Very comfortable right out of the box; insole molds into your feet; broke them in on a very gnarly traisl and it was like i 'd been wearing them all week; suede upper breathes very well along with the side vents and keeps the small rocks and sand out; outer mid plate does and excellent job of cushioning you on sharp rocks; first pair of Danners- new fan!

[ I bought these Trail Shoes from Danner knowing that they would be a quality Trail Shoe do to the Boots that Danner make. The tread on these are awesome though they do drag alot of dirt in! I have recieved alot of compliments on the look of these from people. I love the look and feel of these, I wear them as my everyday shoes. Way to go Danner!!

Been trying everything from trail runners to hiking boots, and always have knee pain due to meniscus surgery and metatarsal pain especially on pavement or downhill. So far I 've only hiked about 10 miles in these, but it's the first 10 miles without pain in years! Fit wise, I have low volume, long arch, c width feet with all the width at the toes. I sized my normal 11. 5D and while an 11 would have fit, the 11. 5 felt better. No issues with foot slip, no hot spots. Shoes are squishy, but return energy such that they do n't feel soft. Great for pavement and trails. Well done, Danner.

[ Recently broke these in during a trip to Supai, and they performed great. Wore them in temps ranging from 30s to 80s, and I was comfortable the whole time. Water resistant enough to splash through some light streams, and did really well in sandy conditions. I wear a 10 in most brands( my go to running shoe brand in Brooks for reference), and these fit great with hiking socks. These are more of a lightweight boot/heavy duty running shoe than a true boot, but that is my preference. They seemed like they will hold up well over time, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

The first time I tried on the Danner Trail 2650 4 ” boot, I knew this was the boot for me. Fit, height, weight, durability were perfect. No break- in needed. Only problem was availability. Apparently every other outdoor adventurer has the same opinion, because all stores were either out or low on inventory…. except Dick ’s. Not only did Dick ’s have my size in the color I wanted, they had TWO pair. Without the slightest feeling of greediness, I bought them both.

When selecting hiking boots, consider features such as waterproofing, breathability, and traction. Look for boots with durable outsoles that provide grip on various terrains. Additionally, a comfortable fit with adequate ankle support is crucial for long hikes.
Hiking boots are typically made from a combination of leather, synthetic materials, and rubber. Leather offers durability and water resistance, while synthetic materials can provide lightweight comfort and breathability. Rubber soles are essential for traction and stability on uneven surfaces.
Choosing the right size for hiking boots involves measuring your foot length and width, and considering the type of socks you will wear. It's important to try on boots with the socks you plan to use, ensuring there is enough room for your toes while still providing a snug fit around the heel.
Different terrains require different types of hiking boots. For rocky or uneven trails, boots with sturdy soles and ankle support are ideal. For smoother, well-maintained paths, lightweight and flexible shoes may be sufficient. Consider the terrain you will encounter most often when selecting your boots.
Waterproof hiking boots can be a valuable investment, especially if you plan to hike in wet or muddy conditions. They help keep your feet dry and comfortable, reducing the risk of blisters and discomfort. However, if you primarily hike in dry conditions, breathable options may be more suitable.
