My daughter has a few of these mats and uses them for gymnastics. She is 13. When the mats arrived the smell was strong. I called the company and they returned my call quickly and advised that the smell is normal and part of the manufacturing process. We left the mats outside in our garage.... with the door open for days and the smell went away. We also washed them a few times which helped.

Because of COVID - 19 and the closure of my gym, I ’ ve been doing my workouts outdoors. The rubber mat that I ’ ve been using has been good for everything but jump roping. I needed something THICKER. A YouTube jump roper recommended the Dollamur 3x6 mat. I thought the price was a little high until I compared it to other mats that were being marketed for jump roping and the Dollamur was in the same price range. I knew the Dollamur made good quality thick mats because I ’ ve seen them being used by my local college ’s gymnastic team and judo dojo. Now that I got it, I am really happy that I bought it. Should have purchased last year! My son's trained in the live rooms on the carpet, and that's no good. These mats are great for the basement or garage. They are light in weight but have great support and feel like our normal wrestling gym mats. No problem to move around the house, store in the closest, or layout to wrestle. The kids are learn more now because they feel like there training verses rolling around on the floor. I will also say the Flex Connect is worth the money. I know I tape and clean mats on a normal basis, and none of the normal mat maintenance is required with these mats.
