Best rain jacket yet!. Durable, good movement with kits or gear underneath. Has some versatility in pockets. Also used to double up as a Snow shell for a spring Colorado Snowfall. I really like the hood, no so large that it cuts your vision off but still sheds water off your face like a hat.

Used this on vacation, light weight looks nice and good fit.

The jacket fit my normal sizing( didn ’ t need to size up) with enough room to add a layer or so during the colder months. Initial inspection ended with all seems, zippers and surfaces being in good condition and well made. It withstood the test of heavy winds and salt water leaving nothing to be desired. Additionally if you appreciate a rain jacket with a tall zip up to the neck and comfortable hood, this is a good option.

I wear this jacket for everything- hiking, around town, commuting. The zip system is amazing in terms of letting me vent as much as I need on wet but hot/humid days, as well as drape the jacket over a medium sized backpack when commuting to keep it dry

Finally... A jacket that does what it says its going to do- so happy I purchased this. Excellent rain protection I experienced over 2 hours in medium rain on walk. No wet out, no leakage- water just ran off and kept me dry the whole time. Highly recommend this jacket for sure!

I have a few bits of Fjallraven kit, including some I donated to others. Examples being the Skogso Padded, Vardag Lite Padded and this the Expedition Mid Winter. Such a piece of kit and so warm. Between this and the Skogso Padded Jacket I would happily recommend both. Looking forward to expanding my Fjallraven collection.

LOVE this jacket! I 'm 6' 2 and bought XL for extra movement and layering when snowboarding. Pros: The synthetic fill is the best I 've ever felt, I honestly thought it was down fill. I love that it stays warm and holds its lofty puffiness when in wet snow conditions. My other Sitka down jacket loses its loft quickly in the arms and back when I start perspiring from a morning of hiking or snowboarding. But's it's so soft a cozy. I often just wear a t- shirt or thin base layer under it if I 'm just staring around a camp fire. It's very warm and the hand and chin backings are super soft. Cons: My only complaint is that it does n't have a well placed hood draw string for windy conditions. The single draw string on the hood is more a retention string for side to side movement of your head. And the outer fabric is very delicate, I know its gon na snag and tear on a tree branch one of these days.... I personally wish it was a little bit thicker like on my wife's Expedition down jacket.

The description is a bit off. This thing is huge! Quite heavy and very bulky. That said, it ’s by far the warmest jacket I own. I love it. Very warm and cozy. Fantastic belay parka for cold weather. The synthetic insulation is a game changer. No more down feathers pocking through. Very lofty and warm.

Yes, this jacket is lightweight, but that ’s what I needed! I bought it to stuff into my bike bag. It can be stuffed into the smallest space, yet pops out wrinkle free. It ’s great as a windbreaker, and as layered clothing. It has no hand pockets, but there is a zippered pocket in the chest. I ’ m normally a large, but in this jacket the XL fits best.

WA Grammy
This is a simple, very lightweight windbreaker, that packs into its pocket. It's somewhat water resistant, and dries quickly, but not waterproof. It's in my backpack for every hike, and my carryon whenever I travel. It weighs almost nothing and when it's in it's pocket turned carry pouch, it's about the size of a 3 x 5 card and about an 1 '' thick. It even fits in a purse, a fanny pack, and many hydration packs. I always have one on my boats, whether sailing or rowing/kayaking and have been glad to have it hold in my body heat on a chilly airplane, or as a paper thin layer for skiing, both downhill and crosscountry. Worn as a mid- layer it makes a fleece slip on effortlessly. One of the most versatile pieces I own. I have both hooded jacket, and a no longer available pullover.

