[ I have been going back and forth with this carabiner. I do like it lot and it does address the issue of cross loading quite well. The DMM Ceros Quicklock Carabiner is my favorite for tubes and this has become my favorite for assisted device. I use it with the Mad Rock Lifeguard and of course they match up perfect. The only issue I have had is the belay loop side could be a smidgin larger.( really not a big deal- but why I gave 4 stars on ease of use) But on the positive the `` red '' gate operates both gates. Push the `` red '' gate and both open. The blue gate is independent if opened independently.

[ The William carabiner is a large frame, high load model. 27kn rating! Nice snag- free key lock design, with a wide gate opening. I typically use this as a masterpoint on multi- pitch trad anchors and top rope anchors due to its strength rating and it's rope capacity. There's more than enough room to clove hitch a 10. 2 rope twice! As with other Petzl screw locks, if the lock is overtightened or tightened while weighted it can get stuck. Simply reweighting or tapping on the screw lock while unscrewing it typically fixes the issue. I can see sandy areas causing an issue with binding on screw threads, but that is n't an issue that is unique to just this carabiner, it can affect all parts with threads. Overall fit and finish is exemplary, and the red indicator band is a nice touch.

[ Just got them delivered and have futzed with them at home but I have n't climbed yet so take this review for what it is. Initial impression is that I would gladly pay a little more for clean noses due to the tighter tolerances of the gate. I 'm sure most people would find a suitable use for them in their arsenal but it wo n't be their go- to for the majority of applications. I 'm going to experiment with them for while before buying another set, Initial purchase was for racking cams, may buy more for slings. It might not be user friendly with thicker ropes, I included a pic with a 9. 6 mm rope to get an idea of the clearance.

[ It's a good, small triple action auto- locker. I prefer triple action to a standard two action turn- and- open auto- locker. Quality is great, as is all DMM stuff I 've used. Matte black is sweet for all your special- ops mission needs but fuchsia or magenta anodized would be rad too. If you 're OK with the size, it's a fine auto- locker if you 're looking for this style. Check out the specs for clearance, etc for your use case, and check out size comparisons with others you may have used if you 're unsure. It's phantom HMS size, not three ropes hitched up plus munter madness size. Still quite a bit larger than `` crazy stone ''* wink wink* little black screwgates. My 3 star rating for the `` ease of use '' is for the stiffness of the triple action. It's more of a quadruple action, you kind of need to lift up, turn, lift up, then open. This is easy to do one handed when it's attached to something, like your harness or an anchor or tether, but it's difficult to do one handed in free space. It's certainly feels bomber secure and locked, I have no worries about it getting Konami coded into opening by accident. Great choice for most SMALL auto- locker use.

[ The purpose of this biner is to avoid cross- loading while belaying. Pros:- Easy to install on belay loop.- Does n't require opening the gate to open the belay- loop lock( like the BD one does).- Has a thick spine and large locking barrel to prevent a gri- gri from sliding in either direction.- The locking barrel is damped, and so does n't move if rattled while not locked all the way.- The locking barrel has a lot of extra travel- even if it started to come open, it would have to twist many times before allowing the gate to open.- Belay- loop lock spring tension is nice and high.- Quite light for the functionality! Cons:- The belay- loop gate makes racking a gri- gri on your harness slightly more awkward.( The grigri ends up sitting at the large end, and the wire gate sits on your gear loop).- The wide spine( a feature noted above) reduces the versatility of the biner, since it does n't fit into small holes( bolts, etc) as easily. But that's alright, since it's meant just for belaying anyway.

I use these as my main draws for sport climbing. I prefer wiregates, as I mainly climb slab or vertical. The Hotwires are light, durable, and have a confident clipping feel. The keeper has just the right amount of stiffness( if you know, you know). Gate action is still smooth and snappy, even after a season of use. As a matter of personal preference, I like the Hotwire's in- hand `` grip '' feel better than almost any other quickdraw I 've used( incl. Djinns, Photons, etc.), save for the Petzl Spirit, which are significantly more expensive. When climbing with both, I found there were times I still preferred the Hotwire. As for durability, my set looks close to new, after over a year of climbing and traveling, and despite catching a share of lead falls. The adonization on several shows minor signs of wear where the rope runs, but that is expected. Overall, at this performance/price point, you 're hard pressed to beat this draw!

[ Recently started retiring some old gear and decided to pick these up again. I 've used this brand of QDs for a while. Easy to clip and good for the whip is what I have to say. When you need something trustworthy for your sport climbing( veteran or newcomer). You ca n't go wrong!

Overall super good draw. It ’s light enough that you could use it for Chad but I mostly used it for sport climbing. I bought these to add onto my rack and have some longer drawers and have loved them so far. I really like the size and they work super well. This is definitely geared for more of a intermediate climber. I would definitely buy these draws again. I think you should buy these too.

Love the weight and durability. The wires on the gate are sturdy and make clipping much easier. While I would prefer to have a hybrid system, if you are looking to save weight and still have great durability, these are perfect.

[ Bought a few of these as bail biners, just leave one on my harness in case, barely notice it is there. Luckily have n't had to use one but this is better than leaving a quickdraw or other booty.

I am very impressed with this magnetic release clip. The attachment ring on one end is very strong and about. 75 inches across to accommodate various attachment styles. The clip attached to the other half of the magnet is very sturdy and made of metal. The magnets are very strong and require a substantial pull pressure in order to release them so that accidental separation is unlikely.

Used nine or ten times. Wire gates are a bit stiff. The carabiners have developed some serious burrs, but to be fair I have been using these on some pretty hard granite. Main complaint is Mammut sent me a set that was manufactured in 2017 giving me roughly five years of service life assuming they last that long. Over all a good rugged set of quick draws.

I Loke that it is easy to use with gloves on due to there size. The solid gate wake it easy to take from the gear loop and the wire gate save on weight. I like them for ice climbing. In summer I use lighter draws with small carabiners. I would like to see those draws with a 15- 18cm dogbone. Short draws are nice for some sport route, but then I personnaly use ligther draws.
