My 8 year old son swings this pretty well. He's swinging a 30/20. When he barrels it up, no vibrations. Hit on the handle or end cap, he feels it. I do n't see that as a problem. I see that as reinforcement to make sure you hit the ball with the barrel. I mean you really only have to touch a hot stove once to learn that lesson. My son( 7) just finished his first +/- 300 swings indoor and outdoor. He likes the look and feel of the bat. We are fortunate to have access to cages over 70 feet. This is important because he have a arguable data compared against his previous USA stamp( Omaha). My son was excited to see he could now hit a line drive to the end of the cage with relative ease. As a high school coach that played/coached under BESR this bat is reminiscent of the “ old days. ” The bat has pop! The sweet spot seems to have some give as he ’s not always barreling balls. I ’ m hoping it holds up throughout the season as he has some room to grow( 27/17).

I switched my 8 y/o from a composite hype fire to this mid- season for travel ball, 8u. Although this is heavier(- 10 vs- 12), he hit the ball harder with it and I feel it had more pop for him. I honestly do not believe many smaller coach pitch players have the bat head speed in their swing to get the full benefit from a composite bat. My closest Dick's just happened to have 1 left in stock in his size so I grabbed it and I am glad I did. If he does n't outgrow it, he will use it next year in 9u.

My 9 year old who plays 10U AAA travel got himself this bat for Christmas with his gift cards from family. It is balanced in the swing and seems durable. I wouldn ’ t say it ’s a ton different than his CatX Rckless but maybe a little more pop off the barrel. He loves it and is thrilled to have it this season.