[ I like the length and weight of this raincoat, and think it will be great for spring, summer, and fall travel. I wear this on my windshieldless moto going 70- 89 mph and it does the job on windblocking. When it rained, it keep deflecting rain. I wear a merino thermal, my casual, moto protective shirt, and my thermal heated liner, which I do n't have to turn on the heated liner at these temps because of the windblocking and having gear insulate the heat inside. I love this field jacket; my favorite jacket. I want to buy a more expensive jacket here, but this one was beautiful to pass up. Its big for sure for my 5' 5 stature at Medium, but I have full range of motion with all my gear on underneath and that's awesome. Buy it! worth it!
5
Robot13
Great jacket for those of us living in the Southeast US. was able to wear comfortably down to around 50 degrees F with only a lightweight cotton flannel shirt underneath. You can go much colder if you have a suitable insulation or base layer underneath. I bought in dusk for a classic style yet unique colorway that stands out among your standard olive or khaki surplus jackets. The G1000 softens up a bit with wear. Supposedly water resistant, but I would caution against wearing if more than a light sprinkle is in the forecast.
5
Devin
Nothing on this jacket is disappointing. The hood actually rolls back up into the collar. It is great against the wind and rain while on bike. The tie downs on the inside keep all the heat inside. While I have n't used the pockets much yet I know they 'll be great for gloves and hats this winter.
5
Borys K.
I ’ ve bought it in Dusk, and I like this jacket. Traditional Fjallraven durability is combined with a timeless military M65 style. One may wear it on a trail, around a city, and even in an office in a casual look. Also, it is perfect for traveling due to the multiple big pockets. This makes the jacket very versatile. A rolled hood can be a lifesaver in a wind or light shower rain. I ’ m 5 ’ 11 ”( 180 cm) 163 lb( 74 kg), and M fits me well.

I have been looking for a good puffer jacket for my upcoming trip to Paris. I 've tried on several different brands and styles of jackets, and none of them came anywhere near close, compared to the Canyonlands Hybrid. The slim fit is absolutely perfect and very flattering, and I really like the features like zippered side pockets and the deep- well interior pockets that will hold my larger items, making it perfect for travel. This jacket I has an incredible warmth to weight ratio. The reinforced areas are positioned perfectly for use with backpacks and tactical gear. Very comfortable and warm. Packs up very nicely if you ’ re a backpacker and space conscious.
5
Arion H
I like the cut of OR jackets. I am 6 ’ 1 ” 235. The Helium Down does not disappoint regarding warmth. It has that soft down feeling with added structural integrity where one might carry a pack. The gusseting in the arm allow for a full range of motion without much rise. I have long arms and can still draw out without the jacket tightening too much in the back. If for some reason I found myself in dire need of more warmth I could wear it underneath a jacket or shell because it could compress enough to almost be a base layer and not sacrifice its loft. At which point I am certain to roast.
5
Finn
This jacket served me well for 10 years of steady use every winter/fall and I finally replaced it. The quality is superb, the new Pertex Shield on the shoulders/arms gives it a much more durable feel. It has a premium feel in the hand and is a nice blend of weight/durability. Fits great with layers underneath, but also works well as a mid- layer under a shell. I 'm a fan of the new color options too. In summary, this is a durable, lightweight, packable and versatile jacket that does its job in the back- country but transitions seamlessly to the front- country. Highly recommended.

I have a number of OR gear/jackets/fleece. For reference I 'm 5'10 '' and weigh 215 average build so I typically wear an XL in OR and L in some other brands depending on fit. This jacket is very well made and everything fits to be expected except at the waist. It's very small compared to my other OR jackets which surprises me. It is warm but the Storm color is n't accurately represented in the pictures. It's a much lighter grey color in person.

This jacket has ended all desire to purchase anything else. Great quality and build. It ’s kept me warm and dry on chilly pow days and the vents keep me cool on the sunnier days. The oversized hood goes over my helmet and keeps me very cozy. Easily the best jacket I ’ ve invested in. It is a little big but that does allow me to layer comfortably while still maintaining mobility. I ’ d prefer this over a tighter fit and baggy is steezier anyway. If anything, I would prefer zippered internal pockets but that ’s just me being nit picky.

Superb jacket. Bought one in navy initially and have since bought several in different colours. It ’s really versatile, looks great with outdoor gear, jeans or more formal wear and is trusty and hard wearing. Fit is spot on and pockets are useful. Like the hem cord to bunch it up when necessary and the hood protects from the wind. I like the brand as it represents quality but isn ’ t an obvious or common choice. Jackets get lots of positive comments. I haven ’ t waxed any of mine as I imagine it will lose some of its tactile qualities; if I used them for more outdoor/adventurous activities I ’ d be happy to wax.

