I work in sports and often have to look semiprofessional standing on the sidelines in the cold, used them walking the dog, Nordic skiing, and around town! [ First and foremost, I love the clean look of this fit. You can dress it up or down making it a versatile pant. I ’ m 5 ’ 6 ” and love my clothing a little baggy. I was surprised that the length wasn ’ t too long, cuz I feel like most pants go past my feet. The fabric is light and has a lot of stretch so you can perform almost any activity in them or casually wear them out with a polo and some nice kicks. The material is light so it keeps you warm enough at night and cool during the day. My favorite part of it all is the small reinforced loop in the front of the pant. You can clip your keys, hand sani, bottle opener, the list goes on. The two pockets in the back have zippers as well for more storage. These pants will definitely making into my frequent rotation.

A belt would have made them feel more snug but was not necessary at all. That ’s not something I can say about the pants I wore on the other days of the conference.. Nike clearly paid attention to the small details with these. One of my favorite design touches is a subtle hook near the hip — it ’s perfect for attaching a badge lanyard or keys without adding bulk. But these bad boys hug me in the right places and are stretchy( but never loosen with wear). I wear them almost every time I play and have washed them numerous times, and they do not shrink. Leggings are the only thing that I have ever been able to wear hiking/ backpacking until now. Although leggings are great to wear while hiking, they are sometimes not durable enough for parts of the trail, but they were the only pant that came up high enough on my waist and had room for my hips and thighs. The Nikka, however, does both AND they add much more durability and confidence to my hikes. They also have bigger pockets which allow more room for storage. The stretch fabric through the midsection and thighs make rock scrambling and uneven terrain much more comfortable than a regular hiking pant as well.

This is my first Fjallraven pair of trousers. I 've previously bought from other outdoor brands. Pros: Material seems high quality and very breathable even with long johns underneath. It feels durable and the stitching is immaculate. It has a lot of ventilation pockets and deep storage pockets. Deep pocket placement is great so items wo n't poke you while walking or squatting/sitting. The ankles are slightly flared so thick socks and boots can fit comfortably. They also have buttons so you can do a tighter fit. It is comfortably high waisted and makes movement smooth/easy. I have a curvy figure and the fit is very flattering. No crotch seam. Cons: there are questionable too many seams, which squeeze on you when squatting or bending the knee, but the pants may be flexible because of the seams. It is not a stretchy material so your size is very important. It hugs your waist, so it is not easy to put the pants on as a curvy person. Once it's on, it feels like a second skin though. It does run small. I was hoping a large would let me wear a base layer, but it just barely fits. With the amount of seams, a base layer will probably protect your skin from seams digging in. Will update once I take it out for a few weeks.

I got these pants in the spring for field work( I work in environment). I ended up wearing them all summer and was impressed how well they handled bushwacking in thick forest and shrubs without getting shredded. The big pockets are very useful to keep your things within reach at all time. In the fall I went for a 5- day backpacking trip and I was absolutely impressed by their versatility. We had some hot days, and the vents allowed me to stay comfortable. We had a night of pouring rain and the next day everybody got their pants soaked by the wet vegetation. The G- 1000 fabric was just water repellant enough to keep me dry. Finally we went over a snowy mountain pass, and the hooks allowed me to tie the pants to my laces and keep the snow from getting into my boots. Overall the only thing these pants could n't handle was the darn chipmunk that chewed a hole through the pocket one night to get at the couple peanuts that were left in there!

The side zips are great for venting the legs on sunny days on the glacier.
