I was able to purchase the Aura Pro through their beta testing program and have been playing with it as my primary paddle for 2 months now. This thing is a truly great paddle. The power is top tier. You can definitely feel the trampoline effect when you hit this thing in the sweet spot. It also had great control for drops and dinks. Based on performance alone this paddle is top tier. When you factor in the price point I do n't think there is a better paddle out there for the money. I recommend this paddle, as well as any other Friday paddle to everyone I play with.
5
Pickleball Ninja
The Aura Pro is amazing! I have tried the Boomstick and others similar but found the Aura Pro is all that and then some. It is a way better paddle at a great cost savings, so I can play in more tournaments with confidence and be fierce.

The Aura Pro earned it's spot as my main the first day I played with it. The excellent dwell and spin allow you to tear into the ball with confidence that you can keep it in. I ’ ve not tried virtually every one of the new paddles — the models and thicknesses. I ’ m a 4. 0 tournament player, and for me the Mayhem( 14mm) is the perfect blend of power and control, which is what I search for. The 16mm versions of all the new paddles are a tad soft for me. [ I initially purchased one of the pre- production models about 4 months before it went public and I loved the feel of the paddle. I used the Black Opal in a couple tournaments and finished on the podium in all of them. After about 4 weeks I saw a one inch dent near the top off the paddle, and I saw some other people post about the same issue, but it did n't affect play. After a couple months, that portion of the paddle started to deteriorate. I sent it back to Six- Zero and they sent me a new paddle within 10 days. The new paddle feels even more solid than the initial one I received. I do use lead on the throat of the paddle and I really love the balance of touch near the kitchen paired with power at the baseline. After using the Double Black Diamond for about 18 months, I would highly recommend switching to the Black Opal.

Lotto Ultimo Pro 16mm Pickleball Paddle is the real deal. I was amazed how light this paddle was, when I first got it. The handle is longer than my other paddles, which was good. The ball doesn ’ t jump off the paddle as much compared to my other paddle, so I like it for dink or short shots. When it was time to smash the ball, I liked using it because of the longer handle. I also liked how I could put spin on the ball with this paddle.

I have been playing with the Holbrook Aero Metallic T 14mm for just over two weeks now and can not say enough about how pleased I am with it. I was previously playing with more of a `` power '' paddle and wanted to switch to a balance of control and power as I am now playing more doubles, so, speed at the net was also a consideration. This paddle checks all the boxes: power, control, spin, speed- I love the edgeless face and the weighting system and balance is perfect. I did not need to do any additional tuning. My wife and I love this paddle. It has so much better qualities versus our other one. It ’s lighter, it has a larger surface area, it ’s longer, it has a better grip, and it provides a much more solid strike and control of the ball with minimal effort. Kind of like moving from an inexpensive Hyundai to a well equipped Lexus. Both will get you to your place but one will feel and drive so much better than the other. Now the question of how much usage will I get with the new paddle as my wife has claimed it as hers.

I was nervous to try a new paddle for my first ever 4. 0 pickleball tournament, but it ended up being the best decision I 've made! My partner and I ended up getting the gold!!! This paddle delivers exceptional stock performance, offering remarkable stability paired with impressive power. There is absolutely no need for aftermarket weighted tape or clips. The tapered shape and generous handle length make it perfect for two- handed backhands, while the aerodynamic curved top and lightweight design ensure a incredibly fast feel in hand. Touch around the kitchen is excellent. While the raw power requires a slight drilling adjustment, having that extra power when needed is a massive asset. The unique construction significantly dampens vibrations. You can truly pull this paddle right off the shelf and play at an optimal level.

I 've used all the new Malice, Malice DB and Mayhem paddles from Onix. The Malice Open throat paddle provides great control while not sacrificing power. It's got a larger sweet spot on it than the carbon fiber paddles. The power frame technology ensures that the paddle is built solid and will not break, while the thermofused process ensures really good vibration control.

