I bought these in white in XL and then in black in L. I like pants loose at the waist and need a long rise. I also got the short length, which sit at my instep( 5' 4 ''). The black ones in the L fit better as to the rise and volume of the legs, but I prefer the looser waist on the XL. I wish designers would give up the hourglass myth of women's bodies: If one needs a L for the hips, one probably does not have a 32 '' waist. The drawstring makes these wearable. Both are comfortable, though, and very light. So I will probably wear the black ones out more, and keep wearing the white ones around the house. Very comfortable style and fabric. I find myself wearing these most days in the Florida warm temps. Very nicely made, as well. I marked `` runs small '' because the elastic at the waist, IMO, should be about 2 inches larger. Very glad to have found this brand. CALIA.

Very comfortable and the fabric is very luxurious and doesn ’ t wrinkle. It is a heavier weight pant so good for cooler weather. The waist is a bit high for me but it ’s manageable. Easy to dress up or down with the seam down the leg. I will warn people that they do run long as it is the perfect length on me as someone who is 5 ’ 7- 5 ’ 8 and usually between regular and long lengths( got a R length). The material was relatively breathable for being so durable. So when they showed up I almost thought I was sent the black by mistake then I tried them on and they looked SO GOOD I was keeping them either way. I had a pair of these about 5 years ago when I walked the Camino in Spain. After walking, I backpackad throughout Europe for the next 12 months. These were my only pants. They are durable, lightweight, breathable, dry fast and I loved them for all of that plus the zippered pocket that kept my wallet and passport safe in Paris when two friends had theirs stolen. The majority of the time I hand washed them since an actual washing machine was wishful thinking. Fortunately, they do n't hold onto sweat and stink like some man- made fabrics so a sink, some warm water, a little bit of soap, and some elbow grease kept me from being too socially unacceptable. Did they pill? Yes, between the thighs. So what. The zippers held, no seams unraveled, the front button did n't pop when I first wore them and was too fat for them and the drawstring was a lifesaver when they were too loose when I finished. Ladies, these are a perfect pant. I just bought a new pair. It's the right time. Adventure awaits!

Love the side zipper pocket AND the back zipper pocket. For sizing, I am 5' 4 '' and a muscular 130 pounds, and the size 4 fits me well. I skidded on my side about 8 feet after crashing a dirtbike going way faster than I had any right to, and the pants look new. I don ’ t know if the current fabric is the same as these, but I bought them about seven years ago, wore them hiking, and then decided to take up dirt biking last Saturday( you are correct, these are not appropriate pants for that sport). Maybe you are starting activities early in the morning when it's cold but will be out as it gets hot and want to remove the legs of your pants to have shorts instead. Or perhaps you are hiking and going up a mountain and know it will get much colder as you proceed, and will want to change from shorts to pants. These are comfy for any such activities. My only complaint is that I think these run a bit small. I wear a medium in most pants and shorts( including shorts from Marmot), but these are pretty tight on my curvier butt and legs.
