The hood and extended visor prevented all rain from getting to my face and hair. I have waist length, super curly, thick hair and this hood kept it all in and dry! the length was perfect and prevented my lower body from getting wet. I sized up from a XL to a 2XL as I wanted room to layer and wear sweaters or sweatshirts underneath. The deep pockets were perfect for extra travel items! I got a whole water bottle inside one! [ Brought these bike shorts on a vacation. The fabric is nice and breathable. They were comfortable during a hike on a hot day. I also wore them under a dress for extra warmth in the evening. They are very well made as other Champion clothing I have had in the past have been. I have a feeling these will last a long time. The elastic at the waste is not too thick or wide as I have noticed in other bike shorts. The logo is cool. However if it weren ’ t on the outside I could have worn them as leggings under a short dress too. But they are still plenty useful and worth it. The texture of the weave is soft and the fabric feels comfortable next to the skin.