[ Franklin Youth Paddle from the Junior Paddle Series is a great starter paddle for young pickle- ballers. Designed specifically for youth players, it offers the right balance between control and power. the size is perfectly tailored to fit smaller hands for a comfortable grip. The colorful design is fun. The Franklin Sports brand is a high quality product and a good value. I think what makes it more fitting for youth or kids is the small diameter of the handle. It's also very thin at 10mm.

[ I ’ ve only recently started playing pickleball and usually just play casually with friends once a week, but I really like this paddle! The feel is solid and well- balanced, giving me good control over my shots. The construction is impressive for the price — lightweight yet sturdy. The handle is comfortable and absorbs impact nicely. It doesn ’ t slip even when my hands get sweaty, which is a huge plus. The paddle face has a light texture that provides a good grip on the ball, making spin easier to generate. The sweet spot is forgiving, and the paddle ’s response feels crisp without being too stiff. Overall, it ’s a fantastic upgrade for any beginner moving toward intermediate play. I ’ m really happy with it.

I have been using the Evoke Premier Pro Raw Carbon Pickleball for rec play as well as tournament play. The paddles plays very nicely. It has a very large sweet spot and has the raw carbon face which allows you to add an enormous amount of spin to the ball. It comes in 4 different widths, so you can pick the exact type of power/touch you are looking for.

Recently got this paddle and immediately played in a tournament with it. It changed my game! The power I was able to generate off my drives, the zip my ball had off it in fast hands rallies, and the control I had with it make it a great paddle. Looking forward to playing with it more!

This paddle is a homerun for ONIX. I am an employee at ONIX Pickleball and have had the opportunity to play with a large variety of paddles from all across the pickleball market. The 16mm Max Control Raw Carbon has become BY FAR my favorite paddle. I have more control at the net than ever before without having to sacrifice any power. Looked up reputable pickleball paddle brands and Joola was one of them. Happy to see Joola was carried at Dicks. Played once so far and the shot control was noticeably better. Happy with the purchase.

Bought this paddle in Dec 2021 to replace a less expensive paddle my daughter permanently borrowed. I was an advanced beginner at the time. This paddle has grown with me over the months. I am now ranked at 3. 5. I 've tried several other paddles over the months, but none quite delivers in ball control and large sweet spot. This is most helpful up at the net, ball speed, and with shot placement. I also now appreciate the grip which holds up better than most, with no stickiness. Just as importantly, this paddle saves wear and tear on my elbow and shoulder. No pain with this paddle. You have to pay about 50% more to get the same performance from competing paddles. The Crown 2 is a hidden gem.

An 8 oz pickleball paddle offers a balance of power and control, making it suitable for players who want to generate strong shots while maintaining precision. The weight allows for better stability during play, which can enhance your overall performance. Additionally, this weight category can help reduce arm fatigue during longer matches, making it a popular choice for both recreational and competitive players.
8 oz pickleball paddles are typically made from a combination of composite materials, including fiberglass, carbon fiber, and polymer cores. These materials contribute to the paddle's durability and performance, allowing for a good mix of power and control. The choice of materials can also affect the paddle's feel and responsiveness, which is important for players looking to improve their game.
Choosing the right grip size for an 8 oz pickleball paddle is crucial for comfort and performance. A grip that is too small can lead to slippage, while a grip that is too large can cause discomfort and reduce control. To find your ideal grip size, measure the distance from the tip of your ring finger to the second line on your palm, and refer to sizing charts to select the appropriate grip size.
An 8 oz pickleball paddle is versatile and can benefit a range of playing styles, particularly those who favor a balanced approach between power and control. Players who engage in both aggressive net play and strategic baseline rallies will find this weight category advantageous. Additionally, it suits players who enjoy a mix of finesse and power shots, allowing for a well-rounded game.
Yes, 8 oz pickleball paddles can be suitable for beginners, as they provide a good balance of power and control that can help new players develop their skills. The stability offered by this weight can enhance confidence during play, making it easier to learn the fundamentals of the game. However, beginners should also consider their personal comfort and preference when selecting a paddle.
