I bought these in white in XL and then in black in L. I like pants loose at the waist and need a long rise. I also got the short length, which sit at my instep( 5' 4 ''). The black ones in the L fit better as to the rise and volume of the legs, but I prefer the looser waist on the XL. I wish designers would give up the hourglass myth of women's bodies: If one needs a L for the hips, one probably does not have a 32 '' waist. The drawstring makes these wearable. Both are comfortable, though, and very light. So I will probably wear the black ones out more, and keep wearing the white ones around the house. Very comfortable style and fabric. I find myself wearing these most days in the Florida warm temps. Very nicely made, as well. I marked `` runs small '' because the elastic at the waist, IMO, should be about 2 inches larger. [ First off. I cut out the liner. Although I will say I left the liner in for a time, best feeling liner I have ever tried on. That being said I got ta feel free in my shorts. Best swim shorts I ’ ve ever owned. I also ran a 22: 37 5k in them around a 7: 20 pace. No liner, no briefs, and no chafe. They also dry really fast. I ’ ve got 3 pairs. Might get a few more. I ’ m 5 ’ 8 ” 155lbs: I bought size small. I wear 30x30 jeans and chinos. Best for swimming, running, looking good without a shirt on. I love the contrast on the waste band. The two tones really help make you look trim and hide the love handles.

It's tight and form- fitting, just as a speedo brief should be, to minimize drag while swimming at the gym. I got a dark blue one, and a white one. The white one is actually thicker and more durable than the dark blue one and as such is just as opaque as the dark blue one. With the blue one, all that's covering your bum is a single, gauzy layer, while the white one feels less risque as it has two additional layers covering your bum. Despite the name, the side panels of these suits are more like 2 '', not 1 ''. Still, looks much better than the typical 3 '' briefs. You just have to have nice legs and butt to show off, because this suit exposes your bare thighs and part of your bum. The speedo does ride up a bit and have to adjust it after diving, but that's expected for any skimpy swimsuit.
