I was really impressed by this base layer. It is very thin and see through but very effective at keeping you warm. I wore this multiple days mid- winter as as my single layer under my shell snow pants. Right out of the box it wasn ’ t as soft to the touch as I anticipated but after wearing it a few times that concern went away and I never thought of it again. I never was itchy like you sometimes are with other wool products. The real highlight of this baselayer is the hood/built in face mask. I kept grabbing this baselayer day after day because of that feature. I love that you can wear the hood up or that you can without it and it ’s not super bulky. The face mask was awesome because I ’ d pull it up on the chairlift and then leave it down while riding. For someone who doesn ’ t own a face mask and rarely wears one, it was really nice to have that feature built in. The face mask was the perfect fit! I ’ m absolutely going to buy another one because this is my new go to!

I love this base layer for backpacking in the winter. The built in balaclava is great for hiking in the snow and rain and sleeping at night in cold conditions. The wool is super warm as a base layer but also breathe able when wearing it on its own when moving in the sun. [ This shirt has a lot of thoughtful features for cold weather. The watch window is a great option for colder weather to help keep my wrists and hands covered but still access my running watch screen. Along those lines, the thumbholes keep sleeves from riding up while I ’ m running so my whole arm is covered when running in cold/wind. I ’ m 6 ’ 4 ” so I was pleasantly surprised that the shirt was long enough for my arms and torso. As an early morning runner and late night dog walker, I appreciate the safety feature with reflective trim on the back. There is the right balance of having reflective trim without looking odd during the daytime. I ’ m a frequent runner and I don ’ t wash my outer layer every day in the winter. I think the antimicrobial treatment is a good feature. Other features I like include the comfortable material, the blue color, and the hood for wind/light rain.

[ This jacket is warm despite how light it is. I don ’ t think it ’ ll hold up once it gets too far below freezing, but I ’ ve been running in around 40 degree Fahrenheit weather and I ’ ve had no problem staying warm. I like the thumb holes in the jacket to help keep my hands warm, even if I eventually will start wearing gloves anyway once it gets colder. Those holes are helpful when it ’s the end of fall/beginning of winter. On top of the functionality, the jacket also looks very sleek and forms to the body well. I ’ ll probably wear this casually every once in awhile as well because it looks that good. Only complaint I have is with the hood. Luckily it ’s fairly light so it ’s not too distracting, but it ’s still a pain to go out for a run with my hood bouncing around. You can tuck the hood with the strap that comes with the jacket, but that ’s still a pain( albeit a small one) to roll up and even then it ’s not a perfect solution. Overall, I highly recommend this jacket! Definitely a keeper for my workout outfit rotation.

[ Brooks made a really nice quality hoodie. The material is a cross between athletic moisture wicking type and a thermal ribbed type. Material is fairly thin, but provides surprising warmth due to thermal ribs. It ’s great for running or outdoor exercise in cooler temperatures. I ’ ve been wearing it more as casual work/everyday attire. It provides about as much warmth as a long sleeve thermal shirt. I wouldn ’ t wear it in extreme cold but works well as a mid layer when temperatures are down. The thermal hood can be rolled up if you ’ re not using it. Medium size fits a 5 ’ 6 ”, 160lb male with athletic build very well. Sleeves and torso length are just right. Slightly form fitted with room for movement. Material is elastic and stretches. Zipper stash pocket and thumb holes are nice features. I ’ m very happy with the look and feel of this hoodie and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice athletic type hoodie.

this pullover is very comfortable and soft, and at a weight of 2. 4 oz for the XS, is a great addition to my packable lightweight layers for hiking. i read as many reviews as i could, to try and determine the correct size to order. typically, i buy size SM most of the time for a garment like this, but i went with the XS, and i ’ m glad i did, because the fabric is light, drapes nicely, but i ’ d be swimming in this if i ’ d ordered my usual size. i ’ m 5 ’ 6 ”, 113 lbs, light- framed body. even the XS is a bit generous in the fit, but at most i ’ d wear it over a tank or a slim- fitting tee. looking forward to the SPF 50 protection.

I love the new Quantum hoodie! It was time to replace my vintage Quantum from the first year Icebreaker made them, and I wanted to buy last year's model. However, there were so many complaints about the zipper that I decided to pass. I saw that the Quantum IV had a new zipper, so I bought `` tang '' colored one in a medium. I 'm 5' 6 '', 137, and the medium is the perfect fit! It hugs my curves but is not tight, it is a nice slightly longer length, and the lack of elastic at the bottom hem allows it to rest perfectly on my lower hips without riding up every time I bend over. The zipper is easy to use and it's lightweight, so when you unzip the jacket a quarter of the way down, the collar sits perfectly( sometimes a heavy zipper will weigh down one side of a collar). Lastly, the weight of the jacket is the perfect indoor weight for winter, and a nice outdoor weight for spring, fall, and summer evenings. I 'm so glad I bought this jacket- the color is beautiful! As expensive as it is, I actually ordered the black as well! A fantastic hoodie!!

Like the feel of this LS tee. Can use it as a base layer or by itself on cooler days. I personally used it for an outdoor run and felt great. One thing though… while the fabric is intended to wick sweat out, I did notice the tee being soaked so not sure I ’ ll be taking it out for runs again. The length of the tee is also a little short so consider that if interested in this shirt.

This is my favorite everyday light jacket for so many different reasons. First I love how light and effective it is as just a little something to keep the chill away. This is my favourite Base layer hoodie for day to day and backpacking. There is a nice wide brim on it to shade your face. The fit is relaxed so it never feels uncomfortable. The sleeves are long enough to cover your hands to keep them shaded. The fabric is crazy breathable and dries super fast. The hoody is a bit heavy at 170grams but not having to use a stupid ball cap on my head more than makes up for that.

I ’ ve used this shirt for countless fishing trips and about 2, 800 miles of backpacking. The fit is non- constricting and the material is super breathable. I really like the size of the hood and the fact that it covers your neck. If you wear it with a brimmed hat the hood protects your peripheral from sun as well. I bought this shirt to use for everything from travelling to backpacking to working out to just kicking around the house. For a lot of synthetic shirts I wear an undershirt because the material does n't feel great against my skin. This one is super comfortable. I picked this up in preparation for a trip to Scotland at the tail end of the winter season. Temperatures averaged 28- 40 degrees Fahrenheit with strong winds and light rain being common. This garment worked extremely well over top of a cheap polyester base layer and often only needed a rain jacket to help protect against the wind when out hiking. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a lightweight and warm midlayer.
