I have been using these lures for over 5yrs now and I have caught just about every species of fish that's in Lake Erie on these lures. I would highly recommend these lures to anyone that's serious about walleye fishing. I saw that someone had mentioned the back hooks pulling out of the lures. I have never experienced this and I have caught walleyes in the 12lb. Range and also lakers that have been 20+ lbs and never had a fish pull the hooks out of the lure.

This is another one of my go- to lures. I find it to be very versatile, I use it as a wake bait or twitch and rise presentation; or just straight crank in. I 've been fishing fresh and salt water with the Johnson's Minnow spoon for over 60 years and find them perfect for fishing the grassy flats, weeds and pads for nearly all fish. I always hook on a plastic grub or pork rind strip as I believe that enhances the effectiveness. Some times I 'll cast onto a pad and wiggle it off, or let it settle on the bottom, then retrieve with a small jerk similar to fishing a plastic worm. It casts easily so 1/4 oz. is good for most spinning outfits, while 1/2 oz. works best with a casting rod. For me, silver has been the best all around, but I 'm trying out colors too, especially for salt water. If I had to fish just one spoon this would be it because of it's versatility.

Bought the lure to augment an offshore trolling spread consisting of surface and near- surface lines. Fished the plug on 20- pound trolling outfit, with 12- foot 150- pound mono leader, run about 100 feet down the middle. The plug pulls hard when trolled at 7 to 8 knots, but digs down and swims well, even at that speed-- although anglers should be warned that at that speed, a 20 is about as light as you can go, as the lure will take line off the reel if anything less than 7 pounds of drag is used. Primary target for the lure was dolphin( mahi- mahi), which hit it well when not showing on the surface; the plug drew a strike from my largest mahi of the 2018 season.

There's many options but what is nice about the Madeel the soft plastic is pre- formed with dedicated hook shank guide so there's no need to measure or keep retrying to center the hook or where it protrudes. Sometimes a Tsunami or Hogy eel does not work throw a Madeel and see if you get a hookup. Its' what happens to me all the time when one profile is seen too much another offering produces a strike. The plastic is also formed to the contours of its jighead so you will always get a consistent swim action.

One of my favorite new lures from yo- Zuri. Very versatile and works well especially in the back bays/rivers. Caught a few striped bass one night when nothing else worked. The only issue is the treble hooks. I swapped them out with single hooks so it wouldn ’ t get tangled up in the net/cause injuries to me as well as the fish.

So Booyah advertises that this frog is still heavy enough to cast with bait casting gear. I assure you, they 're correct and that any average bait casting gear can absolutely cast this frog! And with the right set up, you can cast it a country mile!!! This product is equally built when compared to it's big brother `` Pad Crasher '' and both are top quality hollow body frogs for a more than reasonable price. These baits get noticed when they are in the water and catch fish! Do n't underestimate the `` Jr '' it's smaller profile will absolutely still catch `` the big fish ''! The full size Pad Crasher is great when hunting that lunker or looking for the kicker fish to take to the scales, but the Jr. is the one in your arsenal that you 'll want to focus on first to fill the live- well or for a fun day of fishing.
