Bought this for fishing out of my Hobie PA14 kayak and absolutely love it. It's by far my most sensitive rod tip and provide fast action. I use it for crank bait lures which allow me to feel the slightest of hits. Great rod!
5
Eric71
This rod has amazing accuracy when casting from a kayak. It's able to cast baits throughout its weight range a respectable distance. I 've had next to no backslashes while casting 1/4 ounce lures in breezy conditions. Without tightening up the reel. Low profile reels sit well in the reel seat for palming them. Gives the rod a sleek design. The rod is light and balanced. I have experienced very little fatigue fishing with it for 6 hours. Very sensitive feedback with jigs and crankbaits. First catch was an 18inch bass. This is an amazing and versatile rod for kayak fishing.

I 'm not an emotional man but I think my eyes got a little teary when I fished with this beautiful rod for the first time. The rod is very great balance. I have it paired with a low profile Abu Garcia IKE baitcaster. It has enough backbone for a large bass but is light enough you do n't get tired throwing this all day. I has great sensitivity and it just looks and feels good in hand. I love this Rod. If I could trade my wife for one of these I would.

I own a lot of high end rods, and these Duckett rods are great. I am not sure what the other guy did to break one, but I have hooked some HUGE fish and had zero problems. Micro guides give you an extreme sensitivity and longest casting distance of any rod I own. My favorite set up is this rod in Medium Heavy with Abu Revo Rocket reel.

I have been using Duckett Rods for about 18 months now. I have 22 Mirco Magic Pros and 4 Ghosts and could not be more satisfied with a rod. Super lightweight, strong, sensitive, and has great aesthetic appeal. I 've trusted these rods over the past 18 months to win thousands of dollars on the Bassmaster Opens trail. For whatever technique you 're fishing, Duckett makes a rod for you!

I read some reviews on Duckett's line of casting& spinning rods and decided to give the Micro Magic casting rod a try, primarily because of the great sale price at Dick's. In a word, it's OK. Alot of complaints about the eyes not holding up but I have n't had any issues yet. It's rated a little soft and found the medium closer to a med light, so I returned it and got a med heavy 7'... much better. Have n't used it that long, but so far so good. Worth the sale price for sure.

Orion18
Great rod for 99 bucks, I purchased the 7ft medium action which has great sensitivity with 36 ton graphite, metal locking nut and the trigger is very comfortable to fish with. I personally like the carbon fiber reel butt a lot, which is very nice looking and adds to the lightness of the rod. Nice lightweight rod especially paired up with my JDM Metanium. Can cast lighter lures easily if paired up with the right reel. I was able to cast smaller swimbaits which I usually use my spinning rod for. Loved it so far hoping it holds up well.

I have always wanted to a John Skinner Jig& bounce pole. I first noticed how extremely light this pole is. And its totatlly different from other jigging poles I have felt and owned. I am glad I purchased and Dicks shipping is extraordinary!! Blink of an eye its there. Great purchase and very satisfying shipping. Next I would like to see all the possibilities in a baitcaster reel.

I bought this rod back in April for a June annual trip to the Nantucket Shoals. We use heavy lead to fish fluke at 100' or better there. I did not love this stick for fluke. On a whim, I gave it as shot locally on Long Island for jigging stripers with flutter spoons. I will say hands down this is an awesome rod for that use. Plenty of action in the rod. It bends perfect for fighting big stripers. I paired this with a 5. 3 Avet reel( not sold at Dicks) and it performed great. For me it is not a good fluke rod, but really like it for bigger fishing and active jigging.

I love this rod for a rod under a 100 bucks in the 70 dollar range. Its got great action been throwing med size crankbait. Great square bill rod good action have n't cought any monsters but lot's of 1 to 2 and half pound bass. Very acrute when throwing. I got some higher end set ups. But got this pared with a abu garcia black max reel with 10 pound florocarbon line. I got a 150 in reel rod and line and I pick it up as much as my 350 to 450 dollar set ups and will hang with them.

Custom casting rods are specially designed fishing rods that can be tailored to meet the specific preferences and needs of the angler. Unlike standard rods, which come in fixed specifications, custom rods allow for adjustments in length, action, power, and materials, providing a more personalized fishing experience. This customization can enhance performance and comfort, making it easier to target specific fish species or fishing techniques.
Custom casting rods are typically made from a variety of materials, with graphite and fiberglass being the most common. Graphite rods are known for their sensitivity and lightweight properties, while fiberglass rods offer durability and flexibility. Some custom rods may also incorporate composite materials to combine the benefits of both, allowing anglers to choose based on their fishing style and preferences.
When choosing a custom casting rod, consider factors such as rod length, action, power, and the types of lures or baits you plan to use. Additionally, think about the fishing environment, whether it's freshwater or saltwater, and the species you aim to catch. Personal comfort and grip preferences are also important, as they can significantly impact your overall fishing experience.
Yes, custom casting rods can be designed to accommodate various fishing techniques, such as bass fishing, trout fishing, or even saltwater fishing. By selecting the right specifications, anglers can create a rod that performs optimally for their chosen technique, whether it involves casting, flipping, or pitching. This versatility makes custom rods a popular choice among serious anglers.
The action of a custom casting rod refers to how much and where the rod bends when pressure is applied. Fast action rods bend near the tip, providing quick responsiveness and sensitivity, ideal for techniques that require precise lure control. Conversely, slow action rods bend more throughout the length, offering more flexibility and better casting distance. Understanding the action that best suits your fishing style can greatly enhance your performance on the water.
The price of custom casting rods can vary widely based on factors such as materials, craftsmanship, and brand reputation. Generally, you can expect to pay anywhere from a moderate price for entry-level options to higher prices for premium, high-performance rods. Investing in a custom rod can be worthwhile for serious anglers who prioritize quality and performance tailored to their specific fishing needs.
