I caught crappies cast after cast with this bait. I was fishing off of a dock, and I just cast out, counted down to where I wanted it, and started cranking. The crappies were all over it. Sometimes I will tie a small jig about 12- 24 '' in front of it. The jig can add more color more color in case of dirty water or finicky fish, and the blade's action will make the jig( both jigs) `` dance. '' And you can catch a few doubles. My only complaint is that the 1/16 oz can be difficult to cast very far, which is another reason I like to add a jig ahead of it.

5 bassyg
This bait really works great have caught crappie, pickerel, yellow perch all in the same day using this, down side is after the fish tear up the lure replacing it with the spare the body splits in half making it usless cant glue it together either but using another 2 inch soft bait will work i believe that the flash and wobble drives the strike i notified z man about this Perhaps the can use the same material as their trd soft baits making them un- tearable

5 Dan17y
After purchasing one and trying it out, had to buy all the colors. Caught bass, perch, crappie, etc. Also works in saltwater. Buying more for sure.

5 Fisher_of_fish
I love these baits. I have caught Largemouths( up to 2lbs), smallmouths, crappie( the best for this bait), bluegill, and even catfish with these. Perfect size for the lake or the river, or even small stream for pan fish. The chatter draws the fish to you, so you do n't have to be right on top of them. Especially if its a body of water that are naive to chatter style baits- the novelty of the chatter drive the fish into a frenzy. I throw the plastic minnows that come with these in the trash. I pair them with a gulp 2. 5 '' minnow( I left a similar review there too). Black or emerald shiners or fire tigers on cloudy days. The chatter draws the fish to you, and the gulp minnows keeps them there with there irresistible taste/texture. I usually use silver blades, but I have n't noticed a difference between silver and gold. The paint can chip off if you are fishing in a rocky river, but I still catch fish with a chipped head. Relatively durable- I think I usually catch about 100 fish( maybe more) per rig before it starts to fall apart( the chatter blade or weight can break off). I consider that good value.

5 Angler Jeff
Have been using Z Man Chatterbaits for a while, sometimes they work. The Mini Chatterbait seems to catch a lot more fish! Bass and Pike both seem to like it! Nice motion, easy to use.

Frequently Asked Questions For Bladed Jigs

A bladed jig is a type of fishing lure that combines a traditional jig head with a blade that creates vibrations and flash in the water. This unique design helps attract fish by mimicking the movement of prey, making it an effective choice for various fishing conditions. The blade's action can trigger strikes from fish that may not respond to standard jigs, enhancing your chances of a successful catch.

Bladed jigs are versatile lures that can attract a wide range of freshwater and saltwater fish species. They are particularly effective for bass, pike, and other predatory fish that are drawn to the vibrations and flash created by the blade. Depending on the color and size of the bladed jig, anglers can target different species in various environments.

Bladed jigs offer several advantages over traditional jigs, including increased visibility and vibration in the water, which can entice fish that may be less active. The added movement from the blade can create a more lifelike presentation, making it easier to trigger strikes. Additionally, bladed jigs can be fished at various depths and speeds, providing versatility for different fishing scenarios.

Bladed jigs are typically made from durable materials such as metal for the blade and a sturdy composite or lead for the jig head. The skirts are often made from silicone or rubber, which adds to the lure's movement and appeal in the water. These materials are chosen for their ability to withstand the rigors of fishing while providing an attractive presentation to fish.

Yes, bladed jigs are suitable for a variety of fishing environments, including freshwater lakes, rivers, and even saltwater areas. Their design allows them to be effective in both open water and around structures like rocks or vegetation. Anglers can adapt their retrieval techniques and the weight of the jig to match the specific conditions they are fishing in.

Retrieval techniques for bladed jigs can vary, but a common method is to use a steady, moderate retrieve to keep the blade spinning and creating vibrations. Anglers may also experiment with pauses or erratic movements to mimic injured prey, which can trigger aggressive strikes. Adjusting the speed and style of retrieval based on water conditions and fish behavior can enhance effectiveness.
