After buying a pair and being somewhat of a Guinea pig for the rest of the guys I fish with, they noticed how quickly i can put them on and beat them to the best spots on the river. They never leaked on me but I 've managed to get water in them and you just hang them upside down overnight and apply gold bond before using it and done. Now if you dont use the straps on the sides to keep them upright then you 're going to have a bad time. If you plan on going over small falls or very rocky areas then spend more on neoprene and get some decent footwear for them. This is for the casual fisherman who spots a nice spot on his way home from work and wants to get a few casts before he heads home.

All waders will eventually leak. That's just a fact. No need to pay several hundred dollars on a pair of waders when this product is available for a fraction of that. I 'm 5'10 '' and 165, wearing a size 10½- 11 shoe. The size M fits perfectly. The bootie seemed a tad short, but it was n't uncomfortable and fit well inside my wading boots. If I can get 2 or 3 seasons out of these, I 'll be very happy. At this price point, I would n't expect more, but this brand has an excellent reputation, so we 'll see...

I had a pair of Simms Tributary waders that lasted me 3 seasons here in the Pacific Northwest. I sent them in to Simms for repairs to the seam tape that had failed. Simms was not able to repair them and gave me an in store credit for the original price of the waders. The fact that they stood by their product warranty is reason enough to keep buying Simms. Now to the waders, the new Freestones fit is as listed but far better than the Tributary waders. The neoprene gravel guards fit tightly and don ’ t pull up while walking around. I haven ’ t had them in the water yet but expect them to perform well. The best part is I made this order on Thursday morning and received the waders in the mail Friday morning and Simms threw in a field repair kit for free. Thanks Simms and hopefully you update the Freestone Jacket to match soon.

Just purchased these waders, and they appear very well made and rugged. I certainly hope they 're not discontinued( it almost seems that way when I read the Frogg Toggs lineup, ever since the introduction of the Hellbenders anyway) because I want to recommend them to numerous friends. They 're built so much better than the economy waders I 've been using( which after a season or so developed leaks I could n't find, and no amount of shoe goo would keep me from having a legful of water and two soggy socks, every trip). I try to be easy on gear and I fully expect to use these fine Sierran waders for many, many years. I have yet to get them into the water but if they leak there's a full- year warranty. They 're REALLY well made. I 'm just under 6' 1 '' and about 188 pounds, and the `` LARGE '' are perfect for me.( Other afffordable waders need XL for me but these are pretty true to size-- they still have room for a fleece jacket and other warm clothing, too.)

I had to hike through some rugged territory to get to a favourite location, figured i done them in on day one. The only thing I dont like is the front pocket which has a dry zipper is not actually waterproof. The foot stocking is multi layered. I got a little Knick on one but there is another layer beneath and I 'm still dry!

I have the medium size, and I am 5'10 '' 155lbs and a 9. 5 shoe size. I have been using these year round since June 2017. The feet of the waders fit just fine, and the cuffs are tight to the lower calf( which I like). On that note, you have to pull quite hard to force your heel past the cuff. The waist comes up to just past my navel if I want it to. So far no leaks have occurred, which is a major plus. And that is with quite a bit of bushwhacking. They look pretty good, compared to many other waders. The only real negative I have found so far is the hooks on the front of the gravel guards are down in without any reinforcement. I lost one of them completely and hand sowed the other back on. As long as I am wearing boots it's not a huge issue, but still fairly frustrating. This occurred in August 2018, just outside of the warranty period. For this reason it is not a 5 star product for me.

So I ’ ve got to be honest.. I really wanted to buy the new waders from First Lite. So much so that I sold the G3 Guides I had worn for several years. They were stocking foots, and for my purposes, boot foot would ’ ve been a better move. But I loved them- they ’ re incredible waders made here in the USA. And I wore the heck out of ‘ em. When First Lite announced that they were delaying their wader launch for another season, I went back to what I knew( Simms), saw this new model, and figured I would give it a try. First impressions: outstanding quality as always, the boot fits snug to the heel, and the zipper is a total game changer. I can ’ t help but think they made these with hunters in mind, given the color and specs( zip+boot foot+webbing on the front). The color is very similar to the Sitka Delta waders in their solid earth tone. Even if First Lite drops something truly revolutionary on their wader next year, I plan on keeping these forever.. a truly excellent product from Simms as always. Note- I normally wear a 9. 5 in shoes, and ordered the 10 Reg in these. Fits perfect so far!

Fit and finish are everything you 'd expect from Simms. Ease of movement even when bending down and squatting is huge. Nothing feels like it is going to rip or break. Using theses to mostly hunt in pairing them with a good leg gaiter to protect the neoprene on the boots should only make them better. I really hope they drop this color combo or similar in a stocking foot in the future. I wish they would have used a OD green boot on these. Boots are super comfortable out of the box and fit true to size. Went with theses over Sitkas deltas, nice to see Simms tapping into the hunting scene a little more. Bring on more solid dark colors and combos! Ill never own a pair of non zip waders again, total game changer!

They boots say insulated but there doesn'tseem to be muchand if they is it's minimal. Only issue is the insole is sub- par and will have to be replaced as it has bunched up from walking. Bought these for salmon fishing in Michigan. This is my first time using this type of Waders. I wore them all day in 90 degree heat and was so thankfull they were not neoprene. They are so easy to put on there like your regular clothes and so comfortable. Currently I just wear a pair if shorts under them but have plenty of room to layerup as it gets colder in the year. I can not tell you how much I love these. They are very durrable and clean up well.

Most wader pants I ’ ve tried seemed like a mere afterthought by the manufacturer. These new Simms pants are the best product available by far for those of us who don ’ t need full waders. I use them to launch my boat when necessary, to fish from my kayak and of course, for shallow wading. They are really comfortable and convenient, slipping on and off with no effort. I cant imagine buying wader pants without the zipper! They were perfect for me( Large King) … 6- 2 and 220 lbs. I do wish you could provide 3 three overlapping size ranges for the booties.
