I caught crappies cast after cast with this bait. I was fishing off of a dock, and I just cast out, counted down to where I wanted it, and started cranking. The crappies were all over it. Sometimes I will tie a small jig about 12- 24 '' in front of it. The jig can add more color more color in case of dirty water or finicky fish, and the blade's action will make the jig( both jigs) `` dance. '' And you can catch a few doubles. My only complaint is that the 1/16 oz can be difficult to cast very far, which is another reason I like to add a jig ahead of it.

5 bassyg
This bait really works great have caught crappie, pickerel, yellow perch all in the same day using this, down side is after the fish tear up the lure replacing it with the spare the body splits in half making it usless cant glue it together either but using another 2 inch soft bait will work i believe that the flash and wobble drives the strike i notified z man about this Perhaps the can use the same material as their trd soft baits making them un- tearable

5 Dan17y
After purchasing one and trying it out, had to buy all the colors. Caught bass, perch, crappie, etc. Also works in saltwater. Buying more for sure.

5 Fisher_of_fish
I love these baits. I have caught Largemouths( up to 2lbs), smallmouths, crappie( the best for this bait), bluegill, and even catfish with these. Perfect size for the lake or the river, or even small stream for pan fish. The chatter draws the fish to you, so you do n't have to be right on top of them. Especially if its a body of water that are naive to chatter style baits- the novelty of the chatter drive the fish into a frenzy. I throw the plastic minnows that come with these in the trash. I pair them with a gulp 2. 5 '' minnow( I left a similar review there too). Black or emerald shiners or fire tigers on cloudy days. The chatter draws the fish to you, and the gulp minnows keeps them there with there irresistible taste/texture. I usually use silver blades, but I have n't noticed a difference between silver and gold. The paint can chip off if you are fishing in a rocky river, but I still catch fish with a chipped head. Relatively durable- I think I usually catch about 100 fish( maybe more) per rig before it starts to fall apart( the chatter blade or weight can break off). I consider that good value.

Have been using Z Man Chatterbaits for a while, sometimes they work. The Mini Chatterbait seems to catch a lot more fish! Bass and Pike both seem to like it! Nice motion, easy to use.

Great action and vibration in the water. Pair w/ your favorite swim bait or craw trailer and you are ready to go. Next purchase I will go w/ the 1/2oz. so I can work the bait a little faster and stay deeper.

This lure has excellent sound and vibration. Both of these are great fish attractors.

I 've never used a chatter bait such as this lure, but after catching a 3# large mouth and a 1# black crappie within an hour of each other- I 'm sure it will become a go- to for me.

This is a very good bait a good true running bait liked his bait very much

5 MK61
I 've been fishing the JackHammer now for a few months. I 've stuck fish in ponds, local lakes and in the creeks. It's the fastest starting chatterbait I 've ever thrown and just flat gets bit. Colors are great and paint is surprisingly durable, skirts stay in place, killer trailer keeper, great Gamakatsu hook. I do n't think you can design a better chatterbait. I 've had good success on Spot Remover, B. Hite Delight and Green Pumpkin. Pair it with a Yamamoto Zako, zman Razor Shad or a strike king rage craw. Last day I fished these, we had 4 folks on the boat all fishing chatterbaits, 3 fishing jackhammers and one guy fishing a standard zman chatterbait. jackhammers outfished the standard about 8 to 1 regardless of color. So make your own call,$ 20 for a chatterbait is steep, but in my experience it 'll outfish any other chatterbait.

looks good but so expensive also it does run really nice so i guess its pretty good

Finally gave in and tried this out. It's overly expensive but it definitely does work. Try different trailers.

Frequently Asked Questions For Vibrating Jigs

A vibrating jig is a type of fishing lure designed to create vibrations in the water, attracting fish through sound and movement. It typically features a weighted head and a hook, with a skirt that adds visual appeal. When retrieved, the jig's unique design causes it to wobble and vibrate, mimicking the action of prey, making it effective for various fishing conditions.

Vibrating jigs are versatile lures that can be used to catch a variety of freshwater and saltwater fish species. They are particularly effective for bass, pike, and other predatory fish that are attracted to the vibrations and movement created by the jig. Anglers often use them in different water conditions to target specific species.

Vibrating jigs are typically made from durable materials such as metal for the head and hooks, and synthetic fibers for the skirts. These materials are chosen for their ability to withstand the rigors of fishing while providing the necessary action and vibration in the water. The combination of materials also affects the jig's weight, buoyancy, and overall performance.

Vibrating jigs can be effective year-round, but they are particularly useful during certain seasons and conditions. They excel in warmer months when fish are more active and can be used in both shallow and deep water. Additionally, they are often effective in murky water where vibrations can help attract fish that may not see the lure clearly.

Choosing the right size vibrating jig depends on the type of fish you are targeting and the fishing conditions. Generally, larger jigs are used for bigger fish in deeper waters, while smaller jigs are better suited for shallower areas or smaller species. It's also important to consider the water clarity and current when selecting the size to ensure optimal performance.

Effective techniques for using a vibrating jig include steady retrieves, erratic movements, and varying the speed to mimic prey behavior. Anglers often experiment with different retrieval speeds and pauses to see what triggers strikes. Additionally, incorporating a hopping or bouncing action can also enhance the jig's effectiveness in enticing fish.
