We have 10 of these and use them all the time. Every good coach knows he must always practice basic fundamentals and this is a core component to our practices. We use them for ground ball and popup practices. Our boys square in front of the ball and use the alligator hand approach on grounds in games and two hands during pop ups. A fun thing we do at the end of practice is use a softball sized foam ball, softhands and regular composite bats. Split the boys into two teams and play a game at the end of practice. It comes with 4 lawn stakes, go and buy like 4 more, they are super inexpensive and will help it from tipping over if you accidentally hit on the very top. Only other downside it the screws provided, they will get damaged, I have been using this for about 60 hours now and still have n't broken them, but it's starting to strip the screws provided. My son was falling behind his team mates as I could n't pitch a baseball to him. We did some research and this was a great entry level machine for us. We got it for him when he was 9 and have used it for 4 years. He has out grown the speed, but it is great to angle up and shoot out fly balls. I also angled it down and we can shoot out grounders. Great machine and well worth the investment.
