I have about 20 of these jigs. Where I fish, I lose jigs a lot. This is my best, most affordable option. It also happens to catch fish better for me than bigger jigs. I am totally addicted to these mini- jigs. Sometimes the line- tie is filled with paint, and the paint chips. I have yet to find a jig( at least a mini- jig) that does n't have the `` filled line- tie hole '' issue sometimes, and the chipped paint is n't a huge issue.

I have used this jig on Lewis Smith Lake in Alabama, a very deep and extremely clear lake for both spotted and largemouth bass with excellent results. I was looking for a 7 to 7. 5 ft super light rod to pair up with a light Daiwa 3000 class spinning reel primarily for targeting fluke in the surf. I found the 7 ft Jigging World ONYX medium action rod at Dick's, and was shocked at how light( under 6 ounces), strong, and sensitive it was. Getting a pure carbon rod at just over$ 100 is an incredible bargain. Paired the rod up with the Daiwa 3000 spooled with 10lb Yozuri Super Braid and 15lb Deception Fluorocarbon leader, and it has been perfect. The entire setup weight is around a pound and I can fish it all day easily. Very satisfied. Looking to purchase more ONYX rods in different sizes and strengths for other applications.

I bought this rod back in April for a June annual trip to the Nantucket Shoals. We use heavy lead to fish fluke at 100' or better there. I did not love this stick for fluke. On a whim, I gave it as shot locally on Long Island for jigging stripers with flutter spoons. I will say hands down this is an awesome rod for that use. Plenty of action in the rod. It bends perfect for fighting big stripers. I paired this with a 5. 3 Avet reel( not sold at Dicks) and it performed great. For me it is not a good fluke rod, but really like it for bigger fishing and active jigging.

Bought the 1/4 oz and paired it with the Berkley Chigger Craw. Worked nicely fishing from my kayak. Picked up smallies along rocky bluffs, and lay downs on it. Doesn ’ t miss much on hooks sets. And I ’ ve yet to chip any paint off of the jig head. I would recommend this product.
