Great design! Handle/Grip is great. Very ergonomically friendly. Knife edge is sharp, Saw blade is sharp. Sheath is secure with the zipper, velcro and the snap over flap. Very impressed.

Looks good, feels good, balanced weight, at the hand; I am NOT an expert, but I do have some experience in making machetes, when I was in South America, my father's factory, a good experience overall. I used to use the machines to cut, assemble the machetes parts together, and then, try to sharpen, the final machete, for use. I have seen many machetes, and tried many variations of a machete; The Nepal Version, Kukri Design, used in this machete, is a good choice, for green vegetation cutting, and other stuff. My choice for a machete, is this Kukri Machete by SOG. Now, I need to find a nice Jungle to try my Toys, my machete, a little more!!! A Kukri is a good choice!!! Cheers, Regards, alberto

Also very versatile with its saw blade, which is good for sawing through branches. Even though it ’s the “ junior ” it ’s a decent sized blade, but still lightweight and very easy to carry. [ I 'm really impressed by everything made by Gerber, they make quality tools and top notch materials. This Jr Machete is nothing short of fantastic. The blade is both sharp and honed to a great edge. The other side of the blade is a saw style blade that really bites into the surface you 're cutting. It has tremendous versatility from chopping branches and light brush to sawing small limb and trees. I 'm really impressed with the sheath that comes with the blade. It protects the blade and more over helps the user from cutting themselves. The handle is soft and makes for easy gripping while the rope handle let's you have another layer of protection in case the machete slips out of your hand. I 'd highly recommend this tool for anyone going camping or hunting. It's small enough to hide under your seat or in your backpack.

[ This is a great machete. It ’s strong and versatile. The fact that is a compact size makes it easy to carry on hiking trips. I like the string that locks your hands in place. Seems to make it safe. Sharp blade. Saw on the back is a nice touch.

[ For a Jr, this machete was larger than I expected, but thats not a bad thing. It seems well made, and has a comfortable handle, with flared end for safety. Saw side looks good, but ca n't comment on it's effectiveness. Nice protective case, and wrist strap as well.

Outstanding knife/machete, got this for Christmas, it can cut through brush and small trees with ease! I tested it's durability by smashing a solid ice block with it and it did n't dull a the slightest! It preforms as well as a 18 inch blade machete and the blade is half the size of them! Highly recommend this Knife/machete!

Great durable machete! Clears trails and even chops 2 inch wide trees super easily! Preforms just as a 18 inch 1 1/2 pound machete would and is much lighter! Had it for half a year and only needed 2 sharpens! Broke the tip off by accidentally smashing a rock but it still kicks butt! It is also very easy to sharpen. I tested it's durability by smashing a block of solid ice with it, and it did n't even get a bit dull. Highly recommend this knife/machete
