For me the most important thing was to be able to cut a lure off without having the knot remain behind on the hook or stuck in the eye of the lure. Also I wanted to be able to cut tag ends extremely close. Finally, I wanted to be able to cut even a limp line with one hand. These scissors do all those things. My only regret is that they were the last pair available. I am a combat Marine. I MUST have at least two of everything.

I have owned the Leatherman ARC Talos for several weeks and have come to appreciate the exceptional build quality. The FREE technology comes in very handy for operating one- handed. I love the locking mechanism for the tools and the accessibility from outside of the multi tool. Does not come with a case; however, it does come with a nice pocket clip that securely holds the tool in place. Be careful when flicking the tool open with one hand: it can bite if your index finger is too close to the top of the handles.

[ I ’ ve owned several models of Leatherman and Gerber…Wave+, Charge Plus TTI, Charge Plus, Rebar, Super Tool 300, Skeletool CX, Surge, Gerber Truss and Centerdrive you name it. None of them were able to justify not carrying a pocket knife until the ARC. The magnacut blade is a game changer in the multitool space and has replaced my pocket knife with ease. The one handed opening pliers are awesome when you have your hands full as well as the ability to access the tools from the outside, again, with one hand. Different from the Free P4, Leatherman has listened and put a proper bit changer, quality scissors and a proper file into the tool. Ive always used Gerber in the past but this is by far the best multi tool ever! The knife is razor sharp( it passed the shave test). Pliers/wire cutters are what would be expected, as well as the other tools. A surprise was the letter/box opener was an outstanding little tool.