Although not all Fjallraven items last a lifetime, this one just might. Elegant enough to take to work and wear as an outer layer over a sweater for a nice dinner. However when it needs to take abuse, it takes that abuse like a champ. Highly recommend it. Other competitors just don ’ t have the same quality to compete with this bad boy.

I am surprised by how much I appreciate this old- school jacket. It is extremely durable; very comfortable and quiet; and has a beautiful timeless design and style. I have been wearing the Skogso as my everyday jacket- and bought this one on sale as a work/barn/farm jacket. I must say that I love it so much I almost hate to only wear it on the farm! That being said it is the best farm coat I have ever had- I use it in every season, with wool/down underneath in the New Brunswick winter. A note on the waterproofness of wax- treated G- 1000- one can greatly increase the waterproofness( and durability) of G- 1000 with wax treatment( and although a bit tedious, if you enjoy looking after/maintaining fine things, it is actually fun!). That being said, no one wold claim it is as waterproof as a modern( and toxic) synthetic waterproof- '' breathable '' material. But, G- 1000 breathes better than any modern synth rain jacket; and( this is rarely mentioned) G- 1000 drys incredibly fast- even while wearing it. For me the pros of G- 1000 greatly outweigh it being less waterproof than a synth jacket. I am not going to the moon- both I and my clothes can dry by the fire; in the sun; or even walking on the trail. This is a superb jacket. Though I have never owned one- this jacket sure looks very close to the Vidda Pro- surely the Vidda Pro is based on this design?

After six months of use, I thought it was time to write a review of this jacket. I purchased the Greenland Jacket in the fall, so now after seeing three of the four seasons it's best suited for, I can say it was an excellent choice for various reasons. First, its durability. It's functioned well in both heavy rain and snow. I 've had to reapply the wax coating three times( the first attempt was a failure). I would not advise using a hairdryer to melt the wax. It's both time- consuming and results in an uneven blotchy look. Go with an iron, apply light even layers of wax and you 'll find the outcome far superior. Once I used this method, I was satisfied with the overall outcome. The Greenland Jacket will work very well during the shoulders seasons as well as the wintertime. Second, it's a great choice for layering during the colder months. I 'm 6' 0 '' 185lbs and a large will fit well as a single layer( jacket only) as well as an outer layer with a down insulation layer under the Greenland. I 've owned( and still own) various shells and this in now my go- to outer layer in the winter months. It provides moisture protection and the features I both wanted and discovered I did n't know I wanted! The four large button pockets are great for storage, easy to access when wearing gloves, and blend well with the overall look. I also found the front two- way zipper to be a great option for venting when heat dumping becomes necessary. The only small complaint is the zipper can sometimes be difficult to start, but nothing that would make me reconsider this product. Lastly, it's a stylish timeless look. There's a reason this design has been around for decades, its functionality as well as the timeless look. So in terms of both function and style, this is near the top of any choice out there. After buying the Greenland and now six months in, I can say it was a great choice and I think most anyone would agree.

I am not a skier but I wanted a jacket that would keep me warm and dry in very cold temperatures and winter precipitation. The day after I bought this I took a long walk along a country road wearing this jacket over a t- shirt with temperatures in the mid- 20s( F) that soon saw precipitation in the form of wind- driven light snow and sleet. I was amazed at the cozy, comfortable feel this jacket provided. I will never second- guess this purchase- love this jacket!

Good winter and low temp jacket. Its longer and a tad baggy/active since its made for riding, so take your normal size and layer underneath for really cold days. It's super comfortable and will keep you warm and dry. Hood is definitely a little too Raph, it's made for riding with a helmet on, so its too big for casual wear but I knew that would be the case for any snowboard jacket so it does n't bother me.

I 've owned a lot of jackets over the years. Helly Hansen, Eddie Bauer, Spyder, Khul, Mammut, etc. This is by far the warmest jacket I 've ever owned. Even at 30- 35 degrees( F) I sometimes find myself unzipping it as it is too much insulation. I 've worn it out to about 5 degrees with only a light sweater under it and was not even slightly cold. There are more technical jackets out there if you 're looking for backcountry skiing stuff but if you 're just looking for something to keep you warm around town, winter hiking, or sledding with your kids, you ca n't beat this. Also looks great and super comfortable.

