I ’ ve been using the Hype X paddle for a few days now, and it ’s honestly taken my game to another level. The feel off the paddle is super clean — every shot just pops the way I want it to. It ’s lightweight but still solid enough to drive the ball with real power. What surprised me most is the control — I ’ m placing dinks and drops with way more confidence. If you ’ re serious about improving, this paddle ’s a game- changer!
5
PickleMatt
Been playing with the Hype X for a bit now and I ’ m really liking it. The feel is super solid — nice and responsive without being too stiff. There ’s a noticeable pop that makes drives and quick shots feel really satisfying. It ’s also got a good balance — doesn ’ t feel too heavy but still gives you something behind the ball. Definitely feels like an upgrade without trying too hard. Just a good paddle that plays well.

I am relatively new to the sport — I am still expanding my knowledge on paddle tech and experimenting with the range of Onix paddles. I must say, I love playing with the Onix Hype X! In the few short lessons that I have had, this paddle has helped increase spin and control for me. It's helped make me more confident in my game. I also love the fact that it has an approachable price point and has helped me convinced me to get my friends into it, too!!:)

I am really enjoying this new racket. I was totally confused about getting my second pickleball racket and I think I made the right choice. I have a long history of tennis as my background, but pickleball is n't too far off to carry over a lot of the techniques. This new racket is allowing me to hit some crazy good spin now and keep better control of my shots. It is also lighter than my prior racket, so I think that is helping alleviate some of my newer tennis elbow aches popping up from this fun sport. I highly recommend this racket for just about all levels of player.

[ I ’ ve only recently started playing pickleball and usually just play casually with friends once a week, but I really like this paddle! The feel is solid and well- balanced, giving me good control over my shots. The construction is impressive for the price — lightweight yet sturdy. The handle is comfortable and absorbs impact nicely. It doesn ’ t slip even when my hands get sweaty, which is a huge plus. The paddle face has a light texture that provides a good grip on the ball, making spin easier to generate. FS Tour Dynasty 16mm is awesome. Ive tried most of the top brands. Its the only paddle available that is over 8. 7 oz and doesnt need lead tape. Great for advanced tennis players who like a heavier feeling paddle. The entire paddle face hits solid. No torque on mishits- even balls hit on the edge! Spin is 2200 rpm which is top tier. Also the only manufacturer that provides a full cover that also covers the grip instead of cheap cover that only covers the head.

I ’ ve been looking for the right paddle for a long time and this is it. I have been switching between playing with 16mm paddles- Apes Pulse V, Joola Hyperion C2 CFS, Honolulu J3k Pro, Gearbox Pro, Thrive Azul, and 11six24. Bought my daughter a Paddletek ALW for Christmas and I like this one better. This 14mm has been a game changer! Control has improved, more than enough power, and very good pop. Handle width is awesome- no need for overwrap, and have had no need for lead. If I had a complaint the spin is mid- tier. Feels similar to the ALW when playing minus some spin but with a better grip. And the edge guard is shiny, but that might be personal preference.

You know what's fun? Being different. One of my favorite things about this paddle is that it's different. Every other paddle is predictably carbon fiber and all seem to be chasing the latest fad in paddle technology. They 're all innovating, sure, but in such a narrow space that they all start to seem kind of... the same. Revolin paddles have always provided a great value and performed well among their competitors. I appreciate that they 've been able to do it with more sustainable materials- both because sustainable is good and also because it just seems more innovative than doing what everyone else is doing. They are definitely one of the brands that seems they could make big waves in the industry. So, all that to say I like this paddle because I feel different playing with it. Something about holding volcanic rock in your hands is just... cool! It performs on par with the other paddles on the court but the feeling it brings me is unique and different. It just so happens my game is unique and different too so it's a good match:)

I was nervous to try a new paddle for my first ever 4. 0 pickleball tournament, but it ended up being the best decision I 've made! My partner and I ended up getting the gold!!! I bought this paddle a month ago because I wanted a foam paddle. Holbrooks Dual Density foam core interested me a lot and it did not disappoint at all! The power is very springy and it can really launch the ball. On the other hand, I noticed the ability I had to control the bal for resets, blocks, dinks, drops, was phenomenal. I would highly recommend this paddle! It will be my main paddle I use now!

It sounds cliche, but this paddle has been an absolute game changer. The amount of power I am able to consistently generate is so noticeable, but there ’s also so much touch/control with the dual density foam core. Compared to some of the other big brand names, this has been the best paddle by far.

I upgraded my pickleball paddle to the Wilson Fierce 13. My previous paddle had an surface that was smooth. The textured surface on the Wilson increased my control and spin. I chose the Wilson after trying over number of paddles borrowed from our club pro shop. It is a very good value for the price.

[ My daughter plays pickle ball and she was very happy when I gave her this pickle all paddle from Joola Essentials. Just the right size and great style. Basic black color which is also nice. I think I ’ m gon na learn pickle ball soon because it ’s so fun. I definitely will purchase a paddle for me as well.

[ this paddle rocks. played pb at the high school and everybody had to try my new paddle! It has awesome grip and is perfectly weighted. plus it is a nice black with shine, so hubby can use it too. its not too girly, like my pink paddle is.

[ Although I am pretty new to pickleball and have only played a handful of times I wanted to have my own paddle. First time I played with the joola I not only looked like a pro but felt like one too. I even got some compliments from my opponent. Very happy with the paddle

[ I got this as a gift for my friend who obsessed with pickleball and she loves that it's lightweight and serves her well. She says the grip is comfortable and that she loves having her own paddle to bring to her local sports center. She is older at 74 and she has no issues with the grip or heaviness.

