They are reasonably durable and they have a great color selection. ... I really like the keeled body because it helps it get down to the bottom quick, rather than round body swimbaits that might suspend in comparable situations with a ton of line out or in moving
5
MrT
Fish chokem. get this bait in front of a fishes nose and it's gon na eat it!
5
Crimson Ghost
I use 3in and 4in Big Hammers as my go to swimbait on 1/4th and 3/8th ounce swimbait heads. They have a great tail thump/ body wobble that it just right, not too little and not too much. The tail swims on the fall and does it's thing on the slowest of retrieves. I really like the keeled body because it helps it get down to the bottom quick, rather than round body swimbaits that might suspend in comparable situations with a ton of line out or in moving current. They are reasonably durable and they have a great color selection. They are literally the only swimbait I use on a swimbait jighead!
5
Mike7
I bought these Big Hammer Swim Bait because they are one best I have used!

It was very good. But sometimes it would n't stay on the hook. But it's good and catches fish. Caught a 5 pound striper on it

5
Elijah
I wasn ’ t sure if I would like these because the tail is just like a swimbait but it turns out it ’s actually it ’s strength. The bait has a good body roll and the tail has a good kicking movement. They even work great for trailers on spinnerbaits and swimjigs. I ’ ve even heard they make a great wacky rig bait! Haven ’ t tried that yet but I can imagine it works.

5
Bamafever
I 've been using Zoom products for several years now and use the swimmin chunk as a trailer on a 1/4 ounce jig and also a 3/8 ounce jig. i usually dip the legs in a chartreuse garlic dye, and most of my jigs are a shade of green( usually a green crawfish) not sure if the bass see this as a bluegill or crawfish; only that it catches fish!! i fish an extremely clear, fairly deep lake so detail is very important.
5
Gary
Give yourself a better chance at catching that fish. Add one of these to your jig or spinning lure for some extra action. Get that fishes attention!

The best all around lure i have used. It has great action with the flip tail. Purchased at Dicks because of grand opening and had a coupon. Their normal prices are about$ 1. 00 more than other retailers in the area. Will continue to purchase at other outlets until Dicks lowers their prices to meet the competition.

Been using swimming flukes since they came out... have caught bass, snook, reds and speckled trout. Use them as a swimbait Texas rigged with a pegged bullet weight. Use them weightless worked real slow and easy, just twitch them or bring to the top and let them sink back down to the bottom or buzz them on top. You can go fishing with only this bait and always catch fish. Houdini is my favorite color... What a bait!!
5
BogMountain
I have switched to the Zoom Swimmin' Super Fluke as my `` go to '' bait for both small and largemouth bass fishing. They can be very effectively fished as a surface bait in very thick aquatic vegetation and are extremely effective when fished that way for largemouth bass. They can also be fished as a `` wake bait '' or fished more slowly as a subsurface bait. My favorite colors are Baby Bass, Pearl, and Houdini. You need to have several bags of these in your arsenal!

I have been casting this bait for a couple weeks now in the 4. 5 and 6 inch size. No catches on the 6 inch but have had many followers. The 4. 5 gets crushed even by 1. 5 pounders! My favorite retrieve is slow and steady. Definitely keeping these tied on this winter and spring.

5 inch swimbaits are versatile lures that mimic the movement of baitfish, making them effective for attracting a variety of freshwater and saltwater species. Their size is ideal for targeting both smaller and larger fish, providing a balance between visibility and subtlety. Additionally, they can be used in various fishing techniques, including casting, trolling, and jigging.
5 inch swimbaits are typically made from durable materials such as soft plastics, rubber, or hard plastic. Soft plastics offer a lifelike feel and action in the water, while hard plastics can provide added durability and a different swimming action. The choice of material can affect the swimbait's buoyancy, flexibility, and overall effectiveness in attracting fish.
5 inch swimbaits are effective in a variety of fishing conditions, including both calm and turbulent waters. They can be used in freshwater lakes, rivers, and saltwater environments, making them a versatile choice for anglers. Additionally, they perform well during different seasons, especially in warmer months when fish are more active and feeding on smaller baitfish.
Choosing the right color for a 5 inch swimbait depends on several factors, including water clarity, light conditions, and the natural prey in the area. In clear water, more natural colors that mimic local baitfish tend to be effective, while brighter colors can be useful in murky conditions to attract attention. Observing the local environment and experimenting with different colors can help determine what works best.
5 inch swimbaits are designed to attract a wide range of fish species, including bass, pike, trout, and various saltwater fish. Their realistic swimming action and size make them appealing to both predatory freshwater and saltwater species. Depending on the fishing location and technique used, anglers can target specific species effectively with this versatile lure.
Different styles of 5 inch swimbaits can vary in design, action, and intended use. Some swimbaits are designed for a more erratic, darting motion, while others may have a smoother, more natural swimming action. Additionally, some may feature added elements like rattles or unique tail designs to enhance attraction. Understanding these differences can help anglers select the right swimbait for their fishing strategy.
