For me the most important thing was to be able to cut a lure off without having the knot remain behind on the hook or stuck in the eye of the lure. Also I wanted to be able to cut tag ends extremely close. Finally, I wanted to be able to cut even a limp line with one hand. These scissors do all those things. My only regret is that they were the last pair available. I am a combat Marine. I MUST have at least two of everything.

I have carried the same Gerber Multi- Tool for well over 25 years and a week ago I lost it, it went* missing*, who knows, in any case, I ordered a new Truss and I am VERY happy with it. I do some gun work at home and in the field and it seems to be perfect and fully up to the task!

I have owned my Truss for a year now and I use it almost daily, it has always performed when asked to. The blades are easy to maintain sharpness, the pliers are rigid and strong, and the scissors keep impressing me with what they will cut. I just received this in the mail, and upon examining it and testing it out- it seems to be sturdy and have everything you need. Knife is sharp, ruler is useful, and the pliers seem effective.

I personally own three of these. One for my bunker gear, one for my station pants, and one for my EDC. It is as solid as they come and just perfect for most tasks, even ones it should not be doing( firefighters have a way of doing that to tools) I have gotten plenty of other people in my department on this bandwagon, and I now exclusively purchase Gerber knives and miltitools. After loads of research trying to find the perfect EDC MT I found it in the Dime. The tool selection is excellent in this size of EDC. Quality is above average and I 'm sure this MT will be in my inventory for generations. I 've never owned a package opener but have to say that after discovering this device on the Dime I can now enjoy birthdays and holidays without the worry of dealing with those pesky plastic packages! Better than the small Swiss Army knife. I use the knife blade most. All blades are adequate... Yes, one is hard to open but I never use it anyway. Just got to remember that the size has its positive as well as negative points. Easy to carry in my pocket. Not too big or bulky. Not an overwhelming blade to use for self defense( ha ha). But usually adequate for most of your needs.

Excellent tool. I have the blackout version. Blades are a little stiff but not that you ca n't safely open them with a fingernail, with use they are getting smoother and easier to open. Scissors are great, package owner is nice and the tweezers are actually nice in a pinch. Bottle opener works well and is great to use to hook to a Key Chain or to run a piece of 550 cord through. The split ring for going on a key chain is weak and really useless. I 'll be buying one for my wife and daughter.