Love this jacket. Bought the medium but unfortunately due to the mid- life spread it was too tight around the mid drift, so that one to a friend. Bought another in large, fits like a glove and both of us have gotten some good wear out of these already. An absolute perfect jacket, I would love to see Fjallraven make this a full winter jacket with extra insulation similar to the Nuuk Parka, then it would be an absolute beast of a jacket.

Absolutely love this jacket. It's exactly what I was looking for when it's cold and damp outside. Fits like a glove and stylish as well. You ca n't go wrong with this jacket.

I have had this Jacket for now the 3rd winter and my wife has the female counterpart we love the jacket. It is exceptionally warm and as it stops the wind and and does resist moisture. I have worn this jacket in- 40 wind chills and dont feel a thing. I recommend whenever possible!

This jacket was bought gor me as a gift about a month ago and I think I 've worn it every day since, through November into December, in a wet and Stormy Wales. The medium fits my 5'11 '' frame perfectly. Warmth is n't an issue. I 've worn the jacket with only a t shirt beneath, in windy, freezing temps, with no issue at all. Lots of handy pockets and a hood that works best with a hat worn beneath. Regarding rain. I 'm not going to wear the jacket for prolonged rain. But for showers or drizzle my unwaxed jacket works just fine. For the time being I 'm not going to wax it, as I like the way the jacket looks and I do n't want to change that. So a superb jacket for cold, windy, damp days. I love it.

Replacing an older TNF Goretex hard shell that held up for a very long time until the zippers failed. First impressions is that the number of pockets and their positioning is exactly the type of thing you did n't know you needed until you have it. Feels light and offers good maneuverability. Just roomy enough that layering with mid layer does n't feel bulky and stuffed. Although the armpit area is a bit snug, I have a Denali fleece so maybe the newer FutureFleece models will fit better. I have high hopes this jacket will hold up for years snowboarding here on our icy slopes. I 'm already liking the tech designed into this jacket.

I wanted a jacket with Sherpa lining in the inside. For some reason it keeps me warmer. That ’s the main reason I bought it. The quality of these Columbia jackets does not disappoint. I bought this in preparation for a trip where I was expecting temps in the low 40s, wind, and rain, but needed a few easily accessible pockets, too. This coat worked perfectly for me, keeping me dry, warm, and relatively protected from the wind( with the hood), too. The lack of an inner pocket was a bit of a miss, but the two outer breast pockets worked well for my phone and( when traveling, and worried about pickpockets) wallet.

Jacket has performed beyond expectations! I purchased this jacket to use for downhill Skiing, with the expectation that i would use it in more mild temperatures. I live in the NWT, Canada where temperatures can reach as low as- 50C. more often than not i find myself reaching for this jacket( layering during colder temperatures) for most of my winter activities! This jacket has great waterproofing and breathability& very good and breaking the chill from the wind. i would recomend this jacket to anyone who is active in the winter at a range of temperatures as it is very easy to layer up underneath. 10/10

I recently purchased Columbia jackets for both my son and daughter, and I could n't be happier with the quality and performance! The jackets are not only stylish but also exceptionally functional. Overall, Columbia has once again proven why they 're a trusted brand for outdoor wear. I highly recommend these jackets to any parent looking for reliable, stylish, and durable outerwear for their children!
5
Jessica
[ This is a great jacket for those rainy spring days. My child runs hot, so the light weight nature of the jacket is very compatible with her. The lining also helps wick away moisture from the skin. I love the hood because it ’s large enough and is adjustable. The fit of the jacket enables some layering, if the child can handle having a micro down under this... I just like buying Columbia for my child because it ’s good enough quality considering it will be outgrown in 1 season.

