Good bat with tons of pop and big sweet spot. It ’s extremely balanced compared to any 28/18 composite on his team. It ’s slightly heavier than the 2024 model, but less than an oz difference. Biggest take away is that it ’s hotter than 2024 model on exit velocity, but isn ’ t as forgiving on miss hits and rattles the hands a lot more.

I switched my 8 y/o from a composite hype fire to this mid- season for travel ball, 8u. Although this is heavier(- 10 vs- 12), he hit the ball harder with it and I feel it had more pop for him. I honestly do not believe many smaller coach pitch players have the bat head speed in their swing to get the full benefit from a composite bat. My closest Dick's just happened to have 1 left in stock in his size so I grabbed it and I am glad I did. If he does n't outgrow it, he will use it next year in 9u.

My 8 year old son swings this pretty well. He's swinging a 30/20. When he barrels it up, no vibrations. Hit on the handle or end cap, he feels it. I do n't see that as a problem. I see that as reinforcement to make sure you hit the ball with the barrel. I mean you really only have to touch a hot stove once to learn that lesson. We purchased this bat for my son to use in colder weather. In warmer weather, he uses his Rawlings Icon but in the early season it ’s the Cat X2 Connect. It swings similar to the Icon. He thinks it a bit more balanced than the Icon. They are both 32 ” drop 5 ’s.
