You can wear in in the 50 ’s unzipped without getting too hot, and I ’ ve worn it in mid 30 ’s drizzle comfortably. Any cooler than 30 degrees and you ’ d probably want to throw on a fleece underneath. The Sherpa is a very nice touch, and I love the hood. This coat is more comfortable than my previous coat, time will tell if it also lasts me 20 years.

I love the longer sleeves. I 'm 6' 1 '' and appreciate the longer length of the Large Tall size. If the sleeves are too long for you, maybe roll them up or add another closure to the wrist snap so you can button it tighter. Do n't take away a great feature from those of us that need it. Really enjoy this coat. I live in Central Indiana, our winter weather fluctuates a lot with winter temps ranging from the 40s to- 15 windchills. This coat works as a great solution for both. For the warmer days the fleece insert can be removed and colder days the insert is plenty warm enough for daily use( short walks, grocery shopping and such). I do want to note that I have different proper low temp coat for long hours playing in the snow and outdoor work that I don ’ t mind tearing up. However I do think the Columbia coat would hold up through such treatment as well. I ’ m also a small statured woman 4 ’ 11 ” 115 lbs. The xs fit, but I went with the small so I have the option for layering. The adjustable cinching at the waist allows to make the slightly larger coat still form fitting and it doesn ’ t feel bulky. The arms are a little long, but that ’s normal with all clothing at my size.