I bought this in Tigerlily Orange on sale to use as a casual jacket for spring/summer, particularly when it's cooler out in the evenings. I ordered my usual size M and I love the way it fits- it's a bit oversized/boxy throughout the body but in a good way. I love that it has a hood and that it's got a DWR finish so I do n't have to worry if I get caught in the rain while walking to work. The color is not as saturated as shown in the pics. I 'd describe it as more of a softer creamsicle color rather than a tigerlily orange. But I still love it. I think it's a great value for the sale price I paid of$ 118. I 've been watching a number of reviews prior to purchasing this rain jacket, and finally pulled the trigger when I had an opportunity to try it on in store. The mustard colour is great in person, but what I 'm really impressed with is the build quality. All of the reviews talk highly of how well constructed this jacket is, and I ca n't disagree. What I was n't expecting was how the slight stretch in the jacket would clearly separate it from other similar rain jackets from other brands. It makes it a very comfortable rain jacket. My only knock? Sizing is really confusing and I 'm glad I was able to try it on in store. Based on the size guide, I would have purchased an XXL online. I have a 46 '' chest( 6' 4 '' and around 225 lbs). My Abisko trail fleeces are XXL. My Abisko Midsummer jacket is an XL. I bought a L. This is n't without precedent: I have a Greenland jacket in a L, and it fits fine. You might say `` you 'll never be able to layer with it! '' Well... I went looking for a thick fleece in store and had it under the jacket and it fit fine. So yeah- this jacket fits large. I think I would have been fine with an XL, but I like the slightly slimmer fit of the L.

[ I bought this jacket with the upcoming Winter in mind replacing my previous ten years ’ old puffer. I can tell it ’s going to be warm enough for the E coast winter but what really blows my mi d is just how light it is. [ Despite it being spring, it is 40 degrees, rainy and cold today. This newly purchased jacket was the perfect solution! Great fit, insulated, hood that fits without sagging, quality material and construction. This jacket is a light, packable, and comfortable. Perfect for warm weather adventures that just need a little extra layer to block the wind. It packs down into a small pouch that can be tossed in your pack or beach bag for that `` ace in the hole '' when needed. Unlike many competing brands, this jacket is made of a very soft material and does not have the crinkle feeling like you are putting on a trash bag. Also unique to this jacket compared to it's competitor's is that it has front handwarmer pockets as well as a chest pocket( most packable options do not). The pockets in my opinion bring it from just being a quick grab backup plan to an intentionally worn and functional jacket. The chest pocket is a great spot to quickly store your cell phone and the front hand pockets give you that sensation like you just put on your favorite hoodie sweatshirt. I have worn it while hiking mountains during the summer in Maine to hanging out on the beach in Costa Rica on a windy day.
5
Intermittent Grouch
This jacket is extremely comfortable. I 'm 5' 6 '' with broad shoulders and a more or less triangular shape( not a body builder by any stretch, though). The medium fits me perfectly with room to layer. I expect it's long enough for taller people, too. It breaths well, provides good wind protection, and a small amount of protection from precipitation. The first time I tried running in this jacket, the hood flopped annoyingly into my field of view. I have since discovered that you can just fold the brim back once or twice to tighten up the fit. This may look a little wonky, but it works beautifully, and it's the only option, since there's no drawstring adjustment on the hood. It's very nice to have hand- warmer pockets, which many wind shells omit.
5
PNWhiker28
I bought this to try out in spring/summer in Washington and it is fantastic. It's super light weight but does a great job at blocking the wind and light rain. The fit is trim but not overly loose( I got a large with a 41 '' chest, 6', 188 lbs). It has quickly become my go to windbreaker and has replaced my Arc'teryx Squamish hoody. Definitely worth the buy!

happy with this jacket. i used at mt Bachelor for four days. it was cold week but i never got cold, in fact i had to open vents. i 'm 6' 1 '' and its very comfortable fit. hood its true helmet compatible. main zipper sometimes was stubborn but manageable. i would improve the top of inside part of zipper where Gore- Tex material is touching your face/ mouth when hood is over the helmet by putting softer cloth material, maybe even this piece could be removable for often cleaning. overall good jacket.

Warm jacket. My last jacket was a medium but this one fits longer so I bought the small. I 'm 5' 7 '' 150lbs athletic build. Overall great jacket!

I really like this jacket. I took it on a spring snowboard trip and it worked great. The pit zips really helped as the day warmed up. The mapped insulation also works well.

Used for the first time yesterday in a downpour of wet snow and a little rain, dry as a bone at the end of the day. Great features to store your ski pass and everyday carry items( phone, keys, wallet).

Great cover jacket for bad weather- especially the rain. My daughter goes to college in Oregon and she loves this jacket for going to classes and before and after soccer practice.
