One of the top lures of all time, been fishing with them since 1975. One of my all time favorites and go to lures as well as start with lures. Prefer the hammered chrome in 5/8, 3/4, 1oz. The hammered chrome seems to have a slight edge over the plain chrome in my estimation. You may have to get the 1 oz on Ebay vintage listing as I do n't think you will fine it listed. Great cast, trolled or deep water jigged. Will take most fish but I use for lake trout, walleye, N. Pike.

A bass spoon is a type of fishing lure designed to mimic the movement of baitfish in the water. It is typically made of metal and has a concave shape that allows it to create a unique wobbling action when retrieved. Anglers use bass spoons to attract bass and other predatory fish, particularly in freshwater environments.
Bass spoons are primarily made from metal, which provides durability and a reflective surface that can attract fish. Some spoons may also feature additional coatings or finishes to enhance their visibility in the water. The choice of material affects the weight and action of the spoon, influencing its effectiveness in different fishing conditions.
Bass spoons come in various styles, including different shapes, sizes, and finishes. Some may have a more elongated design for a faster retrieve, while others are wider for a slower, more erratic action. Additionally, colors and patterns can vary, allowing anglers to select spoons that match the local forage or water conditions.
The best time to use bass spoons is often during the warmer months when bass are actively feeding. Early morning and late evening can be particularly effective times, as fish are more likely to be near the surface. Additionally, using spoons can be beneficial in cooler water temperatures when fish are less active and require a more enticing presentation.
Choosing the right size bass spoon depends on several factors, including the type of fish you are targeting and the fishing conditions. Generally, larger spoons can be more effective in deeper waters or when targeting larger fish, while smaller spoons may work better in shallower areas or for smaller species. It's also important to consider the local forage size to match the spoon accordingly.
