T- rig with 1/4- 3/8 oz tungsten bullet weight and a 4/0- 5/0 off set worm hook. You can use a 1/16- 1/8 oz bullet weight if you are using spinning gear. Cast to some cover and let it set on the bottom for a stretch with occasional twitches. Hits most often occur as the worm is falling to the bottom... but I have also had hits shortly after the worm hits the bottom and is just setting there. Stitch it along the bottom by lifting and dropping your rod tip 6 '' or so. Slowly works best, but the bass will tell you what they want. Do n't be afraid to tie on a big worm when you are fishing for largemouth bass! I 've had bass< 1 lb hit this worm like a train. I keep my colors simple... black and green pumpkin are all you need. Those 2 work in all conditions. A great worm by Zoom!!

Great cheap bait rather than the more expensive Zoom! This bait is extremely versatile: you can fish it on the top around points and laydowns, swim it underwater over objects, pads, grass, or use it like a senko. I transition from Zoom to Yum because of the expense. Best colors for my area( stained water) is junebug, watermelon w/ red flake, or black. I 've tried all the colors and the previous three work. This has truly morphed into my confidence bait! It is extremely durable. I can catch about 5 fish before the bait is worn out. It also will not stay on the hook after a few tugs by fish. The solution is to bite about 1/4 '' off the top, and re- thread it on the hook. Another alternative is to use `` gel '' super glue on the hook and thread it. It 'll stay. Use it with a 3/8oz weight pegged or leave about 2 '' from the bobber stopper. I also use a little chartreuse on the tail for the watermelon color( about 1/4- 1/2 ''). Now the negative, the tail is extremely weak. It 'll break if you rip it from cover, or miss a cast and it ends up in a tree/bush. The tail will rip partially or completely off. Other fish with serrated teeth will rip the tail... but hey, those fish will rip a senko too!

When you 've tried all the other colors- you can sometimes get the bite going again with these `` tan '' colored pieces. A lift- and- fall retrieve usually works for me and I just got back from Moonstone Beach in Cambria, CA where I scored 2. 5 puund Barred Surf Perch with this bait. They 're pricy- but worth it. Forget about the pouch once you 've open it- put the sandworms in a glass jar to keep them from dying out. BTW- the `` Recharge Juice '' they sell is worthless- so save the original packing liquid with great care.
