is water resistant, but far from waterproof.)

I bought this to try out in spring/summer in Washington and it is fantastic. It's super light weight but does a great job at blocking the wind and light rain. The fit is trim but not overly loose( I got a large with a 41 '' chest, 6', 188 lbs). It has quickly become my go to windbreaker and has replaced my Arc'teryx Squamish hoody. Definitely worth the buy!

This jacket is extremely comfortable. I 'm 5' 6 '' with broad shoulders and a more or less triangular shape( not a body builder by any stretch, though). The medium fits me perfectly with room to layer. I expect it's long enough for taller people, too. It breaths well, provides good wind protection, and a small amount of protection from precipitation. The first time I tried running in this jacket, the hood flopped annoyingly into my field of view. I have since discovered that you can just fold the brim back once or twice to tighten up the fit. This may look a little wonky, but it works beautifully, and it's the only option, since there's no drawstring adjustment on the hood. It's very nice to have hand- warmer pockets, which many wind shells omit.

This jacket is a light, packable, and comfortable. Perfect for warm weather adventures that just need a little extra layer to block the wind. It packs down into a small pouch that can be tossed in your pack or beach bag for that `` ace in the hole '' when needed. Unlike many competing brands, this jacket is made of a very soft material and does not have the crinkle feeling like you are putting on a trash bag. Also unique to this jacket compared to it's competitor's is that it has front handwarmer pockets as well as a chest pocket( most packable options do not). The pockets in my opinion bring it from just being a quick grab backup plan to an intentionally worn and functional jacket. The chest pocket is a great spot to quickly store your cell phone and the front hand pockets give you that sensation like you just put on your favorite hoodie sweatshirt. I have worn it while hiking mountains during the summer in Maine to hanging out on the beach in Costa Rica on a windy day.

This jacket is my go to for fast and light approaches, summit pushes, rainy day runs, the ski resort or around town because of it's clean look. It seriously can handle any weather conditions and is super light so you hardly notice it in your pack or on your back. I love the backpack compatible zippers, but wish there was an extra internal chest pocket. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

I used this coat as a great shell layer while climbing the Grand Teton and I would n't wish for anything else! It was perfect!

This shell has proven a perfect addition to time in the elements where protection is critical and weight is a factor. I have used this on a several volcano ski missions this past summer and spring. It packs light and provides the summit protection needed when wind is ripping and body temps are dropping. Marmot allotted a good amount of pockets without going overboard and the pit zips provide ventilation that allows you to tune your protection on the move without having to stop to layer up or down. When it comes to rain protection, it's hard to beat Gore. It also vents well for active pursuits.

[ Employee of mountainhardwear] I have been using multiple Kor products for a while and added this one to my closet recently. It has many uses but what I use it for is early morning hikes and rides. It adds just enough warmth over a base layer to reduce the bite of morning chill. The fabric is crazy stretchy and soft, and while I have n't been rough on this one, my insulated Kor Strata is a ski layer I have hammered all season with no issue. This thing is crazy packable too so it makes it easy to shove into a pocket or my lumbar pack.

Perfect ascent shell to dump heat while breaking wind. I wear this over a 250gram smartwool baselayer while ascending mountains in 25- 45 degree weather.

There's a reason you see so many really favorable reviews of this jacket. It checks all the boxes. Packable, super light, blocks the wind, repels mist or light rain and looks great. Pull it out of your kit at a windy summit or the top of a pitch. If you are slim and athletic, it fits true to your usual size. I have a paunchy `` dad bod '', so I had to go up one size for midriff room. You wo n't have to, though. I also have the lined hoody version of this garment, and like it equally for belaying or just spectating at the base of the crag.

The build quality on this jacket is excellent. It has a softer feeling, for a hardshell, but this does not make it feel thin or cheap to me. It is quieter than other similar shells I tried on by companies like Marmot, TNF, Arc'Teryx etc., and the earth- tone inspired colors definitely help set this apart from the brighter hues of its competitors as well. I weigh 170 at 5'10 '' and the medium fits well, with some room for layering and a little room for added body weight. I 'd guess this jacket would function well up to about 180 pounds in medium with room for a lightweight down mid layer underneath. Have yet to really put this thing to a true, extended test, but I am impressed with what I have seen so far! This has seen a light, sustained rain shower, and I wore it for over an hour in a sustained snowfall. No issues with either. I purchased this and the keb eco- shell `` parka, '' not knowing which would suit me better. The parka is significantly larger than the jacket in the same size. Obviously the parka is also longer, and has some fur lining on the hood. There is a small amount of `` brushed mesh '' inulation in the body of the parka, but not enough in my opinion to truly consider it insulated in any way. It was my opinion that this took away from the parka's versatility, as it did not significantly add to using the jacket for winter weather, but the did take away from its practicality as a three or four season piece. I sent back the parka and kept the jacket. Because the back of the Jacket is cut lower than the front in order to cover the seat, I realized I would not miss the length on the parka quite as much, and I wanted the versatility of a 3- 4 season piece- ymmv. If you 're looking for a good shell that also happens to be ecologically minded in its manufacture, this is a good buy.

I love this jacket, and I fell even more in love with it when I educated myself on the process Fjallraven uses to create their waterproof breathable membrane and how it was developed and manufactured with sustainability being a priority.

Does exactly what it promises. Keeps me completely dry all day out on the trails. Has some stretch for mobility and a really great fit. Long sleeve length is excellent. Love the mess holders in the chest pockets, keeps things nice and organized.

I have owned many outdoors rain jackets and the eco- shell is hands down my absolute favorite. The four way stretch and excellent ventilation makes this a great shell for backpacking, biking and active outdoors use. The ventilation zippers( or pit zips') are LONG. This gives you lots of room to make micro adjustments to the breathability of the shell and the two way zippers can be opened from the bottom to allow the use the hand warmer pockets of a warmer layer underneath. I have used this jacket hiking, backpacking, fishing and guiding groups through the back country and have never had issues with the shell 'wetting out'. The up front price is steep but the warrantee makes this a priceless item for any outdoor enthusiast who expects the most from their gear.

I bought this jacket for my husband a couple of years ago and it still looks as nice as the day we got it. He has gotten so much use out of it, and as someone that runs a bit hotter he continuously uses it through the different seasons but with different layering underneath( we live in Minnesota). As a more technical jacket it offers a lot of great features which he often raves about after his trips to the Boundary Waters. With big chest pockets and solid ventilations to help him cool down this jacket is always with him on trips.
