This flannel is wonderful! The highest level gets hot very quick. It gets very cold where I live and this helps tremendously. I can wear a shirt under this and even a jacket over it and stay perfectly warm and toasty. The battery does n't get in the way or hold a lot of weight. Absolutely killer jacket. Bought it to use for teaching a backpacking class in the late fall in high mountains of Idaho where it can get pretty cold pretty quick. Used it in- 10f weather with a baselayer underneath and shell on top and stayed toasty the whole time. Provides an honestly impressive amount of wind resistance even on the seams. A lot of people claim durability issues but I 've used it climbing, backpacking, and bikepacking for about two years now and it's done amazingly. Well done Mountain Hardwear!
