This bag is good for learning to throw punches at a moving target and use your footwork. It is slower than a cobra bag because the spring is at the bottom, so if you want a fast bag do n't get this one. I filled the base with water and it is about 40 lbs., light enough to move but still stays in place. I do n't hit this bag that hard because that's not what it's for. If I really smack it, the base will rock. Not for heavy hitting. But it would be a good addition to your gym if you want to have different bags for different purposes.

We bought this after giving up on trying to secure a hanging bag to the ceiling in our garage. The bottom base is attached by a huge zipper, it seems pretty heavy duty. We 've had it less than a month, though. Time will tell! The punching bag does seem to lean after using it, but it does n't full stand straight up again. So, depending on your preferences, you may not like that if space is limited. The base is pretty heavy. You have to drag it by the large thick handles which are nice.

The leather appears to be very well stitched together and thick. I would have liked if it had another sewn in strap at the bottom for anchoring the bag but I do n't believe that is common practice with Thai bags.

I would say to disregard any of the negative reviews about this bag, saying it's flimsy. I almost steered clear of it for that reason until I checked exactly which heavy bags we have at my MMA school and many of them are these models. Yes, they 're softER than some bags could be, but they 're definitely up to par for real training. My guess is that whoever rated them as flimsy got a misfire bag, which could happen 1 out of a few hundred with any brand. I have n't broken mine in yet but when it arrived I was actually surprised that it was even stiffer than the ones we have at the MMA gym. I would definitely recommend this bag.

I contacted Ringside( Mfg) and was told that some bladders sitting on the shelf for long periods have resulted in wall- thinning and so they do n't hold air as designed. Ringside planned on sending me a replacement, however, I have n't seen it in 2 weeks( from date of reporting air loss).