Just bought this racket after upgrading from cheap beginner wood racket. Great pop and net play. So smooth. Also the molding around my last racket kept popping off. This racket seems to indent that in more and should hold better. Only drawback seems to be hard slices if you use that shot. The toughness of wood seems to produce that better. Overall though tremendous racket for the price it seems

[ This is a very lightweight pickleball paddle that has a very nice grip handle that makes it comfortable to use when playing the game. I feel like it has great weight distribution and I actually feel like the impact is further with this particular paddle. I have other pickleball paddles but this one really seemed like the perfect material and I feel like it made my performance much better. My whole family and I play Pickleball and it was great to have this paddle to improve my game. It's made of high quality materials and is an excellent choice if you 're a new player to a seasoned veteran player

[ I was so excited to try this new paddle! It ’s lightweight and well balanced. You can get a good solid serve out of this paddle. I am still working on getting a nice spin going with it though. Not the paddle ’s fault but my lack of talent. I really like this paddle though. It is comfortable to hold and gives great ball returns.

[ Looking forward to crushing the competition with my new Joola( Agassi Champion- 12mm) pickleball paddle! I love the size of the handle and its comfy grip. I expect it will stay in my hands well- even on the sweatiest of days! Great weight- allowing me to have quick hands and the surface undoubtedly perfect for ripping some winning shots! Love that Agassi collabed with Joola for these paddles and I ’ ve loved seeing his and Graf ’s advocacy for the sport. A great looking and feeling paddle that will surely bring some victories on the pickleball court!

[ Haven ’ t yet used it but I showed my rocket to my friend who is a pro and he told me it is one of the best for beginners and will work for years! It is lightweight and the only thing is that the smell of the rubber in the grip is a little too strung but hopefully it will fade away.

Bought this paddle in Dec 2021 to replace a less expensive paddle my daughter permanently borrowed. I was an advanced beginner at the time. This paddle has grown with me over the months. I am now ranked at 3. 5. I 've tried several other paddles over the months, but none quite delivers in ball control and large sweet spot. This is most helpful up at the net, ball speed, and with shot placement. I also now appreciate the grip which holds up better than most, with no stickiness. Just as importantly, this paddle saves wear and tear on my elbow and shoulder. No pain with this paddle. You have to pay about 50% more to get the same performance from competing paddles. The Crown 2 is a hidden gem.

I have been using this Joola Radius Paddle for 1 week now and love it. It has great control and spin on the ball. Love the shape of it and seems easier for me to move around and hit the ball. Awesome sweet spot. I did add a little lead top to help with the power for deeper returns. I 'm used to using a selkirk S2 and Head gravity lite. It feels similiar to both of these paddles but I like it more. It gets more spin on the ball and has a larger sweet spot than the Head gravity lite. Awesome paddle

I bought this paddle a few months ago and it has far exceeded my expectations — the feel is like no other paddle and I ’ ve tried a ton. Would recommend to anyone!!
5
Snoltor
I ’ ve been using the Radius for 13 months. 16mm thickness is ideal for the control I want, and I can get enough power when needed for my game. Light weight and low swing weight are good for tennis elbow- I believe. Produced great spin on my backhand, I believe surface is finally aging a bit, not quite as much spin after one year, but still decent. Great match for my style of game: short game, placement shots, and occasional power put away overheads.

I have been using the Mayhem Composite Pickleball for rec play as well as tournament play. The paddles plays well. It has a little long grip which I like for my two- hand backhand. I ’ ve not tried virtually every one of the new paddles — the models and thicknesses. I ’ m a 4. 0 tournament player, and for me the Mayhem( 14mm) is the perfect blend of power and control, which is what I search for. The 16mm versions of all the new paddles are a tad soft for me. And the thinner versions available in some models just don ’ t have the touch that I require for my 3rds& resets. This is a great paddle!

This is by far the best pickleball paddle I have own. The paddle is lightweight but still provides great stability and control. I can now hit two- handed backhands with the longer and well gripped handle.
An 8 oz pickleball paddle offers a balance of power and control, making it suitable for players who want to generate strong shots while maintaining precision. The weight allows for better stability during play, which can enhance your overall performance. Additionally, this weight category can help reduce arm fatigue during longer matches, making it a popular choice for both recreational and competitive players.
8 oz pickleball paddles are typically made from a combination of composite materials, including fiberglass, carbon fiber, and polymer cores. These materials contribute to the paddle's durability and performance, allowing for a good mix of power and control. The choice of materials can also affect the paddle's feel and responsiveness, which is important for players looking to improve their game.
Choosing the right grip size for an 8 oz pickleball paddle is crucial for comfort and performance. A grip that is too small can lead to slippage, while a grip that is too large can cause discomfort and reduce control. To find your ideal grip size, measure the distance from the tip of your ring finger to the second line on your palm, and refer to sizing charts to select the appropriate grip size.
An 8 oz pickleball paddle is versatile and can benefit a range of playing styles, particularly those who favor a balanced approach between power and control. Players who engage in both aggressive net play and strategic baseline rallies will find this weight category advantageous. Additionally, it suits players who enjoy a mix of finesse and power shots, allowing for a well-rounded game.
Yes, 8 oz pickleball paddles can be suitable for beginners, as they provide a good balance of power and control that can help new players develop their skills. The stability offered by this weight can enhance confidence during play, making it easier to learn the fundamentals of the game. However, beginners should also consider their personal comfort and preference when selecting a paddle.
