Bought the lure to augment an offshore trolling spread consisting of surface and near- surface lines. Fished the plug on 20- pound trolling outfit, with 12- foot 150- pound mono leader, run about 100 feet down the middle. The plug pulls hard when trolled at 7 to 8 knots, but digs down and swims well, even at that speed-- although anglers should be warned that at that speed, a 20 is about as light as you can go, as the lure will take line off the reel if anything less than 7 pounds of drag is used. Primary target for the lure was dolphin( mahi- mahi), which hit it well when not showing on the surface; the plug drew a strike from my largest mahi of the 2018 season.

I have the 6th Sense Provoke jerkbait in both sizes and various colors. The hooks are sticky sharp, as all 6th sense hooks are, and these are no exception. They are noticeably sharper than hooks on any lure I 've purchased out of the package. Tying a knot can be challenging because the hooks are so sharp that you will constantly get poked. Used to use Tiny/Baby Torpedos and thought I had the killer lures for bass on my favorite water. Have n't had the success I wanted lately as the propellers did n't always spin. Last summer I watched a video on Youtube of a guy killing smallies with a `` Whopper Plopper '' so I decided to give one a try. I bought the 90 perch and 90 pac- man. First afternoon out with these lures I caught 10 bass. That was my best day ever on this water. Very nice lure! This is the good. The bad is that you can not find replacement bodies. Expensive! I went thru tens of tails while fishing for stripers. Small bluefish keeps eating the bodies snd i had to use Al gag bodies to replace them
