With morning temps usually in the mid 50's most days I wanted something that was a bit warmer than a short sleeve T but also needed to be visible as I 'm usually running in the city. This shirt is great, love the volt color and the fabric is just a bit thicker/warmer than a typical tech short sleeve T. The thumb holes are perfect for keeping the hands a bit warmer during the first mile or two of warming up or when the wind hits you just a bit too much. I 'm 6' 1- 2/165- 170lb and the standard length medium is a near perfect fit.

I received the thermal heavyweight shirt as part of a Carhartt Crew Field Test, but I can honestly say that this shirt is necessary for everyone living in a cold climate. I find that the sizing is true, and the small works well for me. The shirt handles being laundered very well, without shrinking or pilling. It has retained it's shape. I wash in cool water, and I use fabric softener in addition to laundry soap. The Carhartt heavyweight poly wool shirt is extremely effective in keeping me warm, and blocking the harsh Iowa wind. I tend to stay cold, so this is saying a lot. I love the shirt, because it is fitted. It works well under clothing, without bunching up. I appreciate the `` thumb holes '' on the sleeves, since this prevented the sleeves from riding up while I put on my sweatshirt. Great quality, superior warmth, and comfort.

[ This trainer is SO soft! I ca n't get over how the inside of it feels like a yummy fleece but without the weight of a fleece jacket. In other words, I live in South Florida where it rarely gets chilly, but this is a great material for a cool morning walk or if you like keeping the AC low indoors! I am typically a size 18 on top and the XXL fits just right, so I would say this runs on the smaller side if you 're looking for a looser fit. The gray color is mild and matches well with various colors. All around, a great top that you can wear to lounge or for an activity.

[ I love my Nike Therma fit one top. It ’s sleek and sporty and super comfy. The fabric has tons of stretch for comfort and ease during a workout, but is a good thickness( not as thick as a fleece and not as thin as leggings) and matte and therefore very flattering. I had it on during one of those Fall days where you think “ it ’s probably 65 out ” but it ’s really 50 degrees. And I was plenty warm. I like the length of the top- it sits just below the hip. I am 5 ’ 7 ” and a size 8 in clothes and the medium is perfect with a tank top underneath. I love the soft gray color and subtle swoosh on the side( I usually don ’ t go for big logos!). The collar sits nicely upright with it unzipped. Only thing I noticed that I didn ’ t love is the small neck hole. If you have makeup on and a ponytail( and a big head like I do!) it ’s a snug squeeze and you ’ ll either smudge makeup on the inside of the shirt or you ’ ll mess up your hair if you don ’ t carefully pull it on. Otherwise- it ’s an awesome sleek top.

My favorite part is the thumb loopholes that keeps your thermal shirt in place when you layer over top of it with jackets or sweatshirts. The thermal is very comfortable and kept me dry at all times. If you are a C cup or bigger, you might want to size up, but for anything smaller it should work. It's odd that this was long enough but the matching pants are not as I 'm very proportional. I purchased one of these and liked it so much I went back and got another one. The fit is perfect. But I did have to size up to an extra large which I have to do with all Carhartt space layers for their shirts. But I like the fit and I like the materials. I wear them at work and it's a lot better to sweat in these than it is a cotton shirt. I believe these are the newer models also as they do n't have the sewn on Carhartt tag. Nonetheless they are still quality shirts but are a little on the pricey side at$ 50 each. But still worth it in my opinion.

Like the feel of this LS tee. Can use it as a base layer or by itself on cooler days. I personally used it for an outdoor run and felt great. One thing though… while the fabric is intended to wick sweat out, I did notice the tee being soaked so not sure I ’ ll be taking it out for runs again. The length of the tee is also a little short so consider that if interested in this shirt.

I got this primarily for motorcycling in colder weather. It works great. I can wear this with my jacket and jacket liner and I do n't have to wear other layers. I 've only used it so far riding in 50 degree weather but it was warm enough I had to turn it down or off. I usually wear a large but wanted it to fit tighter so I got a medium. The medium fits great. I would say the medium fits me perfect where normally I would wear a large t- shirt or long sleeve. Not too tight but not loose. Have n't had long enough to know how long the battery would last but have used it for a couple hours switching between high and medium and still have battery left. Would definitely use while skiing, etc

[ For reference, I purchased a Medium. I ’ m 5 ’ 4 ”, 128 pounds, pear shaped, so, smaller on top, curvier on bottom. I got the black which is opaque. I wear this baselayer weight for cross country skiing when it ’s above 30 degrees or so. Smartwool varies in size for me, these are not extremely fitted like some of the 1/4 zips so go with your normal size.

I have been hiking, backpacking, and traveling with them and they have withstood the test of time. They are comfortable alone or as under layer. Super comfortable first wear while on a 2 day backpacking trip. It made a great base layer and then when temps when up it was nice on its own. And a layer of sun protection with long sleeves! Odor control was evident, but control being the key word-- definitely not absent. I recommend this shirt and look forward to using again on the next hike and for my trip to the Tetons next month( as well as trying as a base layer for snow skiing!).
